Ukraine: Rogue State Deadbeat

July 4th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Ukraine is Exhibit A for everything a nation shouldn't be. It's run by illegitimate, Nazi-infested putschists - lunatics risking war with Russia. It's a brutal dictatorship by any standard.

Its US-anointed president is an oligarch mega-crook war criminal. Its top officials look like an FBI most wanted list.

Corruption is the national pastime. So is police state ruthlessness and naked aggression on its own people.

Poroshenko finds new ways to disgrace himself. Earlier he claimed 10,000 Russian soldiers on Ukrainian territory. Now he says, "on Putin's order, there are 200,000 men and an arsenal of armored vehicles, sophisticated missile systems and anti-air arms amassed in our territory."

Offended Hospital Causes 5 Month Old To Be Taken From Parents

July 3rd, 2015

[Editors Note: Offended Hospital Causes 5 Month Old To Be Taken From Parents is the first in a series of articles about The Corrupt Business of the Child Protection Services in the United States. I am republishing these articles in an attempt to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives trying to fix a system that intentionally harms families and children in order to balance local and state budgets.

Martin Burns was a courageous advocate journalist who campaigned mightily for the protection of vulnerable children, especially those caught within the system. His brand of investigative journalism was known for its fearlessness and ferocity. He left no stone unturned in his quest to know what was really happening to children who wound up in the custody of Child Protective Services.

Child abuse is a horrific act, no matter how you define it. Which explains 1) why we have so many laws, and public and private agencies, set up specifically with the charge to protect children and maintain their safety and 2) why so much funding is directed toward this goal.

However, what most of us do not know is that the money funneled to states and child protective services actually encourages them to accuse you of child abuse. The Child Protective Services agencies throughout the United States have a not so hidden financial agenda to take your children, even if you’re not guilty, and even though they have absolutely no proof that you harmed your child, in order to order to balance local and state budgets. Click here to read How Child Abuse Laws Were Written To Help Balance State And County Budgets.

Only by understanding that YOU as a taxpayer are benefiting directly from this abuse can the defects of the CPS system be appropriately addressed. End of Editor Note]

CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES: Fails To Protect And Sometimes Endangers Children Nationwide

July 3rd, 2015

In Some Cases Abused Children Are Actually Kept Or Put In Harm’s Way
By Concerned Citizen Advocates For Abused Children

If you knew a young child was being physically abused — routinely — in their home, what would you do about it?

If you became aware that an adolescent girl was subjected to a pattern of sexual abuse by a family member, what would your reaction be?

If you were informed that a neighborhood baby’s most basic needs were being neglected because of chronic drug and alcohol abuse by an unemployed single parent, how would you respond?

Believe it or not, these 3 situations are commonly reported to Child Protective Services and yet sometimes ignored or mishandled in such a way that it is the abused child that continues to suffer their plight.

Consider, for instance, the following report and excerpt which portrays a pervasive CPS predicament that is far more widespread than acknowledged, even by this investigative report.

Dozens of CPS caseworkers caught lying, falsifying documents

When Child Protective Services received a complaint that a Harris County father had choked his teenage daughter, caseworker Michelle Robinson said she hurried to the house, conducted a thorough investigation, determined there was no merit to the allegations and closed the case.

Except she didn’t. In October, a Harris County jury convicted Robinson for falsifying CPS records, concluding that she’d lied when she said she’d interviewed key sources in the case and that she left the young girl in danger. Robinson was sentenced to a year of probation and ordered to pay a $300 fine.

Sunday's Referendum in Greece

July 3rd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

On the one hand, plebiscites reflect democracy in action - provided the will of the people becomes policy. On the other, governments serving all its citizens equitably and fairly don't need referendums to confirm policies in place most people support.

Modern Greece has been ruled by generals or political leaders serving vested interests, not popular ones. SYRIZA proved it's no different from the rest - promising one thing, doing another. If hardline governance replaces it in snap elections, its officials have themselves to blame. On Sunday, Greeks are asked to vote up or down on whether to accept or reject greater Troika demanded austerity in return for bailout help - in convoluted language perhaps leaving many people unsure which to choose.

