ISIS IS NOW OBAMA'S (ORWELL'S) PERMANENT WAR

September 28th, 2014

Allen L Roland, Ph.D

Barack Obama is now the leader of George Orwell's contemporary Oceania. In two 2009 speeches the Nobel Peace Prize winner affirmed that peace was no longer peace, but rather a permanent war that "extends well beyond Afghanistan and Pakistan" to "disorderly regions and diffuse enemies". He called this "global security". To the people of Afghanistan, which America had invaded and occupied, he said: "We have no interest in occupying your country" So get used to it, in Obama's Oceania the truth and lies are indivisible and war is a deadly and permanent reality. The Islamic State (ISIS), much like Al Qaeda, is a made-in-the-USA product, an instrument of terror designed to divide and conquer the oil-rich Middle East as well as counter Iran’s growing influence in the region.

How come there is no international alliance against Nazi Israel?

September 28th, 2014

By Khalid Amayreh

I am not particularly infatuated with the IS group. However, the pretension that its enemies represent virtue, civility and justice is beyond the pale.

True, the IS may have adopted some despicable tactics against its foes.

But the United States, which assumes the role of world leader, is definitely a million times more savage, more barbaric and more nefarious in comparison to the IS.

The same thing can also be said about Shiite thugs in Iraq and Syria, who have committed every imagined crime against innocent people, especially Sunni Muslims.

Does the world have any doubt about the diabolical nature of Bashar al-Assad? Doesn't the murder of 200,000 Syrian civilians at the hands of this thug carry any weight or influence on the decision-making process in America and Europe? It seems it doesn't.

Bombs Away: Official US Policy

September 28th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

Throughout its sordid history, America waged war, not peace. It's done so at home and abroad. It's addicted to war.

Without mercy. Permanent wars. Endless ones. Lawless ones. Ruthless ones. Against invented enemies. None existed since WW II.

They're manufactured out of whole cloth. None threaten America. Washington's wars are preemptive.

Aggressive. Extrajudicial. Without just cause. Victims are blamed for US crimes. New World Order diktats determine policy.

America's culture is violent. It glorifies wars in the name of peace. Pacifism is considered sissy.

Wars, economic turmoil and financial terrorism play out in real time. So do other upheavals.

Nothing happens accidentally. Events are manipulated strategically. At issue is carving up whole continents for profit.

Britain: Washington's Convenient Pawn

September 28th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

Brits are at it again. "Cameron plays Tony Blair," said Patrick Cockburn. His "government has no more idea of what it is getting into…than Blair…in 2003."

It's mindless. It sucks up to Washington shamelessly. It's a convenient pawn.

It's an imperial tool. It partners with American adventurism. It does so lawlessly.

Its post-9/11 US war alliances proved disastrous. Repeating failure defines insanity: Continuing failed policies. Expecting different results.

Tories, New Labour and Lib Dems voted overwhelmingly to partner with Obama's war on Iraq. They approved a lawless imperial motion 523 to 43. Another 69 MPs abstained.

ISIS and the USA: Expansion and Resistance by Decapitation

September 27th, 2014

James Petras

Introduction

In order to overcome massive US and world public opposition to new wars in the Middle East, Obama relied on the horrific internet broadcasts of ISIS slaughtering two American hostages, the journalists James Foley and Steve Sotloff, by decapitation. These brutal murders were Obama’s main propaganda tool to set a new Middle East war agenda – his own casus belli bonanza! This explains the US Administration’s threats of criminal prosecution against the families of Foley and Stoloff when they sought to ransom their captive sons from ISIS.

With the American mass media repeatedly showing the severed heads of these two helpless men, public indignation and disgust were aroused with calls for US military involvement to stop the terror. US and EU political leaders presented the decapitations of Western hostages by the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) as a direct and mortal threat to the safety of civilians in the US and Europe. The imagery evoked was of black-clad faceless terrorists, armed to the teeth, invading Europe and the US and executing innocent families as they begged for rescue and mercy.

Obama Wants Regime Change in Russia

September 27th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

Paul Wolfowitz said Washington's "first objective is prevent(ing) the re-emergence of (rival states), either on the territory of the former Soviet Union or elsewhere."

