Fukushima nuclear plant to construct UNDERSEA tunnel to release a million tons of treated water

The operators of Japan’s Fukushima nuclear power plant announced plans to build an undersea tunnel to facilitate the release of one million tons of treated water from the site into the surrounding ocean. Japan insists the water, is completely safe, thoroughly treated to remove radioactive particles. Neighboring countries and fishing communities criticized the water-release plan over safety fears, worry it will undermine confidence in seafood caught in the surrounding waters.
