Oregon has already started keeping marijuana tax revenue from localities that effectively ban the substance. California plans to withhold pot-funded law enforcement and health grants from places with a commercial marijuana ban. And now, an effort is underway in Massachusetts to reduce the amount of money that cities and towns with bans and other restrictions on operations get from the state’s 17 percent tax on marijuana sales. Massachusetts was one of four states that legalized recreational marijuana by popular vote last year. The 2016 election season doubled the number of states with legal weed to eight plus the District of Columbia. The drug is now legal in Alaska, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada, Oregon and Washington state.

The supervolcano last erupted about 630,000 years ago, according to National Geographic.

If another eruption were to take place, the researchers found that the supervolcano would spare almost nothing. It would shoot 2,500 times more material than Mount St. Helen did in 1980 and could cover most of the U.S. in ash, possibly putting the planet into a volcanic winter. In June, the supervolcano was hit with more than 400 earthquakes in one week, though researchers cautioned it was nothing nothing to be alarmed about.

NASA is working on a way to prevent the supervolcano from destroying mankind,
including trying to cool the magma before it spills over.

Unfortunately, most natural spring water sources these days are polluted with harmful chemicals and disease-causing microorganisms, so it is unsafe to drink. As for “dead” water, it is polluted water that lacks energetics.

South Korea says it has developed technologies to produce graphite bombs capable of paralyzing North Korea’s power supply in case of war, Yonhap news agency reports, citing military officials. The graphite bomb is a non-lethal munition used to disable enemy power grids. It contains fine carbon filaments, which form a dense cloud when the bomb explodes. The carbon fibers stick to power lines, causing shortcuts and disruption of the power supply. The bomb, however, is said to be ineffective against insulated power cables, and it also can be countered by simply shutting down the grid until the carbon cloud settles.
