From Mairead Maguire, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate RE: Gaza-Palestine, VANUNU and More

TRIBUTE TO THE PEOPLE OF GAZA

By Mairead Maguire - Nobel Peace Laureate

I never cease to be amazed at the power of the human spirit to survive. During my last visit to Gaza in October 2008 I was amazed and deeply moved by the power of the people I witnessed. In a triumph of hope over adversity and tremendous suffering, love still abides.

Gaza comprises a small strip of land 27 miles long and 6 miles wide. This coastal strip is bordered by Israel on the one side, the Mediterranean Sea on the other and to a lesser extent by Egypt at the southern end. With one and a half million inhabitants Gaza is the fifth most densely populated place on the planet, 50% of which are under the age of 18. Two thirds of the total population hold refugees status, and comprise the victims and their descendants of previous acts of Israeli aggression.

Why Israel Put Mordechai Vanunu Back In Jail

May 27th, 2010

eileen fleming

On 24 April 2004, which was two days after Mordechai Vanunu was released from 18 years in a windowless tomb sized cell jail for providing the photographic proof and telling the truth about Israel's clandestine seven story underground WMD Program in the Negev, Uri Avnery wrote:

"Everybody understands that he has no more secrets. What can a technician know after 18 years in jail, during which technology has advanced with giant steps?

Fetus Worship and the Catholic Church

May 27th, 2010

By Bonehead

BACKGROUND: A pregnant woman with pulmonary hypertension sought care at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, owned by Catholic Healthcare West. The woman's condition limits the ability of the heart and lungs to function and would be made worse, possibly even fatal, by pregnancy. She was 11 weeks into her pregnancy.

The ethics committee, headed by Sister Margaret McBride ruled that an abortion was needed to save the woman's life after consulting with the patient, her family and physicians. It was determined that the mother's pregnancy carried a "nearly certain risk of death." This would mean that both the baby as well as the mother would die.

Criminal Investigations of Massey Energy Go Forward as Citizen Pressure Builds for Prosecution

May 26th, 2010

By Kevin Zeese

Just over a month ago I wrote urging criminal prosecution of Massey Energy executives for the deaths of coal miners at the Upper Big Branch Mine. Since then more evidence of criminal wrongdoing has been shown and federal prosecutors and the FBI are investigating the corporation and its executives. In addition, citizen pressure urging prosecution is growing and financial problems for the corporation are showing.

I went to Richmond to attend the Massey Energy shareholder meeting on May 18th.  We could not get inside but joined more than 1,000 people outside protesting the actions of Massey Energy and their CEO, Don Blankenship.  One chant that was repeated regularly was “Send Don to Jail.”  Protesters included coal miners and their families, environmental activists, economic justice advocates and concerned citizens. See videos of the event here, here and here.

Commonsense 2010

May 26th, 2010

By Timothy V. Gatto

I greatly admire the writing of Thomas Paine. I have always felt that he had covered just about all the bases when one considers what the real “commonsense” truth is in relation to the State and the People. There have been many others that have written the truth before and after Tom Paine, but nobody has put their ideas in such straightforward and succinct terms that almost anyone can understand.

Commonsense and The Age of Reason (which I believe should be required reading for all students) are still, if not more than relevant in these times of turmoil. Now, more than ever, the ridiculous notions of the evangelical Christians and their affiliation with the rabid right, along with the Islamic religion with its Koran and the Jews and the teachings of the Torah, have only managed to fuel the fires of a politically tense world. There are those that use religion to pursue their ethnocentric ideologies to provide a pretext in order to divide people that otherwise would have no animosity towards one another.

World War I, II: Providence, Miracle, or What Really Happened, Part 2

May 25th, 2010

by Robert Singer

If you make people think they're thinking, they'll love you; but if you really make them think, they'll hate you."-- Don Marquis

The following Glossary, abbreviations and essay will help the reader understand how on a sunny June morning in 1914 the assassination Serbia’s Archduke Ferdinand set in motion World War I, II, the Holocaust and the Modern State of Israel.

RothIsm: an organization of Jews who believed the Jewish people needed a nation of their own to escape persecution.

Judaism: Jews collectively who practice a religion based on the Torah and the Talmud.

RothIsm or Rothschildism: abbreviation for The Zionist movement corrupted and co-opted by The House of Rothschild and their agents to advance a New World Order agenda. In 1871 Albert Pike Grand Master of the Luciferian group known as the Order of the Palladium, received a vision, which he described in a letter dated August 15, 1871 that graphically outlined plans for three world wars that were seen as necessary to bring about the One World Order.

The first world war is to be fought for the purpose of destroying the Tsar in Russia, as promised by Nathan Mayer Rothschild in 1815. The Tsar is to be replaced with communism which is to be used to attack religions, predominantly Christianity. The differences between the British and German empires are to be used to forment this war.

The second world war is to be used to forment the controversy between facism and political zionism with the slaughter of Jews in Germany a lynchpin in bringing hatred against the German people. This is designed to destroy fascism (which the Rothschilds created) and increase the power of political zionism. This war is also designed to increase the power of communism to the level that it equalled that of united Christendom.

The third world war is to be played out by stirring up hatred of the Muslim world for the purposes of playing the Islamic world and the political zionists off against one another. Whilst this is going on, the remaining nations would be forced to fight themselves into a state of mental, physical, spiritual and economic exhaustion. [1]

RBZJ: The Rothschild Backed RothIsm Jews, acronym used when referring to anyone connected to or related to the House of Rothschild.

The Age of Space-Solar Energy: Innovation in the Public Interest

May 25th, 2010

William John Cox

The industrial revolution has been driven for the past two centuries by the burning of hydrocarbons, first by coal in the Age of Steam, and then by oil and natural gas in the Age of Petroleum; however, as the flow of these fossil fuels slows down as demand goes up, ever-more-intrusive and massive extraction efforts increasingly threaten the progress of industrialization and the civilization it has produced.

The catastrophic Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is the latest and largest of hundreds of such ocean spills, and the recent methane gas explosion in Massey’s Montcoal mine was just another example of the continuing disasters, worldwide, which snuff out the lives of workers who labor in dangerous conditions to feed our fossil-fuel addiction. All around the planet we live upon, the quest for hydrocarbons is threatening the ability of humans to survive in the degrading environment and to govern their own corporate-dominated societies.

Obama's Gulf Commission: Distortion, Obstruction and Whitewash Assured

May 25th, 2010

by Stephen Lendman

The Deepwater Horizon site is a crime scene. But instead of demanding prosecutions for culpable industry and Interior Department officials, Obama announced a commission to assuage public concern and anger, suppress vital truths, and obstruct justice, America's customary response to major government and corporate crimes - to wit, the notorious Warren, 9/11, and Space Shuttle Challenger Commissions. More about them below.

The Mysterious CAFRs: How Stagnant Pools of Government Money Could Help Save the Economy

May 25th, 2010

Ellen Brown

For over a decade, accountant Walter Burien has been trying to rouse the public over what he contends is a massive conspiracy and cover-up, involving trillions of dollars squirreled away in funds maintained at every level of government. His numbers may be disputed, but these funds definitely exist, as evidenced by the Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports (CAFRs) required of every government agency. If they don’t represent a concerted government conspiracy, what are they for? And how can they be harnessed more efficiently to help allay the financial crises of state and local governments?
