Why Arab Refugees are Dehumanized at European Borders? Humanitarian Darkness Renewed

September 24th, 2015

Mahboob A Khawaja, PhD.

"It's perverse to treat people fleeing war and persecution as a threat to border security, and any country that follows this example is heading down a dangerous road." Amnesty International

Refugees Not Migrants Look for Humanitarian Compassion

Thousands and thousands of innocent victims of the Western-led wars are fleeing from prevalent deaths and destructions to relatively peaceful Europe. For decades, hopes of peace are dashed away by death and despair across the Arab world. The international institutionalized system of governance was supposed to protect the innocent victims from the scourge of wars. But global institutions are a failure to respond to humanitarian crises.

Jeremy Corbyn and the Jews

September 23rd, 2015

By Gilad Atzmon

The relationship between Jeremy Corbyn and British Jews can be summarized into a brief observation:

While Corbyn’s success represents a hugely popular shift within British political thinking, the orchestrated Jewish campaign against him is there to suggest that once again, Jews set themselves against the people they dwell upon.

The vastly growing popularity of Jeremy Corbyn amongst Brits can be easily explained. Following decades of cultural Marxist, divisive Identiterian politics and Zionist-Neocon domination within the British Left, Corbyn brings along a refreshing ideological alternative. Corbyn seems to re-unite the Brits. He cares for the weak. He opposes interventionist wars. He represents the return of the good old left as opposed to New Labour’s affinity with big money, choseness and exceptionalism. He cares for the students and the youth. He thinks about the future and promises to undo the damage created by Blair and Cameron. But as Britain sees the rise of a hugely popular ideological movement, many Jewish institutions see Corbyn as an arch enemy. They would prefer to see him gone and have used nearly every trick in the book to discredit him.

Propaganda Works: New Polls Show Most Americans Oppose Iran Nuclear Deal

September 23rd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Three recent polls show most Americans oppose what they know little about or what’s potentially at stake. More on this below.

The vast majority of Americans know virtually nothing about Iran, its history, culture, abhorrence of nuclear weapons and war, as well as its outreach to work cooperatively with all nations.

They’re the most over-entertained, uninformed people anywhere - despite easy access to online and other ways to understand major issues touching their lives directly, as well as learn how their government at all levels betrays them.

Palestinian Family Victimized by Immolation Ineligible for Compensation

September 23rd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Dawabsha family survivors aren’t afforded the same rights as Jews. Israel’s Property Tax and Compensation Fund Law (1961) provides monetary payments for property damage caused by terrorism.

Its Victims of Hostile Action Law (1970) provides compensation for bodily injuries suffered from terrorist attacks - as well as payments to family members of deceased victims.

Palestinians don’t qualify, only Jews, another example of a racist state, ignoring the rights of all people it’s obligated to protect.

Business As Usual Triumphs in Greek Election

September 23rd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

It’s all over but the postmortems. Western bankers, large investors and other corporate interests triumphed on Sunday as expected - over fairness, equity and justice.

Greece remains Troika occupied territory, its sovereignty and soul lost, its people assured of greater suffering than already, its economy strip-mined for profit, its deplorable status the future of Europe and America, headed toward becoming thirdworldized ruler-serf societies unfit to live in.

SRYIZA retained power by a larger than expected margin - with nearly all votes counted, achieving a 7.4% margin over New Democracy (35.5% to 28.1%).

Hirsh vs. Corbyn

September 23rd, 2015

Gilad Atzmon

In an open letter published in the Jewish Chronicle, notorious hard core Zionist David Hirsh advises the opposition leader what to do if he seeks ‘the trust of Jewish voters.’ As usual, Hirsh has produced an obscure document that reveals little other than the delusional level of Judeo-centrism symptomatic of Hirsh and his ilk.

Hirsh lists Corbyn’s ‘crimes:’ “You worked for Press TV, the Iranian regime's propaganda channel and you recommend Russia Today, Putin's version. You appear in cosy pictures with Hugo Chavez, with Hamas, with Gerry Adams (days after the Brighton bombing) and with Hezbollah. You said that Nato is the aggressor in Ukraine and that Daesh is no worse than the USA. You were the national chair of Stop the War even when it appeared to endorse the killing of British soldiers. You celebrated the anniversary of the Iranian revolution.”

