We note that as trend forecasters, we analyze the current events forming trends, and based on solid facts and hard data we make our trend forecasts. We are not futurists. No one can predict the future because there are too many wild cards, be they made by humans or Nature. And those wild cards that we did not see coming, also change our trend forecasts. As we greatly detail in this and previous Trends Journals, with few exceptions, such as in the U.S., there is a global economic slowdown. And the more it slows down the deeper nations and consumers fall into debt.
