Violence Achieves One Thing Only - More of It

October 23rd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Lunatics in Washington and Israel use premeditated violence as a way to stoke more of it, keep nations and Occupied Palestine in a permanent state of turmoil and chaos, then blame victims for their high crimes - perhaps the dirtiest game of all, causing genocidal slaughter and destruction as well as unspeakable human misery.

Both nations are more feared and hated than any others for good reason - pariah states by any standard, run by lunatic barbarians.

Both prohibit democracy and commit the most egregious human rights abuses. Both long ago adopted state terror and genocide as official policy.

Both serve monied interests exclusively, grievously harming the great majority of their own people. Both wage endless wars of aggression.

Rampaging State-Sponsored Israeli Settlers

October 23rd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Israeli settlements are infested with Arab-hating Zionist zealots - permitted to freely terrorize defenseless Palestinians including young children, committing daily acts violence and vandalism, at times cold-blooded murder with impunity.

Israeli authorities do nothing to stop them, de facto encouragement to rampage freely, often protected by soldiers and police - notably when they disruptively enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound where they don’t belong, commit vigilante attacks against young children, farmers in their fields, holy places or homes by settling them ablaze. Yesh Din Volunteers for Human Rights receive daily complaints from abused Palestinians, notably during recent weeks of Israeli instigated violence, settlers attacking them at home, in vehicles, in village areas, in fields, virtually anywhere in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

TTIP: The Aristocracy Aren’t Satisfied; They Demand More

October 23rd, 2015

Eric Zuesse,

A new analysis of the Obama-proposed TTIP ‘trade’ treaty, which the U.S. would have with Europe, finds that it was initiated and shaped by large international corporations, which will, also according to the only independent economic analysis that has thus far been done of TTIP (Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership), be the only beneficiaries of the proposed Treaty — all at the expense of the publics in each one of the participating countries.

This new study is titled “Public Services Under Attack,” but it’s about more than just the proposed treaty’s impacts upon replacing “Public Services” by private services.Corporate Europe headlined about this study on October 12th, "Public services under attack through TTIP and CETA,” and listed 15 of what they consider to be the report’s highlights. The following will instead quote extensively from the study itself, so that this summary will come mainly from the report itself.

Farcical Egyptian Parliamentary Elections Underway

October 22nd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Legitimate opposition parties are banned from participating in Egypt’s first parliamentary elections since junta authority seized power by coup d’etat - complicit with Washington in ousting President Mohamed Morsi, now imprisoned on trumped up charges.

Strongman ruler Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is a US War College graduate, taught to crush all opposition to junta rule, undisguised despotism, governing by state terror. Democracy is strictly forbidden.

Elections underway are farcical by any standard, proceeding in two phases for 596 parliamentary seats (568 elected ones, the others Sisi-appointed) on October 18 and 19 in 14 governorates, then in 13 remaining ones on November 22 and 23.

Killing Off Community Banks — Intended Consequence of Dodd-Frank?

October 22nd, 2015

by Ellen Brown

The Dodd-Frank regulations are so lethal to community banks that some say the intent was to force them to sell out to the megabanks. Community banks are rapidly disappearing — except in North Dakota, where they are thriving.

At over 2,300 pages, the Dodd Frank Act is the longest and most complicated bill ever passed by the US legislature. It was supposed to end “too big to fail” and “bailouts,” and to “promote financial stability.” But Dodd-Frank’s “orderly liquidation authority” has replaced bailouts with bail-ins, meaning that in the event of insolvency, big banks are to recapitalize themselves with the savings of their creditors and depositors. The banks deemed too big are more than 30% bigger than before the Act was passed in 2010, and 80% bigger than before the banking crisis of 2008. now have assets of some $10 trillion, amounting to almost 60% of GDP; and they control nearly 50% of all bank deposits.

Occupation and Persecution: The Sole Cause of Violence in Palestine

October 22nd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Palestinians are not knife-wielding terrorists as scurrilous Western and Israeli reports claim - disgracefully highlighted by presstitute scoundrels, ignoring decades of Palestinian suffering and ruthless occupation harshness.

