The arraignments of Eli and Avi Werdesheim on criminal charges was held this morning, Feb. 16, 2011, in the Circuit Court of Baltimore City. They are accused of assaulting, last November, a fourteen-year old African American youth. At that time, the defendants were members of “Shomrim,” a Jewish patrol group. The Werdesheim brothers pled “not guility,” and have denied, through counsel, all wrongdoing. Protesters on both sides of this issue showed up at the Court House this morning. The trial date for the Werdesheim brothers has been set for May 2, 2011.
