UN Report Unfairly Bashes Syria

February 10th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

Throughout many months of conflict, anti-Syrian propaganda proliferated. It continues without end. Misinformation is part of Washington's regime change strategy.

UN officials are involved. On January 27, a new report circulated. It's titled "Report of the Secretary-General on children and armed conflict in the Syrian Arab Republic."

It's maliciously one-sided. It doesn't surprise. Ban Ki-moon is a subservient US imperial tool. Blaming Syria for US-sponsored death squad crimes is standard practice.

The UN reports discusses "unspeakable" horrors. It falsely calls Syria's conflict "civil." There's nothing civil about it.

Syria was invaded. Assad responsibly defends his country's sovereignty. He's going all out to protect Syrians from death squad atrocities. He's wrongfully blamed for their crimes.

Unconstitutional Protect Academic Freedom Act

February 10th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

On February 6, Rep. Peter Roskam's (R. IL) press release headlined "Roskam, Lipinski Introduce Bipartisan Legislation to Protect Academic Freedom by Preventing Academic Boycott of Israel."

On February 6, HR 4009 was introduced. It was referred to committee. No further action so far was taken.

It's an outrageous anti-academic freedom measure. It's unconstitutional. It targets the American Studies Association (ASA).

It's the nation's oldest and largest organization involved in the interdisciplinary study of US culture and history.

Its members represent numerous academic fields. They include academics, researchers, librarians, as well as public officials and administrators.

Last December, they acted responsibly. They overwhelmingly endorsed an academic boycott of Israel.

Iranophobia

February 10th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

Beating up on Iran is longstanding US policy. It's a prime target of choice. Washington deplores independent governments.

It wants pro-Western ones replacing them. It doesn't care if they're democratic, despotic or anything in between. Subservience to Washington alone matters.

AIPAC wants Iran isolated. So do congressional hawks. Most House and Senate members oppose rapprochement.

It's hard knowing where Obama stands. His credibility is sorely lacking. He says one thing. He does another.

Is his interim nuclear agreement sincere? Does he favor ending 34 years of hostility? Does he want rapprochement? Or is what's ongoing more duplicity? The fullness of time will tell.

ADL Honors George Bush

February 10th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) is one of 52 Conference of Major American Jewish Organization (CPMAJO) Zionist groups.

It mocks legitimacy. It supports wrong over right. It disseminates Israeli propaganda. It promotes Jewish exceptionalism.

It smears Israeli critics. It outrageously calls them anti-Semites.

It's racist. It's demagogic. It's Islamophobic. Its hate-mongering is notorious. Its entire history is deplorable.

Bush is an unindicted war criminal. He represents the worst of America's dark side. He's pure evil writ large. More on his true legacy below.

On February 7, ADL gave him its highest honor. It's called the America's Democratic Legacy Award. It cited "his inspirational leadership in promoting democratic values worldwide."

Cold War Politics in Sochi

February 10th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

On February 6, the XXII Olympic Winter Games began. A geopolitically tense atmosphere prevails.

Security is extremely tight. It's prioritized for good reason. Terrorist attacks are possible. Don't discount potential Washington shenanigans.

Perhaps raining on Putin's parade is planned. Obama may want him embarrassed. False flags are a longstanding US tradition. Will Sochi be Washington's next target? The fullness of time will tell.

It's a virtual armed camp. Measures in place are unprecedented. Around $2 billion was spent on security.

Ahead of February 6, around 23,000 personnel assured proper measures were in place as planned.

Washington's Dirty Game

February 9th, 2014

Washington can't hide its dark side. It's too ugly to conceal. Its been exposed numerous times.

She's hardcore neocon. She's a career foreign service officer. She's worked with Democrat and Republican administrations.

Early in her career, she covered Russian internal politics at Washington's Moscow embassy.

She served on the Soviet Desk in Washington. She worked in the State Department's Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs. She served in Guangzhou, China.

Sandy Hook Hoax: Did It Go as Planned?

February 8th, 2014

By Robert Singer

[from R U Sandy or R U Hooked] Sandy Hook: Something doesn’t make sense...and I am not talking about a Hurricane named Sandy, an Island named Sandy that went missing in the South Pacific, a Connecticut elementary school named Sandy [Hook] or the YouTube, Sandy Hook Shooting HOAX and LIES exposing Robbie Parker smiling before going on camera named playing the part of a grieving parent.

