Islamic Awakening requested an article on this topic. Later publication will follow. Specific questions were raised.
Related issues include imperial priorities, permanent wars, political injustice, wealth and privilege at the expense of popular needs, and deepening hardships affecting millions of Americans. America's social contact is targeted for elimination. Bipartisan complicity plans it. Fiscal cliff doublespeak duplicity conceals what's planned. Robbing poor Peter to pay rich Paul is policy. Much worse lies ahead.

Once again the corporate mass media got the story wrong. Headlines across the country claimed that occupiers in New York came from households with incomes of over $100,000. The movement writer for The Nation, Allison Kilkenny, interviewed one of the researchers who points out that a lot of these were young people earning under $15,000 per year who were still in school and living with their parents. The most important takeaway lesson from the researcher’s point of view:

Israel partners with Washington's wars. It's been largely covertly involved against Syria. It's now blatantly overt.

I’ve been staying out of most world events as of late, preferring to watch things unfold silently as there are so many that seem to have all of the answers. I don’t claim to have any answers, but I sure do have a lot of questions. There is a good chance that many of you have the same questions that I have. Sometimes, the questions are more important than the answers. In this 21st Century, there are so many of our leaders that will give us the answers to any questions we ask, they just aren't the right answers. In fact, they lie continuously.
One question I have is why do we support a collection of fundamentalist Islamic States like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain and the UAE with their Wahhabi and Salafi militant Muslim sects? According to the “official” 9/11 explanation, all of the hijackers came from Saudi Arabia and were members of the extremist Wahhabi Muslim sect. Just like the majority of al-Qaeda.
In the recent fighting in Syria, the so-called “rebels” are made up of mostly non-Syrian Salafi and Wahhabi extremists. They also have support from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE and other nations that make up the Gulf Cooperation Council with help from Turkey, United Kingdom, Israel and France. Why put extremists in a country that was ruled by a moderate Alawite?

Headlines flashed warning signs. Commentaries downplayed them. A Wall Street Journal editorial headlined "As Contractions Go…."
US Q IV GDP shrank, "but not to worry. The report is better than it sounds, the stock market is rocking, and (the Fed will) keep both feet pressed firmly on the monetary accelerator."
The Financial Times headlined "US outlook still clear despite shower," saying:
Predicting recession "based on (-0.1% GDP decline) "is a bit like expecting rain because somebody threw a bucket of water out the window."
The wildcard is "if Congress decides to dump water out the window every month, via across-the-board 'sequester' cuts" expected soon.
According to Bloomberg, "R-Word For US Economy in 2013 is Rebound Not Recession."

A previous article discussed Israel's Wednesday attack on Lebanon. Reports suggested Syrian weapons and munitions heading cross border were struck.
It asked why would Assad send vitally needed weapons and munitions to Lebanon? He needs all he can get.
What's Israel up to? Is something else going on? Is it trying to provoke Syria to retaliate? Does it want to entrap it in all-out war?
Doing so would involve Washington and NATO. It would mean Syria's undoing. It would ignite regional conflict. Potentially it could morph into global war.

From time to time, unsubstantiated reports concocted by newspapers funded by the Mukhabarat or intelligence services of certain oil-rich Arab regimes would have us believe that Hamas is about to recognize Israel.
Insinuations to that effect were incessantly made in the past 25 years, virtually ever since the establishment of the Palestinian Islamic liberation movement.
The ultimate aim of this dishonorable and mendacious press is to discredit Hamas and the entire Islamic camp, not only in Palestine, but also in the entire Arab world.

Israel regularly violates Lebanese air space. Doing so is longstanding. It's also illegal. Incursions sometimes happen multiple times daily. Conflicting reports discussed an overnight border attack.
Lebanon's state-run Al-Watania confirmed nothing. It's state-run NNA news agency denied it.
Lebanon's Naharnet news site said 12 Israeli fighter jets entered Lebanese air space in the last 24 hours. Flights overflew the Beka Valley.
On Saturday, Lebanon's Al-Mustaqbal daily said a southern weapons storage facility was struck. No official confirmation followed.

In the 21st century Americans have experienced an extraordinary collapse in the rule of law and in their constitutional protections. Today American citizens, once a free people protected by law, can be assassinated and detained in prison indefinitely without any evidence being presented to a court of their guilt, and they can be sentenced to prison on the basis of secret testimony by anonymous witnesses not subject to cross examination. The US “justice system” has been transformed by the Bush/Obama regime into the ”justice system” of Gestapo Germany and Stalinist Russia. There is no difference.
In an article available here: http://www.wrmea.org/wrmea-archives/541-washington-report-archives-2011-2015/january-february-2013/11611-why-all-americans-should-care-about-the-holy-land-foundation-case.html Stephen Downs, formerly Chief Attorney with the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct and Kathy Manley, a criminal defense attorney and member of the New York Civil Liberties Union, report on how the US government destroyed a charity, the Holy Land Foundation, which provided money for feeding the poor and for building schools and hospitals in Palestine.

Earlier articles discussed Washington's racist war on immigrants. It's longstanding. It mocks notions of welcoming tired, poor, wretched masses yearning to breathe free. White supremacist Judeo/Christian extremism prevents it. Poor and desperate people aren't welcome. People of color are scorned. Exploiting unwanted masses is policy. Helping them is verboten.
America never was beautiful and isn't now. Wealth, power, privilege, and dominance alone matter. Equity and justice are four-letter words. The New York Times claims otherwise. On January 28, it headlined "Senators Offer a Bipartisan Blueprint for Immigration," saying:
They "agreed on a set of principles for a sweeping overhaul of the immigration system, including a pathway to American citizenship for 11 million (undocumented) immigrants that would hinge on progress in securing the borders and ensuring that foreigners leave the country when their visas expire."