Where there were massacres there are now power plants

September 23rd, 2015

By David Swanson

In the United States it's hard to imagine admiring an attorney general. The words call to mind people like Eric Holder, Michael Mukasey, Alberto Gonzales, John Ashcroft, Janet Reno, and Edwin Meese. There were those who fantasized that Barack Obama would not prevent an attorney general from prosecuting top officials for torture, but the idea of a U.S. attorney general prosecuting a U.S. president for war/genocide doesn't even enter the realm of fantasy (in part, because Americans don't even think of what the U.S. military does in the Middle East in those terms). For a lesson in daring to imagine equality before the law, we can turn our eyes toward Guatemala. Here's a country suffering under the Monroe Doctrine since the dawn of time, a place where the United States engaged in human experimentation giving syphilis to unwitting victims during the time that U.S. lawyers were prosecuting Nazis in Nuremberg. Guatemala had a relatively decent government in 1954 when the CIA overthrew it. U.S. destruction has been unremitting in Guatemala, with the U.S. government backing dictators, killers, and torturers, including during the 1980s and 1990s, a period from which Guatemala is still trying to recover.

33 years after the Sabra-Shatila Massacre Takfiri calls for “Intifada!” waft from Lebanon’s camps

September 23rd, 2015

Franklin Lamb

Shatila Palestinian camp, Lebanon

“Palestinians have no reliable friends Abu Ammar! This summer proved it! Where are the worthless Arabs? Only some foreign implanted “Resistance” elements that for their own hegemonic political purposes want to play the Palestinian card and wear your keffiyeh and pose for photos making the V for Victory sign! This disgusts me Abu Ammar! Palestinians must rely only on themselves. The PLO must return to “Revolution until Victory!” You should postpone your exit from Lebanon and you must protect the camps. Without the gun to protect them what does Reagan’s olive branch “we will give you back most of Palestine if you leave Beirut” convey? Nothing worth anything in my opinion”!

Thus was the plea to PLO leader Yassir Arafat, made 33 years ago by a distraught and prescient American journalist and Palestinian advocate from Atlanta, Georgia named Janet Lee Stevens. At the time she was four floors underground in Arafat’s Fakhani South Beirut bunker across from Arab University. She and her colleagues were secure from American bombs that rained down 12 hours that day from Zionist aggressors as she made her case.

The Sanhedrin Is Back With A Vengeance

September 22nd, 2015

William Hanna

“The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death, but they did not find any. Many testified falsely against him, but their statements did not agree.”

Mark 14:55

The earliest record of a Sanhedrin is by Josephus — a Romano-Jewish scholar, historian and biographer (37 - c. 100 CE) — who wrote of a political Sanhedrin convened by the Romans in 57 BCE. Hellenistic sources generally depict the Sanhedrin as a political and judicial council headed by the country’s ruler. Tannaitic (rabbinic works written from about 10 - 220 CE) sources describe the Great Sanhedrin as a religious assembly of 71 sages who met in the Chamber of Hewn Stones in the Temple of Jerusalem. They constituted the supreme religious body in the Land of Israel during that time and had their own equivalent of a police force with powers to arrest people, as was the case with Jesus Christ.

Near Zero Percent US Federal Funds Rate Since December 2008

September 22nd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Low rates benefit investors at the expense of savers, retirees and pensioners without paychecks needing income especially harmed. At near zero percent for nearly seven years, virtually none is forthcoming for most people.

Weeks of debate over whether a long overdue rate hike was forthcoming ended Friday when the Fed again left rates unchanged - the usual boilerplate given as reasons, “reaffirm(ing) its view that the current 0 to 1/4 percent target range for the federal funds rate remains appropriate.”

All Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) members agreed except Jeffrey Lacker - urging a 25 basis point increase. Greenspan/Bernanke/Yellen monetary policy has been a bonanza for Wall Street at the expense of Main Street.
