Whatever media you read, you read that “Russia invaded Ukraine.” The lie is not limited to official narrative-controllers, such as the NY Times, Washington Post, Reuters, AP, Bloomberg, CNN. Wikipedia, NPR, ABC, CBS, NBC, BBC, Telegraph, Guardian. It appears in alternative media, such as the Epoch Times and Breitbart. Indeed, the lie is repeated as fact almost everywhere, in the houses of Congress, the UK Parliament, Wall Street, European media and governments.

The fact is there was no Russian invasion at all. Russian forces entered Donbas at the request of the two independent breakaway republics for help against the US-trained and equipped Ukrainian army and neo-Nazi militias that were about to invade Donetsk and Luhansk. The two independent republics requested Russia to return them to Russia in 2014 along with Crimea, but Putin refused the republics, taking only Crimea because it is the site of the Russian Black Sea fleet. Instead Putin placed his bet on the Minsk Agreement, which kept Donbas as part of Ukraine.

The United States just held a presidential election between two pro-war, militarist candidates, each of whom could have been expected to shift yet more funding into war preparations, to arm the genocide in Palestine, and to wage and threaten war with abandon. And yet peace was, as it often is, a deciding factor.

Many voters demanding peace were otherwise inclined to vote for Kamala Harris. Had she simply committed to ceasing to illegally arm just one war, she probably would have won.

Many voters demanding peace squinted their eyes hard enough to see peace in Donald Trump. Had he not mixed peace along with war into his word salad, he probably would have lost.

A poll published in May suggested that voters in swing states would be significantly more likely to vote for then-candidate Biden were he to embargo arms to Israel. A second poll from August showed the same (minus Biden). A third poll from September showed the same (for Harris).

Isolation has not prevented Kiribati from suffering the depradations of colonialism, militarism, and capitalism.

David Swanson asked me to write about Kiribati after I wrote to him to point out Costa Rica is not the only “full-fledged and totally independent country to be entirely demilitarized.” Kiribati, and other small countries I suspect, have no military. In Kiribati’s case this was a deliberate decision taken by the first President and Government of Kiribati as it was becoming Independent in 1979. Like Costa Rica it has almost certainly benefitted from that foundational decision. Many other newly independent ex British colonies suffered from coups and military rule as a result of the British policy of promoting nationhood on the British model: Westminster type parliament, independent judiciary, and a military force. It was interesting interviewing Sir Ieremia Tabai, the first President and a leading campaigner at the time when it was an issue, stating that the motivation was heavily economic – we are a small country with very little money so we can’t go wasting it on buying guns. If only more leaders would adhere to such basic commonsense!

But first of all a bit of an introduction to Kiribati, as most people have never heard of us and even fewer know much about us. Kiribati sits right in the middle of the Pacific Ocean but tending to the Western side. It is the only country in the world with a claim to be in all four hemispheres, north, south, east and west, spanning as it does the Equator and the 180 meridian, the International Date Line. There are 33 islands spread over 3000kms from west to east along the Equator. The population is currently 130,000 and rising fast, with more than half living in the capital Tarawa. The population is over 90% ethnically homogenous Micronesian, I-Kiribati, with its own language and unique culture. Kiribati dance is a unique cultural form and is central in the culture, an integral part of every occasion from the opening of Parliament to weddings, birthdays, and public holidays. It is one of the main ways in which the culture preserves itself, the Kiribati diaspora using it as an excuse to come together wherever they are and teach it to the children.

The nuclear narrative previously discussed atomic power from its origin in the Manhattan Project to its modern applications , which have been thoroughly implicated in racial and environmental injustice. Many consider nuclear power a technological marvel, the prospected clean energy of the future. Still, in reality, nuclear is far darker when we consider its historical and continuing impacts: uranium mining, nuclear testing, and waste disposal. The fallout from atomic development has disproportionately harmed marginalized communities, Indigenous peoples, and people of color. From the development of the atomic bomb in the United States to nuclear testing across the South Pacific and the Soviet Union, atomic energy has been part of a long history of exploitation, displacement, and environmental degradation. Nuclear power, in all of its forms, is steeped in systemic racism, ecological colonialism, and the exploitation of vulnerable communities.

I do see a problem with justifying the U.S. Civil War while recognizing the damage done by of regrettable dreams of vengeance...

I wasn’t going to read The Message by Ta-Nehisi Coates because I’m doing what I can to end the genocide and occupation, and because Coates seems like such a nice guy that it saddens me that he nonsensically defended the U.S. Civil War.

I’m very glad that I did read it. I did so because someone led me to believe that in it Coates changed his mind about the Civil War. This turned out to be a misunderstanding that grew out of the fact that in the book he does slightly change his mind about a different — much more popular — article that he had written in the same magazine, one about reparations.

I’m glad I read the book because it is full of useful information and perspectives on the life of the author, on racial injustice, on propaganda, and on rebellion. One insight in particular strikes me, and it is related to what Coates regrets about his article on reparations, namely his use of the example of German reparations to Israel.

Leaked files show top UK military figures conspired to carry out the Kerch bridge bombing, covertly train “Gladio”-style stay-behind forces in Ukraine, and groom the British public for a drop in living standards caused by the proxy war against Russia. Emails and internal documents reviewed by The Grayzone reveal details of a cabal of British military and intelligence veterans which plotted to escalate and prolong the Ukraine proxy war “at all costs.” Convened under the direction of the British Ministry of Defense in the immediate aftermath of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the cell referred to itself as Project Alchemy. As British leadership sabotaged peace talks between Kiev and Moscow, the cell put forward an array of plans “to keep Ukraine fighting” by imposing “strategic dilemmas, costs and frictions upon Russia.” The leaks obtained by The Grayzone expose a hidden hand behind Britain’s policy in Ukraine, showing in unusually granular detail how it aimed to engineer a long, grinding war through covert operations that stretched the bounds of legality.

