Cop Assaults Handcuffed Woman - Multiple Facial Fractures Permanent Nerve Damage Brain Damage
This is what lies at the heart of de-funding the police. This is the reason why the American people have grown to hate police. But de funding is the worst solution to an already intolerable social ill. New rules and laws are needed governing all aspects of policing including how police applicants are selected. The psychopaths must be eliminated from police work.
The purpose of the police is to protect and serve not to bully and brutalize. He told her "I'm going to take you down to the ground face first if you don't stop" meaning stop asking about the medication. A very similar case occurred in Ohio with Hope Steffie, a school teacher who was brutally assaulted and permanently injured by a police officer for asking him to return her dead sisters drivers license. Hope Steffie was awarded many millions in an out of court settlement. She was very lucky to have lived through the assault.
Ms. Melton's case has interesting similarities. In both instances they were non violent women and the infraction was the simple act of asking a question. And like Hope Steffie Ms. Melton is lucky to have survived the assault. She too will be awarded many millions of dollars.
Any man who would brutalize a defenseless woman causing permanent injury for simply asking a question is not a man but a psychopath. Sgt. John Gambone should be terminated without pay and charged with Second-degree assault, a Class 4 felony. He told her he would throw her to the pavement face first if she didn't stop asking for her medication. She shut up but he threw Ms. Melton to the pavement anyway, face first with her hands cuffed behind her back. The fact that Sgt. John Gambone is still on the job is disgusting and disappointing.
