Defeating US-supported terrorists in Syria requires longterm struggle. Reinvigorated government forces greatly aided by Russian air power, intelligence and other assistance are up to the task.
Russia’s involvement since last September turned the tide of battle, its General Staff’s Main Operational Directorate head Gen. Sergei Rudskoy, saying:
“Over almost seven months of the Russian Aerospace Forces' military operation (in Syria), more than 9,500 sorties (were) conducted, and some 29,000 terrorist targets (were) destroyed.”
They include terrorist-held oil facilities, explaining “(t)he sources of finance of Daesh and al-Nusra Front have been cut off.”

April 26 marks the 30th anniversary of the 1986 Chernobyl disaster. An explosion and fire spread huge amounts of cancer-causing radiation over a vast area - a disaster exceeded only by Japan’s Fukushima nuclear meltdown.
Nuclear expert Helen Caldicott called it “by orders of magnitude many times worse than Chernobyl.” The effects of both catastrophes are being felt by countless millions.
Caldicott called denial about Chernobyl’s widespread deadly effects “one of the most monstrous cover-ups in the history of medicine.” Everyone should know the truth, she stressed.
A 2009 New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS) study said Chernobyl killed around one million people and counting. Seven years later it’s likely many more.

After promising no US boots on the ground in Iraq and Syria, over 4,000 were deployed to Iraq, unknown numbers to Syria, another 250 or more coming on the phony pretext of combating ISIS.
US responsibility for naked aggression in both countries rages while Obama maintains the fiction of pursuing peace.
He touted the anti-consumer, anti-democratic, anti-environmental Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) - empowering corporate predators to rule the world unhindered if enacted.
He addressed “the people of Europe” his usual way - substituting misinformation and Big Lies for straight talk and hard truths.

On April 27th, NATO member-state Turkey, which on 24 November 2015 had shot down a Russian Su-24 fighter jet near the Syria-Turkey border, refused Russia’s request to investigate Turkey’s having murdered the surviving Russian pilot. (The plane’s weapons-systems officer was rescued, but the pilot was shot dead while parachuting down from the plane.) Turkey admits having in custody the man, Alparslan Celik, who murdered the parachuting pilot. On April 25th, Turkish authorities had said that they might try Celik for murder; but, now, the Turkish Ambassador in Moscow says Turkey won't.
Also related to the step-up to war, Russia has reported on April 25th, that it's responding to America’s recently announced quadrupling of its troops and armaments in the Baltic republics on and near Russia’s northwestern Black Sea borders, by Russia's sending “more than ten” warships of its own to coastal waters there, for “training exercises,” just as the U.S. troops and weapons are likewise there for “training exercises”, as both sides prepare for an increasingly likely war between NATO and Russia.

Malia Bouattia has become the first Black Muslim president of the National Union of Students winning 50.9 per cent of the vote. The Jews are upset. Bouattia won despite an orchestrated Jewish campaign against her. 50 Jewish student leaders wrote an open letter saying that they were “extremely concerned” by her views amid rising extremism and anti-Semitism on campus.
Bouattia has criticised “Zionist-led media outlets.” Jewish student leaders complained that in her prior role as a member of the NUS’s executive committee, Ms Bouattia blocked the Union from passing a motion condemning ISIS, calling it “Islamophobic.” If anything, this makes Bouattia a philo-Semite rather than an anti Semite.

US-installed Ukrainian putschists have no legitimacy. Deputy NATO Secretary-General/former US Defense Secretary for International Affairs Alexander Vershbow runs the alliance, Jens Stoltenberg a figurehead leader.
Days earlier, Vershbow affirmed NATO’s support for the US created monster, sharing a 1,500 mile land and sea border with Russia, a cancer in central Europe, a dagger targeting Russian Federation’s heartland, a flashpoint risking global war.
He spoke at the Kiev Security Forum, featuring Russia bashing, suppressing hard truths, substituting misinformation and Big Lies, repeating the tired old canard about “Russia’s annexation of Crimea,” ignoring the right of its people to self-determination, their overwhelming reunification choice.
“…I’d like to talk about what NATO is doing in response to (nonexistent) Russia(n) aggression,” he blustered. Crimea is legally part of Russia, affirmed under international law, not according to Vershbow, turning truth on its head, calling its newest republic militarily occupied.
He repeated the Big Lie about nonexistent Russian aggression in Donbass, called a US-installed Nazi-infested failed state on a path “aimed at building an open, prosperous and pluralistic society.”
He ignored its US-supported war on Donbass, currently low-level, perhaps headed toward resuming full-blown. Its regime is hugely corrupt, its economy bankrupt, teetering toward collapse, its people ruthlessly oppressed.

