Ignorance and General Intellectual Impairment of mass ordinary people are the foundation of the relative political stability of the West

The armed freedom of the scepter of reason fulminates ignorance and fanaticism (French Illuminist iconography) Firstly I do not even try to prove that the influence of mainstream media and especially of generalist television and social media in the last five decades tend to spread ignorance and intellectual regression among the public, rather than its opposite, as they should in theory, perhaps, because this decadence seems to me such an obvious and self-evident fact. All this happened after the end of New Hollywood, Hollywood Renaissance, American New Wave, or New American Cinema after the first eighties. This is certainly not a coincidence but I guess there is a causal link that at the moment which I am not entirely sure to have identified correctly but I suppose that the end of New Hollywood was the end of authentic creative freedom as a consequence of a selective tightening on the financing of non-aligned productions in a neoliberal sense politically and socially.