Paul Craig Roberts defines rival as "any country (able to defend) its interests or those of its allies against Washington's hegemon(ic)" ambitions.

America demands unipolar/New World Order dominance. It demands all nations bow to its will, or else!

It targets independent ones for regime change. Either by coups, targeted assassinations or wars of aggression. Obama pursues multiple regime change objectives. He's done so throughout his tenure. Paul Craig Roberts calls him "the world's worst terrorist."

He elevated state terrorism to an unprecedented level. He gave it new meaning. He has lots more mass slaughter and destruction in mind.

Obama's Demagogic UN Address

September 26th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

He didn't surprise. His address lasted a mind-numbing 45 minutes. He made painful listening.

All his speeches feature demagogic mumbo jumbo Big Lies. They drown out truth.

Two years ago, he lied about Libya. He claimed US-led NATO intervened to "cope with violent conflict, care for the wounded, and craft a vision for the future in which the rights of all Libyans would be respected."

He "supported the birth of a new democracy…Libyans held elections…(They) built new institutions…(They) move(d) forward after decades of dictatorship."

Truth is polar opposite Obama's Big Lies. Libya was Africa's most developed country. Most Libyans supported Gaddafi.

They did so for good reasons. Libya was a model social justice society.

Gaddafi used its oil wealth responsibly. He provided free healthcare, education and other vital benefits.

The Next Attorney General Should Enforce the Rule of Law, Protect Constitutional Rights and Investigate Abuse of Power

September 26th, 2014

Kevin Zeese, Shadow Attorney General

Eric Holder’s tenure as attorney general will be remembered for the failure to prosecute any leading bankers who were responsible for the collapse of the economy. While the SEC negotiated large fines, the DOJ prosecuted none of those who were guilty of crimes that robbed the wealth of tens of millions of Americans. The failure to prosecute bankers was one example of many where corporate power dominated the DOJ on finance, environmental, labor and other issues. This should have been an era of aggressive enforcement of corporate crime, instead corporate criminals were rarely investigated.

Extinction Via Biotic Pollinators' Water Pollution

September 26th, 2014

By Tracy Turner

How many gallons of water are required to produce one 250 ml bottle of bottled water? How many acre feet of water are required to produce one Ikea kitchen, installed?

The closest answer found so far is Blaine Hanson Department of Land, Air and Water Resources University of California, Davisbrhanson@ucdavis.edu a 34-page pdf located here.

When the subject of Peak Water comes up most people do not think of Industrialization or empty swimming pools filled with chemicals that drain into the sewers. Few think of Waste Water, Industrial Water, Drinking Water, Desalination of Water, Membrane and Ozone Costs and Overhead and Sustainability. Each doubling of Earth’s population is happening in one-half the previous increment of time; each doubling of factory farming, and of industrialization halves the amount of safe water. One other way of looking at it is each doubling of factory farming pesticides and medical waste doubles the requirements for ozonification and filter membranes * for bees *. Many amateur articles on bees pose imminent extinctions as a question (will bees go extinct rather than when will bees go extinct). The worst articles compare pounds of honey by state rather than numbers of pollinators out in the crops. Put bluntly, will you be counting cheap gallons of propane for your truck, bags of almonds and jars of honey when your germplasm goes extinct?

Reactions to Obama's UN Address

September 26th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

A separate article discussed it. He didn't surprise. Demagogic mumbo jumbo Big Lies drowned out truth.

Not according to media scoundrels. The New York Times finds new ways to lie, distort and misreport.

It substitutes managed news misinformation rubbish for hard truths. It's longstanding Times policy.

It ludicrously called Obama a "once-reluctant warrior…" It ignored his war on humanity throughout his tenure. His naked aggression.

His ravaging and destroying one nation after another. His latest Iraq and Syrian aggression. The Times turned truth on its head.

It highlighted Obama's "muscular new course." His vow to "dismantle the Islamic State's 'network of death.' "

He created it. It's a valued US ally. Pentagon special forces and CIA operatives train its fighters in Jordan and Turkey.