Corporations vs. Entrepreneurship

July 3rd, 2015

James Hall

The corporate culture would have you believe that it is the foremost structure of the economy. That the entrepreneur is a nuisance and is tilting at windmills. Since competition is a dirty word, the innovative venture poses no threat, but might qualify as an acquisition. Only if the business model is such that duplicating the endeavor is too time consuming or difficult will the corporatist take interest. Yet, in the end, the design of the corporate organization is more about brute force than creative invention. So why is it so difficult for the enterpriser to get their project off the ground? And what is the compelling motivation to start your own business?

Troika Plan for Greece: Endless Pillage and Regime Change

July 3rd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Banker-controlled Troika officials intend using Greece as a model for what's intended across Europe - devastating neoliberal harshness creating a continental dystopian wasteland for ordinary people.

Greece is being systematically raped and pillaged. It's economy contracted over 25% since crisis conditions erupted in 2008. More than a million jobs were lost.

Overall unemployment exceeds 25% - for youths it's 60%. College educated and other young people have no futures in Greece. Its best and brightest are leaving en masse.

Workers lucky to have jobs receive lower or frozen pay along with few or no benefits. Vitally needed social services are disappearing altogether.

Tsipras Surrenders to Troika Demands

July 3rd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Since becoming Greek Prime Minister in January, Tsipras proved he's like all the rest - promising one thing, doing another.

Overnight Tuesday, his public posturing again proved hollow. After calling Troika demands "unacceptable" and urging Greeks reject them with a "resounding NO" in Sunday's plebiscite, he capitulated to most of what he previously opposed.

Things remain fast-moving. Hours earlier, the Financial Times obtained a letter he sent Troika officials. It called his new proposal "a significant climbdown from his previous position." It destroyed what little credibility he had left.

CNN: Obama White House Lied ‘We Didn’t Know About Hillary’s Private Email’

July 3rd, 2015

Eric Zuesse

On July 1st, CNN reported that "President Barack Obama's top aides, including David Axelrod, communicated with Hillary Clinton at her private email address while she was secretary of state,” and that, "Obama officials — including Axelrod — had said they were unaware Clinton was using a personal email address.” CNN provided no linked source for their allegation that Axelrod didn’t know (nor juxtaposed his statement which contradicted it); however, what CNN said there was indeed accurate, so far as it went, as one can tell simply by clicking onto this link:

More Proof of Israeli Ruthlessness

July 3rd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Endless examples provide voluminous evidence of Israeli rogue state viciousness against defenseless Palestinians - trapped by the scourge of state terror.

On Thursday, the Palestinian Prisoners' Society (PPS) said Israeli security force thugs lawlessly detained around 550 Hebron district Palestinians from January through June.

Over 100 youths were targeted along with seven women. Around 225 were imprisoned uncharged and untried - including 78 "fac(ing) a real life threat" because of denied medical treatment, according to PPS' Amjad Najjar.

Israel routinely treats Palestinian detainees "savage(ly) and inhuman(ely)," he explained. Multiple daily security force community incursions result in numerous lawless arrests - state terror by any standard entirely for political reason.Targeted Palestinians committed no crimes. Israel lies claiming they engaged in illegal activity, including violence or terrorism.

No Deal as June 30 Iranian Nuclear Talks Deadline Arrives

July 2nd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Washington remains the obstacle to successfully concluding - so-called P5+1 negotiations. Instead of sticking to preliminary April Lausanne parameters for final consummation of unresolved issues, new ones were raised contrary to what was agreed on earlier.

Longstanding US hostility toward Iran remains unchanged. Current talks haven't improved relations. Washington wants Tehran's government toppled. It wants its sovereignty destroyed. It wants a puppet regime installed like under the Shah.

Years of nuclear talks reflect red-herring cover for America's real objective. Whatever may or may not be agreed on in current talks, hardline US policy toward Iran remains unchanged.
