An explosion tore through an Ohio metals plant on Monday, scattering molten metal and debris that rained down on neighboring buildings, killing one person and injuring at least a dozen others, officials, witnesses and a media report said. | The blast sent smoke billowing into the sky that could be seen for miles around the damaged factory about 15 miles (24 km) southeast of Cleveland. The explosion of unknown origin at the I. Schumann & Co. metals plant in Bedford drew fire departments from throughout northeast Ohio. ● Oakwood Fire Department Captain Brian DiRocco addressed the media on scene earlier on Monday, saying 13 people were taken to hospital, many of them with burn wounds, and one more was being treated on site. At least one was in critical condition, and one was pulled from the debris, DiRocco had said. All of those injured were on site, the falling debris having spared those at neighboring businesses. A spokeswoman for Cuyahoga County confirmed later that a 46-year-old man had died, according to the New York Times.

A blueprint in good faith | On the one-year anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine military conflict, China restated its calls for political settlement of the Ukraine crisis with more specific plans that accommodate the concerns of both Russia and Ukraine, in a neutral and consistent manner. In a 12-point position paper dubbed "China's Position on the Political Settlement of the Ukraine Crisis," issued on Friday morning, the Chinese Foreign Ministry called for ceasing hostilities and resuming peace talks, stopping unilateral sanctions and abandoning the Cold War mentality. It also called for respecting the sovereignty of all countries and expressed opposition to the use of nuclear weapons. Chinese experts said the document should be viewed as a blueprint that has made China's principles clear for resolving the crisis and pointed out the basic path to achieve it constructively.
■ Time will prove the enormous value of China’s position paper: Global Times editorial
Comment by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, M.V.Zakharova, in connection with the publication of the Chinese Foreign Ministry's "China's position on the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis" | On February 24, a document entitled "China's position on the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis" was published on the official website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry. ● We highly appreciate the sincere desire of Chinese friends to contribute to the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine by peaceful means. ● We share Beijing's considerations. We are committed to the principles of compliance with the UN Charter, the norms of international law, including humanitarian law, the indivisibility of security, according to which the security of one country should not be strengthened at the expense of the security of another, which applies to the security of individual groups of countries. Like our Chinese colleagues, we consider any restrictive measures unauthorized by the UN Security Council to be illegitimate. It is a crude instrument of unfair competition and economic warfare. ● It was these considerations that dictated our proposals, put forward at the end of 2021, to conclude an Agreement between the Russian Federation and the United States of America on security Guarantees, as well as an Agreement on measures to ensure the Security of the Russian Federation and the Member States of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. We regret that our constructive proposals were rejected by Western countries. ● As for the Ukrainian crisis, Russia is open to achieving its goals through political and diplomatic means. This implies the cessation of supplies of Western weapons and mercenaries to Ukraine, the end of hostilities, the return of Ukraine to a neutral non-aligned status, recognition of the new territorial realities that have developed as a result of the realization of the right of peoples to self-determination, demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, as well as the elimination of all threats emanating from its territory. ● Citizens of Ukraine, including the Russian-speaking population and representatives of national minorities, should be guaranteed all inalienable rights, including the right to speak and study in their native language. All illegal restrictive measures should be abolished and politicized lawsuits in international courts should be withdrawn. ● We are confident that moving along this path will lead to a comprehensive, just and sustainable peace. ● The main obstacle to a peaceful settlement today is the "impossibility" of negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as the initiatives of the Ukrainian leader, which testify to the complete isolation of official Kiev from modern realities, including the demand for the withdrawal of Russian troops from our new territories – Donbass, Crimea, which was legislated by the Decree of V. Zelensky on September 30, 2022., Zaporozhye and Kherson region. At the same time, we would also like to remind you that it was Ukraine that in April 2022 stopped the peace talks initiated by it with Russia. (Trans. yandex.ru)

