US-Led NATO's War on Humanity

May 26th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

US-led NATO threatens humanity. It's an imperial tool. It's a global killing machine.

It prioritizes war. It deplores peace. Humanity's survival hangs in the balance.

It includes 28 member nations, 22 Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (EAPC) ones, seven Mediterranean Dialogue countries, and four Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI) states.

They comprise nearly one-third of world nations. NATO plans exponential expansion. It wants new members and partners.

Putin on Ukraine's Sham Election

May 25th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

He's a master chess player. He's a world-class geopolitical leader.

He shames his Western counterparts. He makes them look amateurish by comparison.

He thanked St. Peterburg Economic Forum participants. He thanked everyone attending.

"We established good rapport with our partners in all areas of production, from all sectors of the economy," he said.

"(W)e are very pleased with how cooperation with our partners" went, he added.

I'm impressed with "this year's attendance," he said. Elements involved included "80% of the global information flow," he explained.

Their influence on "global and national news cannot be overstated." He requested they disseminate their message widely.

Putin in St. Petersburg

May 25th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

He addressed its 18th Economic Forum. Heads of state attended.

So did other political officials, business leaders, academic and scientific community members, as well as media and numerous others.

Putin was warmly received. He welcomed "traditional old friends and new guests." He welcomed everyone sharing "long-term strategic priorities with Russia."

Who partner for "global development." Who desire "cooperation and dialogue." Who do so independently. "(F)ree from short-term considerations of the moment," he said.

"Consistency and openness are always met with reciprocal steps and mutual trust." "Trust is above all about finding compromises, mutually acceptable solutions, and working and acting together."

"This idea is the main theme of this year's Forum - Sustaining Confidence in a World Undergoing Transformation."

Things are fast-moving, he said. "We are witnessing colossal geopolitical, technological and structural shifts."

Wall Street Journal Supports Putschist Oligarch Ukrainian Rule

May 25th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

Sham elections approach. They'll be held Sunday, May 25. They're illegitimate. They have no legal standing.

Coup-appointed putschists are running them. Washington supports what demands rejection. So does the Wall Street Journal.

It's in lockstep with putschist rule. Murdoch's world reflects presstitute power.

It features demagoguery, propaganda, pseudo-journalism, corporate power, and warmongering. It supports wrong over right.

It turns truth on its head. It lacks ethical and moral standards. Its poisonous influence debauches whatever it touches. It endorses Wall Street grand theft.

It favors hard right billionaire bandits running Ukraine. On May 22, it headlined "A Pragmatic Favorite to Lead a Shaky Ukraine," saying:

Candidates reflect "few policy differences." Their "backgrounds are similar…The only issue in the Ukrainian presidential vote on Sunday is the country's survival."

Irresponsible Syria Bashing

May 24th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

Syria's June 3 presidential election approaches. It's historic. It's the Syrian Arab Republic's first ever free, fair, open presidential process.

Twenty-four aspirants registered to compete. Parliamentarians Hassan al-Nouri and Maher Hajjar were approved. So was Assad.

He's overwhelmingly popular. He's expected to win easily. Syrians want no one else leading them. He's especially trusted now. He's defeating foreign invaders.

He's doing it responsibly. He's fighting for Syrian freedom. For its independent sovereign rights. He's up to the challenge. He's winning. He's defeating Obama's dirty game. He deserves universal support.

Kiev's War on Freedom

May 24th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

Western-supported coup-appointed putschists have no legitimacy. Waging war on freedom reflects official Kiev policy.

Washington endorses it. Upcoming sham May 25 elections exclude democracy from ballot choices.

They're at the same time as Kiev aggression continues. They're attacking Eastern Ukrainians.

They're murdering them in cold blood. So-called "anti-terrorist operation(s)" reflect state terrorism writ large.

Fascist regimes operate this way. They reemerged in Europe. Coup-appointed Kiev thugs represent its epicenter.

Upcoming elections are rigged. Democracy is pure fantasy. Results are largely pre-determined.

Activist Professor Denis Rancourt's Judicial Lynching

May 24th, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

Rancourt reflects academia's best, most competent, most responsible and bravest. He has two blog sites. Visit them for updated information.

Activist Teacher and U of O Watch provide updates. They explain what most people can't imagine. What happened to Rancourt can happen to anyone responsibly challenging what's too deplorable to accept.

Injustice defines Western societies. Canada marches in lockstep with Washington.

Rogue state ruthlessness defines both countries. Imperial priorities matter most. Inviolable laws don't matter. Nor judicial fairness.

Rancourt is a distinguished University of Ottawa (U of O) professor. He's tenured. He's a recognized physics and environmental science expert.

Students loved him. He's a "phenomenal teacher," they said. He didn't teach to the test like in America.

Arab World’s Withering Heights

May 23rd, 2014

Dr. Mahboob A. Khawaja

“Certain forms of modern life lead directly to degeneration….in the poor as well the rich, leisure engenders degeneration. Cinemas, concerts, radios, automobiles and athletics are no substitute for intelligent work. We are far from having solved this momentous problem of idleness created by prosperity, modern machinery or unemployment. By imposing leisure upon man, scientific civilization has brought him great misfortune. We are incapable of fighting the consequences of indolence and irresponsibility as cancer and mental diseases……after all the purpose of civilization is not the progress of science and machines, but the progress of man.” - (Alexis Carrel. Man the Unknown, 1936)

Israeli State Terror

May 23rd, 2014

by Stephen Lendman

Every day is Kristallnacht in Palestine. Israeli security forces attack, brutalize, murder or injure nonviolent Palestinians with impunity.

They're ruthless. They're lawless. It's standard practice. Crimes too grave to ignore occur multiple times daily.

Soldiers, border guards and police harass, intimidate and terrorize Palestinians ruthlessly.

They hold an entire population hostage.

Fear is constant. It's pervasive. Collective punishment is official Israeli policy. Peaceful public demonstrations are prohibited. So are free expression and movement. Population centers are isolated. Borders are closed. Occupation harshness denies Palestinians control over their own land.

Normal daily life is nonexistent. Economic strangulation is imposed. Institutionalized racism reflects official Israeli policy.
