Obama v. Romney on Issues Mattering Most

September 11th, 2012

by Stephen Lendman

Both candidates represent duopoly power. They're two sides of the same coin. Differences between them are minor. On issues mattering most, they're in lockstep.

In January 2013, America will be run by rogues whoever wins. Under either party, expect the next four years to be worse than previous ones.

Lame duck Obama will be unrestrained. Religious extremist/corporate predator Romney promises the worst of his agenda and then some.

Money power runs America. Wall Street owns both candidates. Whatever giant banks want they'll get. Expect victory for whichever one they prefer. They get to choose, not voters.

The 11th anniversary of the demolitions of the three World Trade Center buildings on 9/11/01

September 11th, 2012

Gary G. Kohls, MD

To my internet friends and acquaintances who espouse interest in truth, peace, justice, reconciliation and healing:

Today, 9/11/12, is the anniversary of the controlled demolitions/explosions of the three World Trade Center buildings 11 years ago.

I and many other seekers after the truth of what really happened on 9/11/01, also appeal to the doubters or deniers of various other painful, provably true but unwelcome historical truths, whether they be the Jewish holocaust, the genocide of aboriginal peoples in North America, the MyLai and other massacres in the Vietnam War, the cold-blooded killings of innocents by the American military in Afghanistan or Iraq, the scientific facts about global warming, the overpopulation crisis, the poisoning of the planet, etc, ask that you, out of respect for the various uncountable victims of such corporate, government and/or military mass killings, spend an hour watching the following powerful video, entitled “911: Explosive Evidence - Experts Speak Out”, produced by Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth:

“A Lot of People Believe This Stuff”: Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and the Politics of Public Relations

September 10th, 2012

By: Andrew Gavin Marshall

“Political language… is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.” - George Orwell, “Politics and the English Language,” 1946

“It’s important, because a lot of people believe this stuff.” – Bill Clinton, speaking at the Democratic National Convention, 5 September 2012

In case you were unaware, Bill Clinton gave a speech at the Democratic National Convention on the evening of September 5, which, the media tells us, revealed Clinton’s “special gift”[1] to “give a boost to Obama’s middle-class hero image.”[2] The speech has been hailed as Clinton’s “come back,”[3] and a “spirited defense” of Obama..[4] The “rock star,”[5] Bill Clinton, received heaps of praise from celebrities who endorsed his speech, and it’s obviously very important that the public know what Whoopi Goldberg, Chris Rock, and Alicia Silverstone think of the speech, so lucky for us, the media tells us. It was, “fantastic… common sense,” that Clinton was “up there teaching,” and “breaking it down.”[6]

Nikola Tesla speaks out about 9/11 and Iraq

September 9th, 2012

By Robert Singer

On September 10th the USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) in the straits of Hormoz chopped (turned around), went to Battle Condition II, and prepared to invade Iraq. The order to stand down came 5 hours after the 2nd tower collapsed at free fall speed and turned largely to dust. [1]

The USS Carl Vinson was in the Persian Gulf with orders to invade Iraq. Logic would dictate the invasion would go forward when the buildings collapsed and not be called off.

The same USS Carl Vinson that allegedly lowered Bin Laden’s body into the sea after he was killed by Navy SEALs on May 2, 2011. [2]

What's going on here? I tried the World Wide Web but couldn’t find any answers.

So I got out my Matrix Mind-ray Scanner, delivered before The Sharper Image and our way of life filed for bankruptcy and Googled “Who can I interview that can tell me why the invasion of Iraq was called off 5 hours after the 2nd tower collapsed at free fall speed and turned largely to dust?

Real Unemployment at 23% - Dampening the Excitement

September 9th, 2012

By Michael Collins
There was a shadow over the national conventions of both political parties. The people know that the economy is much worse than anyone in the power structure will admit. As usual, the people are right. The real rate of unemployment is 23%, not the official figures we hear on a regular basis. The 23% figure represents all of those unemployed no matter how long, the involuntarily under employed (part time), and those who have given up looking, the discouraged, due to an chronically arid job market. If either wing of The Money Party, Democratic or Republican, admits to the the real unemployment situation, they would be forced to admit a complete system failure and compelled to act now. There would be no choice but to drop the nonsense about austerity and balanced budgets.

