LEAVING A SCORCHED INDIA

March 13th, 2014

Arun Shrivastava CMC

Prime Minister‟s approval of GM food and Environment Minister Moily‟s disregard for rules, illegally permitting open field trials of 120 food crops will destroy India at genetic level. In an election year Manmohan Singh is leaving behind a scorched India. A blind, deaf, dumb and bigoted Prime Minster said „the government should not succumb to unscientific prejudices against GE seeds and foods.‟ [1] Manmohan Singh said, „use of biotechnology has great potential to improve yields.‟ [2] Actually this unscientific, prejudiced and utterly spineless PM backed a failed technology. Behind his rise to infamy and many treasonous acts since 1991 is conspiring with the US Government and the European Globalists who desire to cull the global population to about 1 billion, not even sparing their own people. His desperate effort to release GMO food crops will turn India into a dead land with sterile population within a few decades.

The De-Education of America

March 13th, 2014

By Dennis Nappi II

These students are suffering and they don’t realize why, which may very well be the anticipated outcome of this agenda: ignorance of the force working to repress the minds of our students.

America is facing a very real threat. The very future of this country is in jeopardy, and our ability to change our current course is being diminished by the day. We have a silent enemy who hides in the shadows and quietly dismantles everything we once stood for. The American dream has become a nightmare as this silent threat has broken down our best line of defense against it: education. Education offers a promise of change and a promise of a brighter future for our children. But that possibility is now being denied to our students, especially those in urban and poor districts.

Polio Continues To Be A Major Threat For Millions Of Children

March 13th, 2014

by Brian McAfee

While great strides have been taken in ridding the world of polio there are four countries where the disease continues to endanger the lives of children. The countries where the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF have confirmed the existence of and are now immunizing children from polio are Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nigeria and Syria.

Pakistan has had the most reported cases. In 2013 there were 93 reported cases of polio, so far in 2014 there have been 24 new cases. Health workers that have been vaccinating Pakistani children have been targeted by the Taliban and other Islamic fundamentalists. Over 40 health workers and police monitoring their safety have been killed since December of 2012. In spite of the risks health workers from UNICEF and the WHO and other aid organizations continue to work under potentially dangerous conditions. Last month Islamic scholars from the Islamic Advisory Group gave an official declaration that "Shariah allows polio vaccinations". Despite this proclamation polio workers continue to be attacked.

Dueling East/West Agendas on Ukraine

March 13th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

Washington's Ukrainian agenda is polar opposite Moscow's. It's irresponsible. It's unjustifiable. It's typical our way or else posturing.

Reports suggest it's in two parts. It calls for Moscow to halt Crimean annexation efforts.

It wants demobilization of legitimately deployed Russian troops related to its Black Sea Fleet as well as Crimea's self-defense force.

It wants a so-called contact group established. Included would be Washington, representatives of EU nations, Russia and Ukraine's illegitimate Kiev government.

Crimea Declares Independence

March 12th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

On March 11, Crimean parliamentarians along with Sevastopol ones separately adopted declarations of independence. Judicial procedures for becoming part of Russia require it.

On March 16, Crimeans vote. They'll have their say. They'll do so by referendum.

They'll decide up or down whether to declare independence and join Russia. Polls show overwhelming support for doing so.

Russian parliamentarians endorsed their legitimate right. Claims about acting lawlessly are false.

On March 21, they'll consider legislation on making annexation easier. A lower house State Duma statement said:

"This date has been proposed for the first reading by the Committee for Constitutional Legislation and Nation-Building."

Obama’s Ukrainian Power Grab, Sanctions and the Boomerang Effect

March 11th, 2014

James Petras

Introduction

In the biggest power grab since George Bush seized Eastern Europe and converted it into a NATO bastion confronting Russia, the Obama regime, together with the EU, financed and organized a violent putsch in the Ukraine which established a puppet regime in Kiev.[1] In response the citizens of the autonomous Crimean region, fearing the onslaught of cultural and political repression, organized self-defense militia and pressured the administration of Russian President Vladimir Putin to help protect them from armed incursions by the NATO-backed coup regime in Kiev.[2] Russia responded to the Crimean appeal with promises of military assistance - effectively halting further Western absorption of the entire region.

Yatsenyuk Comes to Washington

March 11th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland calls him Yats. He's coming to Washington.

He'll arrive on Wednesday. He'll meet his new boss. He'll do so at the White House. He'll get marching orders. He'll learn more about Obama's plans for Ukraine. More on his visit below.

He's Ukraine's illegitimate prime minister. He serves its xenophobic, ultranationalist, neo-Nazi, hate-mongering, anti-Semitic, coup d'etat regime. A rogue's gallery of societal misfits runs it.

He's a natural. He's super-rich. He's a former central banker/economy/foreign minister and parliament (Verkhovna Rada) speaker.

He betrayed his people. He sold out for greater wealth and power. He's a Batkivshchya/All-Ukrainian Union (Fatherland) leader.

Billionaire mega-thief Yulia Tymoshenko heads it. She was imprisoned for embezzlement and serious "abuse of public office."

Putin on Ukraine

March 11th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

He gave a wide-ranging interview. It's the first extensive one he's given. He did so forthrightly. He did it responsibly. He covered important ground.

Ukraine is the most serious geopolitical crisis since WW II. Kiev neo-Nazis usurped power. They reckless. They're dangerous. Putin understands well.

He knows Washington and EU partners back them. East/West tensions head toward exceeding the worst of Cold War years.

Putin met with media representatives. He suggested a format. "Let's have a conversation, rather than an interview," he said.

He spoke forthrightly. He tried addressing as many vital issues as possible. He assessed what's happening in Kiev and Ukraine overall.

There's only "one," major issue, he stressed. What happened "was an anti-constitutional takeover, an armed seizure of power."

US Private Military Contractors in Ukraine?

March 11th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

Reports suggest their presence in Eastern Ukraine. Perhaps Washington deployed Academi (formerly Xe Services/Blackwater USA) forces.

Jeremy Scahill's book titled "Blackwater: The Rise of the World's Most Powerful Mercenary Army" described the organization.

He called it a "shadowy mercenary company (employing) some of the most feared professional killers in the world accustomed to operating without worry of legal consequences (and) largely off the congressional radar."

It has "remarkable power and protection (within) the US war apparatus." It's well funded. It operates extrajudicially.

It's unaccountable. It's licensed to kill, terrorize, destroy and destabilize. It takes full advantage wherever its forces are deployed.

Heightened US/Russian Tensions

March 11th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

US-style diplomacy features bullying, bluster and coercion. Cowing other nations to comply with its diktats is longstanding Washington policy. Outliers face stiff reprisals.

Post-9/11, former Bush Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage notorious warned Pakistan, saying: "You will either accept our carpet of gold or we will carpet-bomb you back to the Stone Age."

John Perkins was an "economic hit man." His job was plundering countries for profit. It's controlling their resources.

It's impoverishing them. It's bankrupting them. It's entrapping them in debt bondage. It's exploiting their people.

Nations refusing face major reprisals. Washington stops at nothing to achieve goals. Tactics include bullying, intimidation, punishing sanctions, assassinations, coups and lawless aggression.