Icebergs are breaking away from Antarctica. Greenland's ice sheet is melting. Global sea levels are rising and temperatures are getting hotter worldwide. Arctic ice is thinning. The ocean's surface layer is warming. Methane gas releases from permafrost and fracking as well as CO2 emissions are polluting the air. Mammals and other species are becoming extinct at an accelerating rate. All this environmental change is occurring now on our watch.
Nature itself, it appears, will likely "force our hand" to make necessary behavioral changes toward sustainability. At least one question remains open: At that future moment in space-time will global ecological circumstances have been so profoundly degraded and dissipated by patently unsustainable human activities that coordinated human action on a global scale, conceived by a seemingly sudden transformation of collective human consciousness of our global predicament, leave us without so much as a chance of establishing sustainable lifestyles and right-sized corporate enterprises on the planet? I have not abandoned hope that somehow my generation can still be a force for making necessary changes rather than the first generation that will not even be remembered. Now my generation of elders is flailing around, "jousting at windmills" and related climate destabilization issues. We abjectly refuse to recognize that deleterious global warming is caused primarily by the human overpopulation of Earth. If we continue to ignore this primal cause of abrupt climate change, how on Earth can anyone expect us to enable solutions to the visible threats to future human well being and environmental health with which we are confronted?

Hillary Clinton’s major result was produced while she was the U.S. Secretary of State, her refusing at that time to call the coup in Honduras on 28 June 2009, a “coup.” By her refusing to call it a coup, the U.S. Government, under Barack Obama, was enabled to continue financial aid to the Honduran Government, and this financial aid, in turn, enabled the coup-installed regime to become stabilized and to remain in place, despite the rest of the world’s government’s having condemned it.
Here is one recent result of her action regarding Honduras: https://theintercept.com/2016/03/11/drugs-dams-and-power-the-murder-of-honduran-activist-berta-caceres/
This is how she did it — how she (with follow-through by the U.S. President) produced it: http://www.globalresearch.ca/hillary-clintons-six-foreign-policy-catastrophes/5509543?print=1
And this is what she says about it, in retrospect: http://www.salon.com/2016/04/15/hillary_clinton_is_lying_about_the_criminal_u_s_backed_coup_in_honduras_it_should_be_as_scandalous_as_libya/
In other words: She’s not apologetic about what she did and what its disastrous consequences were — she ignores them.

NATO is a global killing machine, a US dominated imperial tool, its mission polar opposite its claim about being a “political and military alliance for peace and security.”
Washington wants worldwide members and partners on all continents, prioritizes endless wars of aggression, wants all independent states replaced by pro-Western vassal ones.
Its agenda threatens world peace and security. Current NATO commander US General Philip Breedlove will step down as soon as General Curtis Scaparrotti’s nomination is approved to replace him.
In Thursday testimony before Senate Armed Services Committee members, he disgracefully called Russia America’s greatest threat - repeating Defense Secretary Ashton Carter’s Big Lie, saying military leaders “should keep everything” on the table, including use of force against nonexistent “Russian aggression.”
He ludicrously accused Putin of “deliberately trying to break up NATO,” saying if US European troops are put in harm’s way, he won’t hesitate to respond forcefully.

Richard Nixon’s similarities to Hillary Clinton are remarkable:
1: Both were highly successful politicians who had exceptionally negative net-approval ratings from the U.S. public, but were viewed highly favorably by the voters within their own Party.
2: Both were unsuccessful in their first run for the Presidency, but managed to come back and ran considerably more successful campaigns the second time around.
3: Both were highly distrusted, except by the voters within their own Party.
