Sergey Lavrov Says US Spreads Global Terrorism

August 9th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

On April 4, 1967 (exactly one year to the day before his state-sponsored assassination), Martin Luther King called America “the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today” - in his Beyond Vietnam speech delivered at New York’s Riverside Church.

America is “on the wrong side of a world revolution,” he said. It allies with “landed gentry (against) shirtless and barefoot people.”

“(C)apitalists of the West invest huge sums of money in Asia, Africa and South America, only to take the profits out with no concern for the social betterment of the countries.”

Gorbachev Fears Nuclear War

August 9th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Aging and illness months earlier haven’t affected his outspokenness on issues as vital as preventing nuclear war. Interviewed by Spiegel Online, he said as long as these weapons exist, “sooner or later they will be used.”

They’re not going away - at least no time soon. Washington intends spending $1 trillion over the next 30 years upgrading its already formidable arsenal - a warning of intent to use against Russia, China or any other nation challenging its quest for world dominance. Gorbachev’s message is clear. If these weapons aren’t eliminated, they’ll eliminate us. Founder of America’s nuclear navy Admiral Hyman Rickover said the same thing in 1982 congressional testimony.

"In all wars, man has used the best weapons available to him.” he stressed. “If history has any meaning for us, it shows that men will continue to use (them) to win."

Hiroshima & Nagasaki Atomic Bombings: Deliberate Plot To Start The Cold War

August 8th, 2015

by State of the Nation

The Greatest War Crimes Of The Modern Era

General panoramic view taken from the Nagasaki Medical School and Hospital, looking southeast.
USA Committed Acts of Sheer Cowardice by Dropping Two Atomic Bombs on Civilian Populations
The US Military Committed the Worst Atrocities of World War II to Prevent Soviet Influence over Japan and Stop Their Oil & Gas Trade
State of the Nation

Moments after the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, Japan
“My God, What Have We Done?”
— Captain Robert A. Lewis, co-pilot of the Enola Gay, the B-29 Superfortress bomber which dropped the atomic bomb Little Boy on the Japanese city of Hiroshima

The detonations of the atomic bombs over the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan constitute the greatest war crimes of the modern era. Neither nuclear attack was legally defensible or lawful by any standard. Nor were those atomic bombings ethically sound or morally justified in any way. In short, both episodes of nuclear annihilation were acts of naked aggression and unjustifiable violence against innocent civilian population centers.

Just as importantly, both war crimes were completely unnecessary as they were (i) perpetrated as mere experiments by the U.S. scientific and military establishments, and (ii) meant to deliver a global message from the U.S. government and political class. One of the most significant messages was meant directed at the Soviet Union. In the wake of World War II there would be a New World Order (NWO) established and the United States of America would operate as the military arm of that NWO.

The USA: Military Arm Of The New World Order

The highest ranking U.S. officials and military personnel responsible for those 2 atrocities carried out against defenseless and powerless Japanese civilians include President Harry S. Truman, Secretary of War Henry L. Stimson, Chief of Staff of the United States Army and General of the Army George Marshall, and the Army Commander-in-Chief in the Pacific and General of the Army Douglas MacArthur.

Iran Nuclear Deal Aftermath: Campaigning to Kill It

August 8th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Denigrating Iran is longstanding - taken to a higher level post-Vienna. It has nothing to do with its well-known peaceful nuclear program - with no military component or evidence it intends one.

It has everything to do with its sovereign independence, Washington wanting control of its government and hydrocarbon resources, as well as Israel wanting its main regional rival eliminated.

Expect relentless Iran bashing to continue until the nuclear deal is implemented or Congress rejects it (under heavy Israeli Lobby pressure) by a veto-proof margin. The battle to undermine what was achieved is on. AIPAC plans a multi-million dollar Iran bashing campaign - intending to proliferate scare-mongering Big Lies to sway public opinion and enlist enough congressional support to undo years of hard work.

"Human Rights Newsletter "Global climate

"Mazin Qumsiyeh"

The story that captured media attention around the world especially in western countries was the killing of “Cecil” the Lion by a western Dentist. Locally, the story most making the news was the killing of a local hyena by ignorant superstitious locals. As biologists and conservationists here working to protect our fauna and flora, we are of course very angry about these senseless killings. But we are also angry that these are the same media outlets that are ignoring a global threat that is killing millions (perhaps billions) of animals: global climate change. Here in Palestine under Israeli colonial occupation temperatures are 5-7 degrees above their norms. Even in our regular excursions to the fields we find many dead animals (in one instance three newly dead tortoises and two birds in one small field).

Hollow Israeli Sorrow Over Palestinian Baby Immolated by Settlers

August 8th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Israeli officials throughout its history consistently showed contempt for Palestinian rights - from Ben-Gurion to Allon to Meir to Begin to Rabin to Peres to Sharon to Netanyahu and others, an array of rogue leaders, not a democrat in the bunch.

All believed in affording rights solely to Jews. None supported fundamental fairness. All committed high crimes against defenseless Palestinians - from Ben-Gurion’s Nakba to Netanyahu’s Protective Edge along with decades of racist persecution from 1948 through today - horrific barbarism against an entire population, flagrantly violating international law unaccountably.

GREECE’D: We Voted ‘No’ to slavery, but ‘Yes’ to our chains

August 8th, 2015

By Michael Nevradakis

Greek journalist Michael Nevradakis and US investigative journalist Greg Palast have a different take on the Greek ‘No’ vote against Europe’s cruel austerity demands.

We Greeks have voted ‘No’ to slavery – but ‘Yes’ to our chains.

Not surprisingly, by nearly two-to-one, Greeks have overwhelmingly rejected the cruel, economically bonkers “austerity” program required by the European Central Bank in return for an ECB loan to pay Greece’s creditors. In doing so, the Greek people overcame an unprecedented campaign of fear from the Greek and international media, the European Union (EU), and most of our political parties.

What’s simply whack-o is that, while voting “No” to austerity, many Greeks wish to remain shackled to the euro, the very cause of our miseries.

Meaningless Planned PA/Jordanian UN Resolution to Protect Palestinian Civilians

August 8th, 2015

strong>by Stephen Lendman

It comes after racist Jewish settlers immolated 18-month-old baby Ali Dawabsha, leaving other family members close to death with severe third degree burns covering most of their bodies.

They’re in intensive care, their lives hang in the balance - recovery if possible will be protracted and painful.

Jordan and PA authorities are Israeli collaborators. Drafting a Security Council resolution to protect Palestinians is meaningless at best, duplicitous at worst - a shameless futile gesture in lieu of world community action to isolate Israel and prosecute its government and military officials for numerous high crimes too horrendous to ignore.

Washington will veto any Security Council resolution with teeth. Israel ignores all UN resolutions and other actions against its interests - with full US-led Western support.

Wikipedia as Propaganda Not History — MH17 as An Example

August 7th, 2015

Eric Zuesse

Wikipedia articles are more propaganda than they are historical accounts. And, often, their cited sources are misleading, or even false.

On 15 August 2007, the BBC headlined “Wikipedia Shows CIA Page Edits,” and Jonathan Fildes reported that, “An online tool that claims to reveal the identity of organizations that edit Wikipedia pages has revealed that the CIA was involved in editing entries.” I.e.: What the CIA doesn’t like, they can (and do) eliminate or change.

More recently, on 25 June 2015, an anonymous reddit poster, “moose,” listed and linked directly to 18 different news reports, in such media as New York Times, Washington Post, Telegraph, Mirror, Guardian, and Newsweek, reporting about wikipedia edits that were supplied not only by the CIA but by other U.S. Government offices, and by large corporations.
