9/11 Was a Saud-U.S. Operation at the Top. Terrorists Were Pawns in It. The Cover-Up.

March 28th, 2017

Eric Zuesse

Evidence will be presented here that will explain, in a comprehensive and internally consistent way — and fully in accord with all of the existing evidence that has been published thus far — many key questions regarding 9/11. Also explained here will be why some of this evidence has been suppressed — such as the crucial testimony of Osama bin Laden’s bag-man who personally collected all of the million-dollar-plus cash donations into Al Qaeda. Also suppressed has been the reason why no persons have been prosecuted for their massive funding of the 9/11 terrorists, including of their training for this complex international terrorist act. In other words: the reasons, and the funders, of the 9/11 attacks, have both been suppressed, until now. But all of these matters are actually part of a broader picture, which also will be explained and documented here:

Why did U.S. President Barack Obama, who bowed down to King Saud (a tyrant in a brutal hereditary dictatorship, and the world’s largest buyer of U.S.-made weaponry), veto the bill that would allow the evidence regarding who financed the 9/11 operation to be presented and judged in a court of law?

Why did U.S. President George W. Bush, during the month before 9/11, refuse to allow his CIA Director, George Tenet, to speak with him alone in private, even when Tenet frantically urged Bush’s gatekeeper Condoleezza Rice to allow him to, or else something terrible, which he couldn't discuss with anyone but the President, would (not could — would) happen very soon?

Why did U.S. President Donald Trump, in his supposed anti-terrorist ban, choose to target the seven muslim-majority nations that he did, which hadn’t done terrorism against the U.S. (and not much international terrorism at all, really), and not target at all the world’s leading nation in both financing terrorism, and producing suicide-bombers — Saudi Arabia — not even include that country?

It’s not just about money — although the Saud King has a net worth higher than a trillion dollars, but Forbes and Bloomberg don’t even include any heads-of-state in their “billionaires” lists, though the world’s few richest people happen to be also royals (and therefore not listed).

It’s also, and even more, about power. We’re not supposed to learn about the manners of functioning of money and power at the very top, but nobody can understand 9/11 without addressing this issue, unless it’s being addressed as mythology rather than as history, which — in the case of 9/11 at least — it has.

Pentagon Heads Toward Escalating Genocide in Yemen

March 28th, 2017

Stephen Lendman

Yemen is Obama’s war, now Trump’s, complicit with Saudi terror-bombing, massacring civilians indiscriminately, causing vast destruction, human suffering and starvation.

A previous article explained millions of Yemenis face slow, painful deaths from lack of food needed to survive, blockaded coastal areas preventing it from entering the country.

Amounts airlifted in are woefully inadequate. Media scoundrels suppress the ongoing horror, ignoring US responsibility for genocide.

On March 26, the neocon/CIA-connected Washington Post-owned Foreign Policy magazine headlined “Pentagon Weighs More Support for Saudi-led War in Yemen,” saying:

“Several Defense officials told Foreign Policy the prospect of more American help for the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen was under discussion even as the administration examines its broader strategy in the region, including looking at ways to counter Iran and to defeat Islamic State militants.”

“The Pentagon views increased support for the Saudi-led coalition as one way of potentially pushing back against Iran’s influence in Yemen, as well as shoring up ties with an ally that felt neglected by the previous administration.”

Orchestrated Protests in Russia

March 27th, 2017

Stephen Lendman

They aim to weaken Putin’s overwhelming popularity - acts of futility, always failing. Yet they erupt sporadically, again on Sunday. More on this below.

Over 80% of Russians want no one else leading them. He’ll likely run for reelection next year, easily winning overwhelmingly.

When occasional politically motivated protests erupt, foreign interference is the usual suspect.

Investigative journalist Wayne Madsen earlier cited an unnamed Eastern European intelligence source, saying the CIA, Britain’s MI-6 and George Soros finance anti-Putin dissident groups.

Staged protests and other tactics used to try weakening his public support never worked. He’s respected for straight talk, challenging US imperialism, and protecting Russian interests.

US Support Lets Global Terrorism Flourish

March 27th, 2017

Stephen Lendman

America created ISIS, al-Qaeda, al-Nusra and other terrorist groups. It maintains support for the scourge it claims to oppose.

Its so-called war on terrorism is a fabricated hoax. The way to defeat it isn’t by terror-bombing cities to rubble on the phony pretext of combating it.

It’s by ending support. Without it from America, NATO, Israel and other regional rogue states, these groups will wither and fade away.

Instead, they flourish because Washington uses them as imperial foot soldiers. Instead of cooperating with Russia in combating them, America and its rogue allies continue supplying them with weapons, munitions and other material support.

Immigration: No Easy Answers

March 25th, 2017

James Petras

Introduction

The cross border flood of millions of immigrants provokes profound political divisions, violence and the rise of mass movements challenging the unity of the European Union (EU) and the survival of the dominant political parties in the US and Europe.

