Palestinian Solidarity Day of Rage

November 8th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

Israeli Al-Aqsa Mosque policy triggered mass protests. Other reasons include Operation Protective Edge ruthlessness.

Settlement construction. Institutionalized racism. Treating Palestinians like subhumans. Peace process hypocrisy.

Targeted killings. Terrorizing community incursions. Mass arrests. Brutalizing political imprisonments. Torture. Settler violence and vandalism. Overall occupation harshness.

Decades of pent up outrage ignited public anger. People endure so much before exploding. Justifiably expressing rage.

Israeli Iron Fist Ruthlessness

November 8th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

Israel operates extrajudicially. Rule of law principles don't matter. Nonexistent security threats justify anything goes.

Palestinians are victimized for wanting to live free. Demanding fundamental civil and human rights everyone deserves.

Protesting throughout the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Largely peacefully.

Israel considers legitimate resistance "terrorism." Justifying iron fist harshness.

"We will respond to any attempt to undermine the order and stability of Israel's capital with an iron fist," Netanyahu said. Warning of "a prolonged battle."

Kiev Wants War, not Peace

November 7th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

Fascists operate this way. Abhoring democracy. Wanting it prohibited at all costs. Going all-out to prevent it.

Intending nationwide hardline rule. With full US support and encouragement.

Agreements Kiev signs aren't worth the paper they're written on. Worthless documents. Systematically breached straightaway. Fascism writ large and then some.

All take. No give. Mindless of rule of law principles, norms and standards.

Russia's Foreign Ministry accused Kiev of violating last April's four-party (US/EU/Russia/Ukraine) agreement. Straightaway. Multiple additional times.

ICC Whitewashes Israeli Mass Murder

November 7th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

On May 31, 2010, Israeli commandos committed premeditated murder. Killing nine Turkish humanitarian activists in cold blood.

In international waters. Bringing vitally needed aid to besieged Gazans.

A Human Rights Council investigation followed. Bashing Israel's "outrageous attack on aid ships attempting to breach a blockade on the Gaza Strip."

Committing high-seas "piracy, (an) act of aggression, (a) brutal massacre, (an) act of terrorism, (a) war crime, (a) crime against humanity, unprovoked...unwarranted...atrocious, (and) brutal."

Humanitarian activists were "peaceful, innocent, noble, unarmed, (and) defenseless."

US Electoral Postmortems

November 7th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

US elections mock legitimacy. Farcical by any standard. Meaningless kabuki theater.

Entrenched duopoly power alone represented. Big Money controlled. Debauched beyond repair.

Candidates bought like toothpaste. Interchangeable pre-selected, pre-packaged cardboard cutouts.

Mindless of popular interests. Shamelessly ignored. Disappearing in plain sight.

No matter which duopoly power wing controls things. Both replicating each other. On issues mattering most.

Including corporate empowerment. Advancing America's imperium. Waging permanent wars. Enforcing police state harshness.

Peace Talks in Havana and Murder in Colombia: The Santos Regime’s Dual Strategy

November 6th, 2014

James Petras

Introduction

There are many fabrications and false assumptions underlying the Colombia peace negotiations between the Santos regime and FARC – EP (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia – Peoples Army). The first and most egregious is that Colombia is a democracy. The second is that the Santos regime pursues policies which enhance non-violent social and political activity conducive to integrating the armed insurgency into the political system.

There is sufficient evidence to call into question both assumptions. Over the past two decades and a half nearly three thousand trade union leaders and activists have been murdered; over 4.5 million peasants have been dispossessed and displaced by the military and paramilitary forces; and over nine thousand political prisoners are being held indefinitely for engaging in non-violent socio-political activity. In addition scores of human rights lawyers, activists and advocates have been assassinated.

HRW and AI Blast Israeli War Crimes

November 6th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

State-sponsored terrorism is official Israeli policy. High crimes against peace repeat with disturbing regularity.

Operation Protective Edge is the latest example. Cold, calculated, premeditated naked aggression against largely defenseless Gazan civilians.

One of the world's most powerful militaries against lightly armed self-defense forces. A ruthless killing machine. A mismatch writ large and then some.

Mass murdering civilians in cold blood is the highest of high crimes. Israeli wars without mercy consider them legitimate targets. Waged at its discretion. Based on Big Lies.

Committing slow-motion genocide against millions of Palestinians. Daily for decades. Denying free movement, free expression and public assembly.

Force-feeding economic strangulation, collective punishment, state terror, racist oppression, land theft, targeted assassinations, mass arrests, torture, lawless imprisonments, traumatizing neighborhood incursions, roadblocks, checkpoints, electric fences, separation walls, curfews, and numerous other human and civil rights abuses and indignities.

US Midterm Electoral Results

November 6th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

Ignore scoundrel media who won, who lost horserace rubbish. US electoral politics is too debauched to fix. Big money corrupts it.

Democracy is pure fantasy. None whatever exists. Most bums are reelected. New ones replace others.

Things change but stay the same. Special interests rule. People have no say. US-style democracy mocks the real thing. Key points bear stressing.

Fact: America's electoral process is farcical.

Fact: Kabuki theater.

Fact: Illegitimate by any democratic standard.

Blaming Victims: Official Israeli Policy

November 6th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

Decades of Israeli state terror takes its toll. Blow back follows. In various forms.

Victims enraged about Israeli ruthlessness react with just cause. Whatever ways they can.

Some peacefully. By protesting, marching and/or denouncing repressive treatment publicly.

Others violently. Perhaps out of longstanding pent up frustration. A ticking time bomb ready to explode.

On Wednesday, Israeli police spokeswoman Luba Samri said "(a) commercial vehicle hit and ran over pedestrians at a light rail station."

On the Green Line between West and East Jerusalem. Killing a policeman. Injuring 14 others.

After exiting his vehicle, border police shot alleged attacker Ibrahim Muhammad Daoud al-Akkari to death. No day in court. No due process. No judicial fairness.

NATO Wants More Troops to Counter Nonexistent Russian Threat

November 5th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg- "Washington's man at NATO"

New NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg mimics his predecessor. A convenient US stooge. A CIA asset.

Beholden to America's imperial interests. Mindless of rule of law principles. Repeating one Big Lie after another.

Wrongfully claiming Donbas democratic elections were unlawful. Shamelessly accusing Russia of threatening Ukraine's border.

Groundlessly saying it "continues to support, train and equip" Donbas self-defense forces. Ludicrously "call(ing) on Russia to make genuine efforts toward a peaceful solution."

No country anywhere did more for it responsibly since conflict erupted in Ukraine. None exerted more genuine efforts tirelessly.

Polar opposite Washington's rage for war. Along with its rogue NATO partners.

What Stoltenberg didn't explain. Washington's man at NATO. A convenient US stooge. Chosen for that reason. For sure not for world peace.