Do you really believe all that free bandwidth exists in the world so that you can watch Robbie get into his acting mode before he gives his “B” performance as a grieving parent? Click here to watch the video. Do you hear him saying [around the sixth second] “.... do you want me to read the cards?"

Or what about the Associated Press/Newsday and the New York Daily News articles with conflicting accounts on whatreallyhappend at Sandy Hook?

December 15 AP reports: "Only the rifle was used on the victims," a statement supported by Dr. H. Wayne Carver II, Connecticut State’s chief medical examiner. Carver’s examination found that of the “seven autopsies he personally performed on Sandy Hook victims,” all of them had "three to 11 wounds apiece." Carver says that the gunman was able to reload so quickly because he used a “military-style rifle rigged with two taped magazines."

However, later the New York Daily News reports that of the three guns Adam Lanza is supposed to have brought to the school, “the rifle was left in the trunk.”

I am not interested in whether the deaths resulted from hundreds of rounds of .233 caliber bullets which were fired with deadly accuracy, in minutes by a "scrawny" 20-year-old with "a rifle” ... that was still in the trunk of his car in the parking lot.

Look, if the plan were to disarm American citizens by carrying out massacres like Sandy Hook, then why do they need so many of these Jokers?

I want to know why the Wayne Carver and Robbie Parker videos haven’t been removed for “National Security or Privacy Reasons?” Leaving them on the Web serves only one purpose: to convince the conspiracy theorists that this was some sort of black ops type false flag initiated and carried out with the long-term goal of disarming the American people. Put another way, I am suggesting that the public reaction/controversy/negative energy over the 2nd Amendment was not only anticipated but was the cornerstone and goal of the plan from the beginning. [End of excert from R U Sandy or R U Hooked]

The Sandy Hook massacre, the worst school shooting in U.S. history, could never have been a false-flag Hoax with crisis actors so Obama could get political support for a ban on assault weapons and water down the 2nd amendment.

Here's why. If the plan were to disarm American citizens by carrying out massacres like Sandy Hook, then you have to ask yourself, what is the point? What are Americans doing during Obama’s full-scale attack on the 2nd amendment?

Answer: They are arming themselves to the teeth. [1]

Note that Sandy Hook, like Aurora, Columbine and Tucson, were never a conspiracy about gun control or mental health; they were however, a conspiracy to instill fear, anxiety, apprehension and foster feelings of fear, resentment and rage in order to create negative energy. The National debate over the right to own an Ak-47 hunting rifle was the goal and planned from the beginning because the controversy was guaranteed to generate mass amounts of negative energy.

Bernanke at Brookings

Bernanke at Brookings

by Stephen Lendman

On January 31, he stepped down as Fed chairman. Janet Yellen replaced him. He's entering a new world of million-dollar book deals. He'll make $100,000 a pop speeches.

Expect appointments to corporate boards. CEOs value his rainmaking services.

On February 3, Brookings headlined "Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke to Join Economic Studies at Brookings."

He's a "Distinguished Fellow in Residence." He's affiliated with the Hutchins Center on Fiscal and Monetary Policy (HCFMP). On January 16, Brookings launched it.

Its board of trustees vice chair Glenn Hutchins contributed $10 million in seed money. He co-founded the multi-billion dollar private equity firm Silver Lake Partners. Guess what type policies HCFMP will endorse.

Farm Bill Fiasco

Farm Bill legislation awaits Obama's signature. It's imminent. On February 4, a White House statement said:

"Statement by the President"

Cornering a Brave Palestinian Man of Peace

February 7th, 2014

By Nicola Nasser*

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas stands now at a crossroads of his people’s national struggle for liberation and independence as well as of his political life career, cornered between the rock of his own rejecting constituency and the hard place of his Israeli occupying power and the US sponsors of their bilateral negotiations, which were resumed last July 29, despite his minesweeping concessions and backtracking “on all his redlines.”

Unmercifully pressured by both Israeli negotiators and American mediators, the elusive cause of peace stands about to loose in Abbas a brave Palestinian man of peace-making of an historical stature whose demise would squander what could be the last opportunity for the so-called two-state solution.