Both the progressive pro-immigrant and rightwing anti-immigration parties and movements propose easy answers and attack their adversaries with political invective.

Both left and right engage in a losing war, based on historical omissions, abstract and muddle-headed assumptions and destructive proposals.

I will proceed by outlining a framework to understand the political, economic and security implications, which form the centerpiece for confronting immigration.

The NYT Downplays Indiscriminate US Mass Slaughter of Civilians

March 25th, 2017

Stephen Lendman

On Saturday, Turkey’s Anadolu (news) Agency cited Iraqi General Thaer Mosawi, saying over 22,000 Mosul residents were wounded since US-orchestrated combat operations began last October, based on hospital admissions - nearly 4,000 killed since mid-February alone.

Civilians able to flee the city to relative safety report high noncombatant casualties - people as terrified by US terror-bombing as ISIS.

This information flies in the face of Pentagon reports and supportive media scoundrels - ignoring or downplaying ongoing horrors.

Mosul is being systematically raped and destroyed on the phony pretext of liberating the city from ISIS control. Most of its area fighters were relocated to Syria, America and its allies aiding them, using them as imperial foot soldiers, along with other terrorist groups.

In reporting on endless US aggression, The New York Times and other media scoundrels function as virtual Pentagon press agent.

Millions in US War Theaters Face Starvation

March 25th, 2017

Stephen Lendman

According to the ICRC, about 20 million people in Yemen and Somalia face starvation without vitally needed food aid, mostly not forthcoming, saying:

“This is not business as usual.” Crisis conditions in both countries need to be addressed “now.” Cholera “on the rise in Somalia (alone is killing about) 20 people…each day.”

US drone war takes a horrendous toll. Obama’s war in Yemen, complicit with Riyadh, now Trump’s war, took a horrendous toll on civilians for the past two years.

Reporting on years of covert US war on Somalia, the Bureau of Investigative Journalism said elite US troops are involved in “surveillance, reconnaissance, and assault and capture operations,” including devastating drone war, mostly harming civilians.

The CIA operates secretly from Mogadishu airport. In recent years, Kenyan and Ethiopian forces invaded parts of the country, serving as US proxies. A virtually unreported war OF terror remains ongoing.

Oxfam reported “millions on the brink of starvation” in east Africa, Yemen, and northeast Nigeria - “an unprecedented and devastating food crisis” largely unaddressed.

Inventing Reasons to Bash Russia

March 25th, 2017

Stephen Lendman

Washington remains hostile toward Russia for its sovereign independence.

Along with China, it’s an obstacle to America’s aim for unchallenged global dominance. Both countries are formidable nuclear powers, giving bipartisan US hawks pause about engaging either militarily.

It doesn’t stop them from fabricating reasons to bash them, America’s failed Afghan war the latest example.

On Thursday, US NATO commander General Curtis Scaparrotti lied to Senate Armed Services Committee members, saying:

“I’ve seen the influence of Russia of late - increased influence in terms of association and perhaps even supply to the Taliban,” providing no evidence backing his spurious allegations.

US Intends Illegal Safe Zones in Imperial War Theaters

March 25th, 2017

Stephen Lendman

Addressing members of America’s imperial war coalition in Washington Wednesday, Rex Tillerson said Washington intends establishing “interim zones of stability” in Syria and Iraq - without further elaboration.

US-installed Iraqi puppet leader Haider al-Abadi was pressured to let US forces operate in Iraqi territory.

He’s silent on relentless Pentagon terror-bombing, massacring Mosul civilians, ones escaping saying they fear US warplanes as much as ISIS.

Pentagon special forces and marines in Syria are “invaders,” operating illegally, Bashar al-Assad explained. They’re aiding anti-government terrorists pursue US regime change plans.

No-fly or safe zones in foreign countries are illegal without Security Council authorization - not forthcoming with near certain Russian and likely Chinese veto power. US pressure will likely get Abadi to go along. If not, expect a new puppet leader installed to replace him.

John Podesta Linked to State-Run Russian Company

March 25th, 2017

Stephen Lendman

It should be a non-issue. Doing business in Russia and most other countries is legal, nothing out-of-the-ordinary about it unless laws are broken.

It matters for Podesta because Trump is irresponsibly bashed for alleged ties to Russian investors, banks and officials - besides fabricated claims of Moscow US election hacking, helping him defeat Hillary. Reportedly he explored Moscow real estate development deals never successfully concluded.

He had dealings with numerous individuals in Russia since the late 1980s. It’s common business practice engaged in by most large, medium, and smaller-sized firms - nothing unusual or illegal about it, nothing justifying bashing him for it.

On Tuesday, an “exclusive” Daily Caller report headlined “Podesta Was Board Member of Firms Linked to Russian Investors,” saying:

Texas House Republican Louie Gohmert wants Congress investigating Podesta for his “role with Rusnano, a state-run company founded by Russian President Vladimir Putin.”

If Democrats can target Trump, unjustifiably claiming improper ties to Russia, despite no credible proof, Republicans can play the same game.
