Religious Diversity of the Middle East

The Middle East is commonplace from which three global religions originated: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. All three confessions recognize the Prophet, Abraham.
Judaism
Judaism is a monotheistic religion of the Jewish people, i.e. with a belief in one God and foundations in Mosaic and rabbinical teachings. The Jewish people have been asked to accept the worshiping of one God instead of many (polytheism). The will of this one God, the Creator, is expressed in the Torah – the first five books of the Bible (the Pentateuch) which contains the Ten Commandments. Such Jewish monotheism was later inherited and adopted by both Christianity and Islam. The essence of Judaism is that the Jews believe that as a result of the agreement between God and Abraham, they as the Chosen People have a unique relationship with God. Besides, they believe that the Messiah is going to be sent by God with a mission to collect all peoples of Israel in the promised land and bring everlasting peace to Earth. The Christians, but not the Jews, believe that Jesus Christ was such a Messiah.

Veterans For Peace and 350.org Demonstrate Against Military Air Shows’ Dirty Glorification of War

Veterans For Peace (VFP) has been running the No Military Airshows (No MAS!) campaign for years to protest military air shows by the Navy (Blue Angels) and Air Force (Thunderbirds) for glorifying militarism and spewing pollution. 350.org’s U.S. team recently joined the campaign and is encouraging 350.org supporters to work with local VFP chapters and members to protest military air shows across the country.
The U.S. military is the world’s single largest institutional consumer of fossil fuels and the world’s single largest institutional emitter of greenhouse gasses. Jet planes like the Blue Angels are one of the most egregious contributors, consuming over 1,200 gallons of jet fuel per hour.

From the very political point of view, the 19th century in Latin America started in 1808 when the emancipation of the subordinated people against the foreign (Spanish & Portuguese) rule started (and finished in 1826) and was over with the beginning of the Great War in Europe in 1914. The struggle for independence was extremely speeded up by the French military-political subjection of the Iberian Peninsula when both Spain and Portugal lost direct connections with their overseas colonies. Such a new geopolitical situation fostered domestic Latin American patriotic nationalism which demanded political independence, administrative sovereignty, and economic self-administration instead of the subordination and exploitation by colonial motherlands with their capitals in Madrid and Lisbon.
These political, administrative, and economic requirements were met by the Portuguese royal court by accepting them and consequently leading the biggest Portuguese colony – Brazil toward the creation of political nationhood as an independent state (Kingdom in 1815, Empire in 1822, and Republic in 1889) on peaceful way but with a minimum of social change. This characteristic was common for almost all ex-Iberian colonies in Latin America (Mezo/Central- and South America): political independence did not change a social framework and relations within society from Mexico to Cape Horn.

Methane (CH4) is a horrible destroyer of the Earth — with 86 times the heat-trapping power of CO2 over 20 years.
But natural gas is natural, almost not really gas, actually the green solution brought to us by Guy-Who-Was-Not-Trump Barack Obama.
So the fact that 97% of so-called natural gas is nothing other than methane is odd.
It’s like finding out that aid to Ukraine is fueling mass murder that the U.S. government has prevented Ukraine from ending. Isn’t aid, you know, stuff that’s helpful?

Tomas Young (November 30, 1979 – November 10, 2014). Tomas Young died at age 34, 10 years after a sniper’s bullet pierced his spinal cord. He was riding in an unarmored open-air Humvee when he was shot only five days after arriving in Iraq. Tomas was paralyzed from the chest down and confined to a wheelchair for the remainder of his life. He had joined the Army two days after September 11, 2001, at the age of 24, and became one of the first veterans to publicly oppose the Iraq war. On Veterans Day, Tuesday November 11, 2014 his wife Claudia went to a funeral home to arrange for Tomas’s ravaged body to be cremated. His mother, Cathy Smith of Kansas City, Mo., said she was just glad her oldest child didn’t hurt anymore.

Ottawa — A large protest is blocking the entrances to CANSEC, North America’s biggest weapons and military convention. Hundreds of demonstrators are confronting representatives of Israeli and Canadian militaries and weapons companies over their complicity in the killing of more than 36,000 Palestinians in Gaza as Israel has carried out a prolonged assault from the air, sea, and on the ground over the past seven and a half months. The criminality of Israel’s actions, and of Canada’s complicity with them, is underscored by the horrific killing of 45 Palestinians by an Israeli air strike on a camp for displaced people in Rafah. At least 23 women and children died in the attack, many burned to death as fire engulfed their tents.

We raised young people to believe that genocide was wrong. We told them they had the right to free speech and assembly. We told them that lots of wars were somehow not genocidal (pay no attention to the millions of dark-skinned corpses behind the curtain, children) and that those wars even somehow mysteriously created those rights to free speech and assembly. Now those young people are being attacked by police, beaten up by judeonazi brownshirts, and unceremoniously suspended from the debt machines of higher indoctrination. And nobody’s thanking these students for their service.
I admit that I get frustrated with these courageous and kind students. Why are they afraid of cameras? Don’t they know you need the corporate media to build a movement? Why do they seem to be more interested in using counterproductive chants than in stopping the war? Why do they embrace the label pro-Palestinian, when anti-genocide and pro-peace are readily available free of charge and without IDF and CNN endorsement?
Christians, Muslims, and Jews for a Secular One-State Solution in Palestine-Israel

Jerusalem in Palestine-Israel is a holy city for Christians, Muslims, and Jews. If we can solve the problems in this region of the world, everything else will be a piece of cake. What happens in Palestine-Israel has repercussions throughout the world, which is why it is so important to learn more about Zionism, imperialism, and the Middle East crisis, especially now considering the catastrophic situation in Rafah, Gaza.
The first World Zionist Congress was established in 1897 by Theodore Herzl. Beginning in the 1920s, Jews mostly from Europe started immigrating into Palestine increasingly. Years later after the Holocaust and World War II, the idea of creating a safe homeland for the Jews in Palestine through Zionism became more popular.
The movie Lawrence of Arabia was about how the British Empire convinced the Arabs to revolt against the Ottoman Empire during World War I. The British promised the Arabs an independent homeland after the war. However, after the British captured the Palestine region, British foreign secretary Arthur Balfour wrote a letter, now referred to as the Balfour Declaration, to Lord Nathaniel Rothschild, one of the leaders of the British Jewish community. In that November 2, 1917 letter, Balfour expressed British support of a “national home for the Jewish people” in the land of Palestine. The wealthy Rothschild family would then give private donations to help Jews purchase land in Palestine.