The US president has deceived the public about his country’s role in the pipeline attacks, the legendary journalist says | US President Joe Biden secretly ordered the blowing up of the Nord Stream pipelines so Germany would not back out of imposing sanctions on Moscow over Ukraine, legendary investigative journalist Seymour Hersh said on Afshin Rattansi’s show ‘Going Underground.’ Hersh published a bombshell exposé on the incident earlier this month. ● In the report, Hersh claimed that the US and Norway were behind the September 2022 blasts that hit the dual pipelines, built to deliver Russian gas to Germany through the Baltic Sea. Washington denied any involvement in the blasts, calling the journalist’s claims “fiction.” Hersh stood by his words, however. Biden was “lying” and “not telling the truth about something he authorized,” he said. The journalist compared the alleged affair to the events leading up to Washington’s entry into the wars in Vietnam and Iraq.
Florida Governor DeSantis jut received the kiss of death. George Soros has endorsed DeSantis for 2024. | This could not be worse for DeSantis. When the devil likes you, you might be doing something wrong. George Soros famously admitted to helping the Nazis in World War II steal from Jews and take their booty. He said in a 60 minutes interview 20 years ago from Ukraine of all places, that if he didn’t do it then someone else would – shrugging it off. After this relationship with the Nazis, Soros was somehow given US citizenship and has been a huge funder of the Democrat Party. Soros is connected with a number of non-profits (which are supposed to be non-biased per US tax law). These non-profits are ruthless attack dogs.
It’s been more than a year since Dr. Greg Schulz was suspended from Concordia University Wisconsin for publicly objecting to its board of regents inserting racial prejudices into its criteria for a new president. Interim president Dr. William Cario suspended the tenured philosophy professor on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, immediately banning Schulz from campus and his university email, according to legal documentation. 💬 “The issue is not my personality, it was not some clash with people and their feelings. This is a doctrinal issue,” Schulz said in a phone interview. Racial partiality is forbidden by the Bible and the theology of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS), the denomination that appoints regents to Concordia’s 18-member board. “I think a lot of the wokeness depends on us being cowardly and inclined to be quiet for the sake of temporary peace,” Schulz said. ● Another key commitment, Schulz said, would be a public repudiation of racism tolerated in the name of buzzwords such as “diversity,” “equity,” “inclusion,” and “anti-racism” that excuse giving preferences for a person’s skin color or ancestry. The denomination’s leader called for Concordia to do exactly that last May. It has yet to happen.
An activist shareholder has reached his limit with former Vice President Al Gore and is seeking to have him removed from his lucrative position on Apple Inc.’s board of directors. Gore is Apple’s longest-serving director. He was first elected to the board in 2003. | The late Apple CEO Steve Jobs when Gore was picked for the board, “Al brings an incredible wealth of knowledge and wisdom to Apple from having helped run the largest organization in the world – the United States government – as a Congressman, Senator and our 45th Vice President.? But ethics watchdog National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC) says it is time for Gore to get the boot. The group filed an exempt solicitation with the Securities and Exchange Commission urging fellow Apple shareholders to vote against Gore as a director nominee at the tech giant’s annual meeting on March 10.

Two brothers being held at the U.S. detention facility at Guantánamo Bay for nearly 20 years have been transferred to Pakistan, the Department of Defense announced Thursday. | The big picture: Abdul Rahim Ghulam Rabbani, 55, and Mohammed Ahmed Ghulam Rabbani, 53, were detained without charge after being accused of helping operate safe houses for suspected Al-Qaeda operatives after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, according to the New York Times. They've been detained at Guantánamo Bay since 2004 after being held at a C.I.A.-run detention site in Afghanistan for nearly two years, per the Times. Their transfers come as the Biden administration works to fulfill its promise to close the Guantánamo prison.

In a hostile takeover bid, the AFLDS Board of Directors is attempting to remove Dr. Simone Gold from the organization she founded and worked tirelessly for to defend medical freedom and civil rights. Dr. Gold had entrusted certain individuals with protecting AFLDS while she was enduring an unjust prison sentence, but upon her return, she discovered they had acted corruptly, and attempted to gain operational control of the organization, unjustly trying to fire most of the existing staff—nearly 50 workers, even threatening some with lawsuits. When Dr. Gold confronted the Board privately and urged them to correct this, they refused and retaliated against her with a public smear campaign of startling false accusations. The dispute is now in litigation; the judge in the case confirmed the allegations against Dr. Gold were false, and advised the Board to find an amicable resolution with Dr. Gold.