Food. Churches. Chacha. This is what Georgia has long been known for. But now this ancient country, flanked by the mountains and the sea in the heart of the Caucasus, is the battleground in a new Not-So-Cold War. Due to its strategic location — it shares a large border with Russia to the north — the country has found itself caught up in the geopolitical power play between the West and Russia. And just like the Euromaidan revolt in Ukraine a decade ago, Georgia’s domestic politics have been framed in Nato circles as an existential fight. On one side sits the Georgian Dream, the allegedly pro-Russian ruling party, in power since 2012. On the other sits the opposition, avowedly pro-Western and pro-EU. Little wonder, then, that last week’s parliamentary elections have turned into a global event. As predicted by the polls, Georgian Dream won by a wide margin, securing over 53% of the vote. The four major opposition coalitions together managed less than 40%. There is no reason to believe that the vote was fixed: despite raising some concerns about pressure on voters, biased media coverage and an environment of political polarisation, independent observers found no evidence of electoral fraud, let alone of Russian interference.

Dr. Robert Redfield suggests that the virus was engineered in a lab and the US was involved. Despite various debunkings, the Western establishment is still policing Covid-19 narratives nearly five years later – even when the latest bombshell suggests a US national security coverup. Messages have been coming in from people who reside in and near Dnipro (Dnipropetrovsk) Ukraine, describing what it was like during and after the Russian ICBM attack. According to the messages, the Yuzhmash manufacturing plant was attacked. This was an industrial giant, the leader in rocket production in the former USSR. This plant manufactured many space and intercontinental missiles for the USSR. According to the messages, the Yuzhmash plant no longer exists. In its place there is now just a mountain of dust. In addition to ground level workshops where attack drones and rocket engines were currently manufactured, the plant had extensive underground workshops where missiles were assembled from Western components, which were stored and then labeled "Made in Ukraine." They say there were at least 3 sub-floor levels beneath ground level, each 6 meters high. Now, all of this is gone, there is just a pile of dust and rubble. Other messages describe the impact, saying "it was so strong that apartment buildings several kilometers from the plant cracked. Now there is no water or heating in the entire city - all the pipelines that ran underground cracked and failed." Other residents say "the explosion was like an earthquake. Everything was shaking, furniture was falling in people's houses, dishes were falling out of cupboards." Lastly, the messages confirm "Communications in houses are also out of order." All this from just ONE Russian ICBM missile without a nuclear warhead. It was merely conventional.

A transgender leftist who made violent threats to murder Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) and issued calls for author J.K. Rowling to be killed has been identified as a member of Antifa. The suspect has been identified as “Venus Andromeda Boyle,” Portland, Oregon Antifa member and transgender activist, The Post Millennial has reported. He was previously known as Joshua Ryan Matthew Boyle but legally changed his name on November 15, 2000. On November 19, a transgender using the screen name “Venuspeenis” posted graphic video death threats to Mace and J.K. Rowling.

World-renowned cardiologist Dr. Peter McCullough has warned the public that the government’s mass Covid “vaccination” push never had anything to do with “health.” In a bombshell new interview, Dr. McCullough asserts that governments around the world never sought to help people during the COVID-19 pandemic. On Saturday, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a bill into law that prohibits the adoption of Russian children by citizens of countries where gender transition surgery is legal. Russian lower house Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, who was one of the authors of the bill, in response to Putin signing the bill into law, shared, “It is extremely important to eliminate possible dangers in the form of gender reassignment that adopted children may face in these countries.” The adoption ban would apply to 15 countries, including Australia, Argentina, Canada, and several European countries. Russia previously banned citizens from the United States from adopting Russian children in 2012.

The Russian president is tired of holding himself back. Putin surprised the world on Thursday when he addressed the nation to announce that Russia had tested a new medium-range hypersonic missile in a strike on a famous Soviet industrial complex in the Ukrainian city of Dnepropetrovsk. He said it was a response to the recent US and UK authorization of Ukraine to use long-range missiles to strike Russian territory, a decision that has led to the NATO-Russia conflict in Ukraine “taking on elements of a global character.” As I explained, the latest phase of the conflict has led to a “moment of truth,” with the Russian president faced with a choice between escalation and continuing his policy of strategic patience. The first option could prevent Trump from reaching a peace agreement, while the second could provoke even more aggression. Putin chose the former, and in a creative way that few saw coming. JP Morgan and BlackRock, along with consultancy McKinsey & Company, are collaborating with the Ukrainian government to establish a reconstruction fund. The objective of this fund is to attract significant investments for the country’s reconstruction, which could cost between $400 billion and $1 trillion, depending on estimates. This fund, known as the Fund for the Development of Ukraine, will use a “blended finance” approach to mobilize both public and private capital, targeting priority sectors such as infrastructure, climate and agriculture.

BlackRock and JP Morgan offered their services pro bono to manage this fund, leveraging their expertise in financial markets and debt management. The intention is that this fund can begin to operate fully once the war ends, although planning is already underway and has been discussed at recent international conferences.

South Carolina Representative Nancy Mace responded to a protest by a transgender activist following an incident at a tech conference in Washington, D.C., as she is campaigning to ban transgenders from women’s bathrooms. Evan Greer, director of Fight for Freedom, interrupted Mace during her appearance at the “Summit on the Future of the Internet” held at Georgetown University. The protest was in opposition to Mace’s proposed legislation, which prevents transgender women from accessing women’s facilities on Capitol Hill. During the interruption, Greer accused Mace of spreading misinformation that contributes to violence against transgenders, citing the deaths of several transgenders this year.
