"The most accurate way to describe Israel today is as an apartheid state," Neve Gordon, an American-born Jew who has lived in Israel for nearly 30 years and teaches political science at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Beersheba, recently wrote in a Los Angeles Times op-ed.
Gordon also came to the conclusion that boycotting Israel may be the only way to save the country from itself.
As an American-born Christian I am in solidarity with that opinion.

When Mary of Guise garrisoned an additional four thousand troops in Edinburgh, England decided that it was time to launch a pre-emptive strike based upon the "intelligence" that was available. Norfolk's position was basically this: you are either for us or against us. He proposed a pre-emptive strike to smoke out 'heretics' [terrorists?] and bring them to justice, that is to say --the rack or the noose or both!
Sir William Cecil --later Lord Burghley --admonished spymaster Sir Francis Walsingham who urged caution. Cecil's position was: 'you're either for us for you are for the heretics!'
I do not like wars. They have uncertain outcomes.

In his recent visit to the United States, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak surprised his American interlocutors when he said that Arab states would not normalize relations with Israel before the termination of the Israeli occupation and establishment of a Palestinian state.
Mubarak argued that as far as the Arabs were concerned, previous normalization endeavors were not encouraging as successive Israeli governments interpreted the Arab goodwill in this regard as connoting tacit acceptance of the consolidated Israeli occupation of Palestinian land, including the colonialist Jewish settlement expansion.

It began, as it always did, with a phone call to 911. “Now listen here,” the caller demanded, his voice frantic. “I’ve got two people here held hostage, all right? Now, you know what happens to people that are held hostage? It’s not like on the movies or nothing, you understand that?”
“OK,” the 911 operator said.
“One of them here’s name is Danielle, and her father,” the caller continued. “And the reason why I’m doing this is because her father raped my sister.”
The caller, who identified himself as John Defanno, said that he had the 18-year-old Danielle and her dad tied up in their home in Security, a suburb of Colorado Springs. He’d beaten the father with his gun. “He’s bleeding profusely,” Defanno warned. “I am armed, I do have a pistol. If any cops come in this house with any guns, I will fucking shoot them. I better get some help here, because I’m going fucking psycho right now.”

Connect the dots ~ Cheney did indeed have his CIA assassination group but it was outsourced, much like torture was outsourced to foreign countries, to Blackwater mercenaries and Pat Tillman was most likely a target during the 2004 election year for he was about to support John Kerry:
In my column on April 1, 2009 DID CHENEY ASSASSINATION RING TARGET PAT TILLMAN ? I wrote of the Seymour Hersh's revelation of an executive assassination ring that reported directly to Dick Cheney and now confirmed by former Cheney aide John Hannah. I also wrote that it's time to re-open the investigation of Pat Tillman's questionable death by friendly fire which was stonewalled by both the Bush administration and the Pentagon generals.

Former Palestinian detainee, researcher Abdul-Nasser Farwana, stated that all facts on the ground, since decades, prove that the Israeli occupation executed Palestinian detainees after they surrendered and refused to hand their bodies to their families. Hundreds of bodies were transferred to the families days, months or even years after the fact, and when the bodies were sent back, they were missing vital internal organs.
Farwana added that the Swedish report, written by Donald Boström and published by Aftonbladet Swedish paper, regarding illegal trafficking of body parts of Palestinians is directly connected to the execution of Palestinians after they surrendered to the army, and is connected with the arrest of 40 well-known figures, including Rabbis in New Jersey for money laundering and corruption, in a scheme that involved sales of Israeli kidneys in the US and other corruption rackets.

The creator and producer of "60 Minutes" Don Hewitt, died at 86 on August 20, 2009.
In 2001, he wrote: "The formula is simple and it's reduced to four words every kid in the world knows: Tell me a story. It's that easy."
"Back in the days when television was in black and white, Don Hewitt was creating and producing the world's first taste of "news at the dinner hour"…Big event television news? Hewitt birthed it. The anchor on location for the big story? Hewitt birthed that too.

The pugnacious political columnist, Robert D. Novak, nicknamed "the prince of darkness," who died at 78 on August 18, 2009, was the first mainstream media reporter to shine a light on the “Michshol Hafrada” which is Hebrew for the "Separation Wall" which translates to "Apartheid Wall" in Afrikaan.
In May of 2005, just prior to my first journey to Israel Palestine I phoned Mother Agapia Stephanopolous, a Russian Orthodox nun and the administrator of the Orthodox School of Bethany in Jerusalem, to schedule an appointment for spiritual direction and to discuss our mutual feelings about The Wall. Mother Agapia is the sister of ABC News commentator, George Stephanopolous, and she had recently and passionately informed Congress and Robert Novak regarding how “Israel is destroying the local Christian community.”

In his valuable book Looking Awry, Slavoj Zizek offers a Lacanian interpretation of Zeno’s Achilles and the Tortoise paradox (1) “The libidinal economy of the case of Achilles and the Tortoise is here made clear: the paradox stages the relation of the subject to the object cause of its desire, which can never be attained. The object cause is always missed” (Looking Awry, Slavoj Zizek pg’ 4). Our object of desire always eludes no matter what we try to do to attain it. Achilles can never arrive at the tortoise, he can only get closer and closer.

I am disappointed with the view of some knowledgeable commentators over Scotland’s release of the dying man who was convicted of the Lockerbie-airline bombing.
From a purely power-politics point of view, of course, they are right: judging by the ugly noises echoing across the oceans from America, Scotland has done itself no favor.
But if all affairs are to be carried on in every country from that point of view, it seems to me that it is acceptance of America's right to dictate every matter over the planet, including such intimate matters as how individual countries interpret justice and the government of laws.
