“Ladies and gentlemen step right up and get your tickets to see the new circus event in town, yes the new GOP pledge, it has everything you could ever want or need…”
Or so that’s what I’m hearing being yelled at the newsstands down on the corner.
So now, at what seams the peak (if there really is one) of the huge disappointment that the democrats and the Obama administration has turned out to be with their out of control spending, lack of genuine transparency, and the fact that the US citizens are indeed upset so let not a good crisis go to waste...
But it’s now the GOP that are using that same time honored tactic of not letting a crisis got to waste by jumping on the low approval rating of the Dem’s. This tactic which the GOP themselves have criticize the Obama administration ever since Obama’s chief of staff Ram Emanuel let that infamous quote that’s been used against the Dem’s more than Lindsay Lohan’s court ordered breathalyzer has been used against her.
So what exactly is this GOP pledge all about, let’s take a look but before we do please have your air sickens bags readily at hand because this might be rough on some of your stomachs.
The GOP pledge starts off as usual singing the praises of the American people, freedom, unalienable rights, and the who patriotic broken record that miraculously still plays without skipping too much even though it’s getting grainier with every new spin.
It was so thoughtful of the GOP to spend the tax payer’s dollars in having the pledge drafted up so the people will know that the GOP intends to make things right as they always have when given the chance. By the way that rumbling you hear is actually my stomach so stand back a little for your own safety.
I specifically enjoyed how the GOP broke it all down to a level that even a slower functioning elementary SKool student could understand and then peppered the entire pledge with enough self adulation's that physical therapists will now be needed to massages the pulled muscles for these GOP members who have spent the better part of the week continuously patting themselves on the their backs for.
Then add in a few great quotes from people like John F Kennedy to help garner sympathy and appear to be bi-partisan while including the wisdom of President Regan who was a great speaker but often missed being able to practice what he preached. Can you now see the ingredients forming for the great GOP spin.. Oops pledge?
After reading this Pledge I had my laugh for the day, but then got that turning stomach syndrome wondering, when will this proverbial train wreck will ever come to a screeching halt. I figured I would highlight just a few of the GOP insightful comments in their pledge and comment on them. Let us not waste the tax money they spent having it drafted.
The sad fact is that while Obama and the democrats have been in office they really haven’t listened to the American people and have pushed forward with their own agenda, however the truth of the matter is that when the Republicans are in Washington they aren’t much different.
Sure the GOP at least listens to the people, they spend large amounts of time in front of cameras putting on the best song and dance routine in regards to “how they listen”, but in reality they are no different than the democrats because even though the GOP might actually listen to the people they eventually do what they want regardless of the peoples wishes.
I am so glad the GOP is able to explain what we’re up against especially to simple ol’ me, after all I’m not able to see with my own eyes the high unemployment rates, the ever increasing taxes, the forced regulations, the wasted money being spent by bureaucrats, The mandated health insurance coverage, the out of control law enforcement in the name of homeland security while the southern border is wide open allowing ever increasing anchor babies a free ride on the ever growing entitlement merry go round or the back and forth of the two party system while accomplishing nothing but more regulations, taxes and erosion of rights. Round and round and when or where it stops nobody knows.
This one is almost so laughable that it would be so funny if it weren’t so sad. For the record, when GOP and their President Bush were in office before the Obama government spending spree the national debt had been the highest in US history up to that point. Sure Obama and democrats out did themselves on the national debt by sending the numbers past our solar system but while Bush was in office he had a debt spending that was larger at that time than all the previous presidents in history combined so returning it to pre Obama levels wouldn’t do much except to cut all a few trillions of dollars in interest payments the US tax payers face but the truth is the USA would still be in a huge deficit.
Yea and to do this the GOP will have to spend millions of dollars on some new policy or house bill to lay a step by step path on how to reduce spending. My suggestion for accomplishing this is that if elected the GOP should simply stay at home without pay which will help reduce the debt and prevent them from actually spending anymore tax payers dollars, but the GOP can’t practice what they preach, they only like to sell lemons while extrapolating how lemons don’t actually taste sour and tart but rather your tongue and taste buds don’t properly work and whose to blame for this malfunction.
The simple solution here would simply provide every politician a full length mirror but unfortunately instead of seeing the real culprit within the reflection these self absorbed politicians will spend hours in front of the mirrors with a god like complex telling themselves why they have all the answers while fixing their hair.
Our cumulative national debt now exceeds $13,000,000,000,000 which is more than $42,000 for every man, woman, and child in America. Under the most recent budget projections, it will continue to grow, doubling by 2020
And who’s to blame, the American people or the politicians that have caused this? Well actually the people because they allow these lying cheating politicians to get away with it each and every political cycle, but I have a feeling this isn’t going to last very much longer.
Even after grating amnesty to the million of undocumented illegal’s the number that each person owes on the national debt (which is claimed to be $42,000) will only increase as those new citizens are given even more entitlements.
While the GOP and their leader Bush was in office for 8 years the border was never secured so how can we have faith in an empty pledge especially after 8 years of failed promises on security run amuck?
I think I will end it on this quote because I can only take wading through so much manure before my feet get tired and I begin to smell as bad and the politicians who are shoveling it.
For the record there is only one plan and it has one simple step if any politician that truly wants to restore the trust and that’s to resign from Washington and let government return to a local level.
Come this election time I simply won’t be voting not because I no longer believe in either party (which I don’t) but I simply no longer believe in the entire system that continues to play each side back and forth while pledging a new era of transparency, honor, and resorting dignity while failing to follow the original oath they took in protecting and defending the Constitution (and which most politicians continue to disrespect).
That’s right this GOP pledge is nothing more than trying to assure the people that even though they broke their oath, have lied, cheated and been a large part in making mockery out of the political landscape they want yet another chance to pledge better actions which in reality are just more promises for them to break..
I think I will pledge to myself not to fall victim any longer to the political BS of both parties or even that of the Tea party, instead on Election Day I think I will pledge not to get too drunk while laughing at all their nonsense.
