Just about every Friday, the "Women in Black," show-up to demonstrate at McKeldin Square at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. April 4th was no different. I got a chance to talk with Betsy G. Cunningham, who is a veteran activist with that peace group.

A demonstration was held by activists at McKeldin Square, in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, at 5 PM, on Wednesday, April 2, 2014. Their purpose was to respond to today’s SCTOUS decision involving campaign financing. The ruling, by a 5 to 4 vote, extends the right of fat cats donors, like the Koch Brothers and Sheldon Adelson, to dominate contributions to candidates in any given election cycle. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) warned the decision could lead “to an oligarchic form of society, which will control our political process.” One of the Justices, the Hon. Stephen Breyer, said: “Where enough money calls the tune, the public will not be heard.” Sharing their views on the video on this controversial decision and what the public can do about it, are: Rep. John Sarbanes (3rd-D); activists Charlie Cooper (Get Money Out of - Maryland); and Jennifer Bevan-Dangel (Common Cause of Maryland.)

Legendary Sevastopol
You fly , winged wind
Over seas , above ground .
Tell you everything in the world
About my favorite city .
Everything in the world you narrate ,
As for the Crimean shores
Our grandfathers fought
And in famous battles .
Legendary Sevastopol
Impregnable to enemies
Sevastopol, Sevastopol -
Pride of Russian sailors.
Here to fight , holy and right ,
Went for his homeland
And your former glory
We have multiplied in battle.
Throwing off the black jackets ,
Black Sea Fleet during the war ,
Here at the tanks come with a grenade
Went to their death thy sons .
If overseas
We were enemies will come with a sword ,
We meet uninvited guests
Fire fighter .
Know the whole country dear,
That ships are not asleep
And reliably protect
shores of his native land .
"For all the fearmongering we hear out of our politicians on the right about how heaven forbid we're going to turn into Greece, the one country you never hear them talk about any more is Iceland. The reason they don't is, as Cenk Uygur explained on his show this Tuesday, they took a different path than the United States after their financial crisis and nationalized the banks, threw some the people responsible for the crash in jail and bailed out the homeowners instead of worrying about only bailing out the banks. And now they're coming back and their economy is growing again..."
On March 7, the London Independent headlined "Exclusive: UK banks in row over Yulia Tymoshenko 'millions,' " saying:
"...(N)umerous foreign accounts were set up in (her) name (and) her family."
At least 85 bank accounts "containing millions of pounds were linked to (her) and relatives."
It bears repeating. She's a billionaire mega-thief. She accumulated wealth the old-fashioned way. She stole it.
Lawrence Graham is a UK lawyer. In March 2013, Ukraine's legitimate government enlisted him to investigate Tymoshenko's "allegedly misappropriated" wealth.
He reviewed 278 bank accounts in 26 countries. He learned Tymoshenko or family members "were either beneficiaries or signatories to accounts which included a number of UK banks." http://www.thepeoplesvoice.org/TPV3/Voices.php/2014/03/14/meet-obama-s-new-ukrainian-friends
Gold expert Jim Sinclair is issuing a warning of a massive downside risk to U.S. sanctions against Russia. Sinclair says watch the "struggling dollar" and Russia accepting any currency for oil and natural gas. Sinclair explains, "It's struggling . . . because it smells the real teeth of retaliation for sanctions being in the simple acceptance of any currency whatsoever for payment for gas to Europe. Believe me, they will settle in other currencies. . . . It makes energy cheaper. Why in the world would anyone want to pay in dollars if they can pay in their own currency? Russia could retaliate in a way that would have phenomenal impact on the U.S. dollar. . . . Russia has the upper hand. They have it in their ability to turn the U.S. economy upside down and into collapse. There is no question whatsoever. Putin doesn't need a nuclear bomb. He has a nuclear economic bomb that he can set off at any time."
