On Sunday, July 26, 2009, in Malcolm X Park, in Washington, DC, “The People’s Rally” for a Single Payer Healthcare system was held. It featured a “Speak Out” by the uninsured and the underinsured; and by patients, doctors, nurses, political and community leaders. This video features Dr. Ogan Gurel, and Talib Karim a top aide to Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX). Dr. Gurel just completed a 700-mile walk from Chicago to Washington, D.C., which he did in order to draw attention to the healthcare crisis in this country.