Israel bears full responsibility for ongoing violence, planned and instigated by Netanyahu’s Arab-hating fascist regime - with full support from neocons infesting Washington, part of their longstanding scheme for world dominance by brute force and genocidal elimination of opposition.

Unrestrained state terror is official US and Israeli policy. The only way to stop daily violence and persecution in Palestine is by ending occupation and effectively challenging US imperial lawlessness.

Israelis Are Today’s Nazis

October 22nd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Israel terrorizes Palestinians the same way Nazis brutalized Jews - disgracefully supported by Western regimes and supportive media, ignoring decades of racist persecution, including ongoing genocidal high crimes demanding accountability. More on Israeli ruthlessness below.

Resistance against Nazi tyranny during WW II occurred in every occupied country, as well as in Germany - from Hitler’s rise to power until the Third Reich’s fall in spring 1945, including plans to oust Hitler and end the scourge of Nazism. Throughout occupied Europe, Russian, French, Dutch, Belgian, Slavic, Polish, Scandinavian, even Italian resistance challenged its ruthlessness.

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan: Terrorist Unleashed

October 21st, 2015

James Petras

Introduction

The October 12, 2015 terror bombing in Ankara, resulting in the death of 127 trade unionists, peace activists, Kurdish advocates and progressives, has been attributed either to the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regime or to ISIS terrorists.

The Erdoğan regime’s ‘hypothesis’ is that ISIS or the Kurdish Workers Party (PKK) was responsible for the terrorist attack, a position echoed by all of the NATO governments and dutifully repeated by all of the Western mass media. Their most recent claim is that a Turkish member of ISIS carried out the massacre – in a ‘copy-cat action’ after his brother, blamed by the Turkish government for an earlier bombing which left 33 young pro-Kurdish activists dead in July in Suruc, on the Syrian border.

Arab World: Authoritarianism is Menace to Peace and Conflict Management

October 21st, 2015

Dr. Mahboob A. Khawaja

Terror is the engine of war. And terror is what all sides in this conflict produce in overabundance …….We torture hostages in our black sites and choke them to death by stuffing rags down their throats. They torture hostages in squalid hovels and behead them. We organize Shiite death squads to kill Sunnis. They organize Sunni death squads to kill Shiites. We produce high-budget films such as “American Sniper” to glorify our war crimes. They produce inspirational videos to glorify their twisted version of jihad. The barbarism we condemn is the barbarism we commit. The line that separates us from the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is technological, not moral. We are those we fight. …..“From violence, only violence is born,” Primo Levi wrote, “following a pendular action that, as time goes by, rather than dying down, becomes more frenzied.” (Chris Hedges, “The Terror We Give Is the Terror We Get” Truthdig: 2/08/2015)

NYT Falsely Claims Russia Sending Troops to Syria

October 21st, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

The New York Times is militantly anti-Russian, an over-the-top lying machine, featuring all propaganda all the time on major geopolitical issues, systematically suppressing hard truths.

Its latest misinformation piece falsely headlined “Russian Soldiers Join Syria Fight,” claiming Moscow “said Monday that its ‘volunteer’ ground forces would join the fight and NATO warned the Kremlin after at least one Russian warplane trespassed into Turkey’s airspace.”

More on the so-called air space violation below. The Times shamelessly accused Moscow of “saber-rattling,” challenging Obama’s Syria agenda, ignoring its lawlessness, saying “(a) Russian ground force could fundamentally alter the conflict.”

Putin categorically ruled out using ground troops in Syria. Russian upper house Federation Council foreign affairs committee chairman Konstantin Kosachev said “(w)e would not risk getting stuck in a long conflict and threaten the lives of our troops. The operation is aerial only. Certainly, in coordination with the ground operation of the Syrian army.”

Putin called for an international anti-terrorist coalition to fight its scourge, cooperatively with Syrian armed forces, boots on the ground directly engaging ISIS and other takfiri terrorists.

Accusing Moscow of using ground troops in Syria repeats the Big Lie about nonexistent “Russian aggression” in Ukraine.