To provide a legal framework for Russian military support to Donetsk and Luhansk the Russian President Vladimir Putin had signed executive orders to recognize the Donetsk People's Republic and the Lunhansk People's Republic as independent countries. On Tuesday, February 22, 2022 the Federal Assembly held an extraordinary session and did as Putin had asked. This was sufficient reason for the U.S. and EU to implement their long planned fireworks of sanctions against Russia. [...] Germany halted the approval for the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. [...] Sticking to the necessary legal formalities Putin then asked the Federal Council to authorize the use of Russian Armed Forces abroad. Putin then took media questions. He made some interesting points:
➡ Russia recognizes the republics in their constitutional borders, i.e. their original borders in Ukraine before the conflict there started.
➡ He compares Crimea, where a referendum was held and people voted to became part of Russia, with Kosovo, where only a parliament vote was held to declare itself independent.
➡ He lays out what the conditions for peace had been before: Recognition of Crimea as part of Russia, no NATO membership for Ukraine, fulfillment of the Minsk agreements and a certain extend of demilitarization of Ukraine.
➡ Being asked about Ukraine's intend to build and deploy nuclear weapons (as announced by Zelenski on Feb 19 in Munich) Putin responded that the Ukraine has the means to do that. This would be a strategic threat to Russia. (MORE)
■ The Buildup To War In Ukraine - Wednesday, February 23, 2022 (MoA)
US President Joe Biden and senior White House and State Department officials are leading the United States and the world into nuclear annihilation, former FBI Special Agent Coleen Rowley told Sputnik. | Russian President Vladimir Putin officially announced Moscow was pulling out of its long-running talks with the United States for a new START treaty during his Tuesday address to the Federal Assembly. He also accused the United States of developing new types of nuclear weapons and considering new nuclear weapons tests. 💬 The neocons' hell-bent plans for 'full spectrum dominance' have been a long time in the making, having even been publicly announced decades ago, but now... we've truly reached the eve of destruction," Rowley, a Time magazine Whistleblower of the Year, said. ● In addition to Biden, senior State Department official Victoria Nuland, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and White House security aide Jake Sullivan, are leading oblivious Americans right into "nuclear Armageddon," Rowley added. The United States was far closer to catastrophic global war than the American people realized, Rowley said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 21 delivered a keynote speech addressing the Federal Assembly. Even though the West targeted Russia's economy, society, and military, it has failed to inflict damage on the nation, according to Putin. 💬 "My personal impression is that that was a very self-confident speech of the president of a country which is not just struggling through a difficult war, but is developing and looking forward into the future with optimism," Dmitry Suslov, deputy director of the Center for European and International Studies at Russia’s Higher School of Economics and deputy director of research at the Russian Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, told Sputnik. "And the major conclusion that I personally make from this speech, the major impression that I have from the speech is that despite the Western efforts to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia, Russia has successfully adapted to the new environment." Putin Nailed It When Criticizing the West - The West is likely to react aggressively to Putin's speech, especially because many of the issues he touched upon were spot on, Sputnik's interlocutors said. 💬 "It will be criticized because of the statement that the West has started attacking Russia in 2014, arming the Ukrainian forces and deploying NATO armaments to the borders of Russia," Paolo Raffone, a strategic analyst and director of the CIPI Foundation in Brussels, told Sputnik. "It will be discounted as weak on the economy because it does not recognize the negative effect of sanctions. It will be considered aggressive because it does not abide by the withdrawal of Russian forces from Ukraine. It will be considered threatening because of freezing [New] START."

■ Дмитрий Медведев: О двух выступлениях (Dimitry Medvedev: "About two performances"): Xoaquin FIores' Translation of "About two performances" (Extract): [...] And more. To paraphrase a well-known expression, Biden said in Warsaw: "If Russia stops its invasion, it will end right now. If Ukrainians stop defending themselves, it will be the end of Ukraine." This is a refined lie. ● The truth is quite different. If Russia stops the Special Military Operation, without achieving victory, there will be no Russia, it will be torn apart. If the United States stops supplying weapons to the Kiev regime, the war will end."
