Russian Aggression: The Big Lie Blasted Worldwide Ad Nauseam

February 11th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Try imagining one dollar for each time Western officials and presstitute media scoundrels screamed "Russian aggression" daily since US planned, directed and implemented Kiev aggression on Donbas began last April.

Easily enough for round-trip first class travel from any point of departure to any destination several times over.

Plus ground transportation, 5-star hotel accommodations, first-class meals, miscellaneous expenses, with enough left for souvenir trip remembrances.

Big Lies have a life of their own. Circulate worldwide with electronic ease. Printed multiple times daily in Western publications.

Russian aggression, Russian hoards, Russian threats, big bad Russian bear comments infest so-called Western journalism like crabgrass besets lawns.

U.S. Military Expert Shoots Down Washington’s Weapons-to-Ukraine Argument

February 11th, 2015

Eric Zuesse

Michael Kofman isn’t just a defense expert; he’s specialized in the precise region where Ukraine is located. He spent years managing professional military education programs and military-to-military engagements for senior officers at National Defense University. There he served as a subject matter expert and adviser to military and government officials on issues in Russia/Eurasia. And, now, he is telling the Brookings Institution war-hawks, and its insider ‘experts’ whose expertise is about getting America into invasions but not getting us out, and is certainly not about “winning” anything more than defense contracts — he is telling them that their arguments for getting us into sending weapons to Ukraine as our “proxy” against Russia, is a shockingly stupid and counterproductive idea for everyone but America’s armaments-makers.

Failed Ukraine Peace Talks

February 10th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Call it preordained. It didn't surprise despite typical diplomatic rhetoric following Friday's Moscow talks. More on this below.

Washington's dirty hands operate everywhere overtly and covertly. Failure was manipulated behind the scenes.

Obama wants war, not peace. He wants Donbas democracy crushed. Hardline fascist rule throughout Ukraine.

All former Soviet republics and Warsaw Pact countries incorporated into NATO. Ukraine most of all. Washington is using it as a dagger targeting Russia's heartland.

America's ultimate goal is regime change. Ousting Putin. Replacing his government with pro-Western stooges.

America gaining control over Russia's vast land mass and resources. Plundering them for profit.

NATO Heading for War with Russia?

February 9th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

US-dominated NATO is the greatest threat to world peace, stability and security. Washington wants regime change in Russia.

Economic and political wars rage. Ineffective in achieving America's aims. Russia is strong and resilient.

Putin is a master chess player. Obama is buffoon-like in comparison. His neocon infested administration threatens world peace.

Lunatics influencing policies promote permanent wars. Challenge Moscow irresponsibly.

Use Kiev's military as a proxy US force against Russia. Getting battered in the process. More on this below.

Deputy NATO Secretary-General/former US Defense Secretary for International Affairs Alexander Vershbow effectively runs the organization.

He played a major role in expanding NATO. Including outside Europe. Establishing new bases in Central Asia. Surrounding Russia with US military strength.

He calls the Russian Federation "more of an adversary than a partner." Vows "NATO enlargement will continue."

Merkel and Hollande for Peace in Ukraine: Hold the Cheers

February 9th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

On February 5, Tass headlined "France, Germany plan to work out new agreement on Ukrainian conflict settlement - Hollande." Merkel and Hollande are in Kiev on Thursday. So is John Kerry. Discussing escalated war, not peace.

Don't expect divergence from their NATO allies. Saying one thing. Pursuing another. More on this below. Tass quoted Hollande saying "(t)ogether with Angela Merket we have decided to take a new initiative."

"Later today in the afternoon, we will depart for Kiev, where we will make a new proposal on the conflict settlement bas(ed) on the territorial integrity of Ukraine."

Israeli Gaza War Crimes Investigation

February 9th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Last August, Human Rights Council (HRC) President Baudelaire Ndong Ella announced the formation of an "independent, international commission of inquiry" into war crimes committed during Israel's Operation Protective Edge (OPE).

International human rights law expert Professor William Schabas was appointed to chair a three-person panel. His special focus is genocide.

On January 30, Israel's Geneva-based UN envoy, Eviator Manor, outrageously accused him of a "blatant conflict of interest."

A typical Israeli stunt. Demanded his immediate dismissal. Months earlier, Israel refused to cooperate with HRC's investigation. Outrageously called it a "kangaroo court" proceeding.

Chomsky & Kissinger Agree: Avoid the Historic Tragedy of Ukraine

February 9th, 2015

By Kevin Zeese

The New York Times reported Tuesday that the Obama administration is considering sending more weapons to Ukraine — $3 billion worth. The Times reports: “Secretary of State John Kerry, who plans to visit Kiev on Thursday [Feb. 5], is open to new discussions about providing lethal assistance, as is Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, officials said.”

This follows Defense News reporting that this spring the United States will be sending troops to train the Ukrainian National Guard and commence the shipping of U.S.-funded armored vehicles. The funding for this is coming from the congressionally-authorized Global Security Contingency Fund, which was requested by the Obama administration in the fiscal year 2015 budget to help train and equip the armed forces of allies around the globe.

Kiev's Junta: Talking Peace, Waging War

February 9th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

It bears repeating what other articles explained. Ukraine is Washington's newest colony. US-installed putschists run things.

Waging war on their own citizens as Pentagon proxies. Despite over two-thirds of Ukrainians wanting peace. The vast majority of Donbas residents want fighting ended.

Dirty war without mercy rages. Throughout months of conflict, Washington continues supplying heavy weapons, funding, training and direction covertly.

CIA, FBI, special forces and other US operates infest Kiev. Joe Biden, John Kerry, Victoria Nuland, John Brennan and other US officials show up regularly to issue marching orders.

Obama Wants Congressional Authorization for Unlimited War

February 8th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

What do you call a nation permanently at war with invented enemies? An asylum run by lunatics.

They infest Washington. Many influence policies. Others make it. Obama already risks the unthinkable. Possible war with Russia.

Using Ukraine as a dagger at its heartland. Positioning thousands of US-led NATO troops near its borders. Recklessly risking nuclear war.

Daily events should scare everyone. "NATO Boosts Rapid Reaction Strike Force For War With Russia," Stop NATO headlined.
