AMERICAN NETWORK NEWS / THE FLASHING OF FICTION

September 23rd, 2009

Fox News, with its timeless flashing of fictions, plays its self - important role in exercising its corporate grip on opinion in America. However, Online news continues to gain traction as more Americans begin to take the time to dig beneath the fictions to find the truth:

My readership has increased significantly as Americans have begun to question the ambiguousness of most corporate Network news and their thinly disguised fictions ~ beginning with the lead up to the illegal Iraq war and extending to the lack of inquiry into the illegal financial Ponzi scheme of Ben Bernanke's Wall Street's bailout.

Last year, The Pew Research For The People And The Press reported some interesting findings ~ " Six years ago, about as many people said they regularly watched one of the nightly network news broadcasts as said they regularly watched a cable news channel. But in subsequent news consumption surveys, cable news has steadily increased its advantage over the nightly network news. In the current survey, 39% of the public reports watching cable news channels such as CNN, MSNBC or the Fox News Channel regularly, while 29% say they regularly watch one of the big three nightly network news broadcasts."

However, Pew also reported that " Online news consumption continues to grow, and substantial minorities of Americans are now taking advantage of specialized web-based and digital tools to get the news. Overall, 37% of the public - including more than half of those who go on the internet (55%) - say they regularly get news online. A decade ago, just 13% of the public, and 35% of internet users, went online for news at least three days a week." http://people-press.org/report/?pageid=1354

Maybe many Americans are finally beginning to realize that Fox news is a blatant corporate shill and there is truth to be found elsewhere if they use the net to find it. Google any story and you'll find many divergent opinions and analysis ~ try 9/11 and you'll find 128 million entries to explore or Google The Unified field and you'll find 3.3 million entries and I'm number two behind Wikipedia.

It was Gore Vidal who wrote ~ "The corporate grip on opinion in the United States is one of the wonders of the Western world. No First World country has ever managed to eliminate so entirely from its media all objectivity - much less dissent." Of course, it is possible for any citizen with time to spare, and a canny eye, to work out what is actually going on, but for the many there is not time, and the network news is the only news even though it may not be news at all but only a series of flashing fictions..."

In this time of global transition and economic chaos ~ we must take the time to search for the truth ~ for only the truth is revolutionary !

Sorry, but there is no raucous Lynyrd Skynyrd "Play Free Bird" here. Everybody has a favorite, many favorites. The diversity of the songs makes every new and old fan curious to learn more about one aspect or another of the band's expression.