Here is how the fantasy of the official unemployment figure works.

Official unemployment includes those who are both unemployed during the week of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) survey and without a job for the prior four weeks.

The official unemployment number we see excludes those marginally attached to the labor force, discouraged workers, and those working part time due to the absence of full time work. The Alternative unemployment statistic is always higher than the official version. It includes most of the unemployed but excludes discouraged workers after twelve months without a job (See Appendix). In the chart above, you will see the official government unemployment number (U-3), the alternative number (U-6), and the shadowstats.com figure, which includes U-3 and U-6 plus all those unemployed who have given up. That represents 23% of the work force. (Graph Courtesy of Shadowstats.Com Shadow Government Statistics - John Williams)

Legitimizing Illegal Spying

September 9th, 2012

by Stephen Lendman

On August 15, federal district court Judge Cormac Carney dismissed a class action ACLU of Southern California/Council on Islamic American Relations (CAIR) lawsuit.

Fazaga v. FBI charges lawless FBI surveillance. More on what's involved below. Southern California Muslims were targeted for praying to the wrong God.

In his ruling, Judge Carney didn't say illegal surveillance hadn't occurred. Nor did he agree that First Amendment provisions, illegal searches, privacy rights, and other constitutional principles weren't violated.

Instead, he ruled for Washington's "state secrets" privilege. It's anti-democratic legal mumbo jumbo. The Justice Department and administration routinely invoke it to conceal government crimes and other abuses from scrutiny. Courts routinely go along.

Canada: Selling Its Soul to America

September 9th, 2012

by Stephen Lendman

Canada is more colony than sovereign state. Canadians perhaps wonder when it'll grow up, act like an adult, and regain its rightful independence.

They're also worried about a country junior partnering with imperial America, Israel, and other rogue NATO allies.

A previous article said the following:

On September 7, Foreign Minister John Baird said Canada closed its Tehran embassy. It expelled Iranian diplomats in Ottawa. They have five days to leave. He claimed a nonexistent Iranian threat. He took a page from AIPAC's playbook. He bogusly called Tehran the gravest threat to global security.

America's Dismal August Jobs Report

September 9th, 2012

by Stephen Lendman

Headlines obscured its ugliness. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported a dismal 96,000 jobs created. Whisper numbers suggested around 200,000. June and July totals were revised down 41,000. They're usually momentum drivers for future data releases.

U-3 unemployment dropped from 8.3% to 8.1%. It's because 368,000 workers hadn't found jobs after over a year of looking. BLS calls them non-persons. They don't exist.

At the same time, it added a fictitious 87,000 jobs based on so-called birth/death calculations. They turn reality on its head.

The labor force participation rate fell from 63.7% to 63.5% month over month. Doing so hit a 30 year low.

Irrational Draghi Exuberance

September 9th, 2012

by Stephen Lendman

Thursday was Draghi day. He explained what ECB watchers knew. At his Frankfort press conference, he said Governing Council members agreed to unlimited bond buying. It's called Outright Monetary Transactions (OMT).

Bundesbank President Jens Weidmann alone dissented. He called Draghi's plan "tantamount to financing governments by printing banknotes." Doing so creates more problems than solutions.

In late August, Weidmann said bond purchases were "too close to state financial via the money press for me. The central bank cannot fundamentally solve the problems this way. It runs the risk of creating new problems."

Bogus Iranian Nuclear Threat

September 8th, 2012

by Stephen Lendman

Red lines, timelines, deadlines, sanctions, sabotage, subversion, cyber attacks, assassinations, saber rattling, falsified IAEA hype, ad nauseam warmongering, Netanyahu/Barak bluster, spurious accusations, manipulated to fail P5+1 talks, and inflammatory headlines up the stakes for war.

When America and Israel plan them, they're coming. Pretexts are easy to invent. False flags precipitate them. Expect Washington to use them against Syria and Iran. War weary Americans are manipulated for more of what they want ended.
