He was charged with the murder of an unarmed, 17-year-old, Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida on Feb. 26, 2012. McKeldin Square in the Inner Harbor of Baltimore was the site of the press conference. Representatives from the Baltimore Peoples Power Assembly and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC Baltimore) shared their views on the case and their plans for “future protests.” Speaking on camera are: The Rev. Cortly C.D. Witherspoon, Sharon Black, Lee Patterson and Steven Ceci. An album of 14 photos, at: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10201647817340619.1073741897.1334685315&type=1&l=f756bb3494

Economist Dr. Paul Craig Roberts says the U.S. is trying to gain global support for the U.S. dollar through trade deals. Not every country thinks the U.S. will be successful in saving the dollar. Dr. Roberts points out, "China is importing a tremendous amount of gold. They seem to not have much confidence in the longevity of American plans." Even so, a dollar crash might be pushed back. Dr. Roberts contends, "They can put that off for a long time if these various schemes work." And if they don't work? Roberts says, "Well, there's going to be a big blowup. I think there will be a big blowup anyhow." Join Greg Hunter as he goes One-on-One with former Assistant Treasury Secretary Dr. Paul Craig Roberts

On Thursday afternoon, July 11, 2013, CODEPINK activists and their Human Rights allies staged a lively demonstration in front of the U.S. Justice Department in Washington, D.C. They were there to protest the Justice Department’s “relentless campaign to hunt down and block whistleblower Edward Snowden’s attempt to seek [political] asylum.” They also repeated their demand that the Justice Department “stop the NSA from its [unlawful] surveillance of Americans and foreigners.” Speaking on camera, at the rally, about these important civil liberties issues is Malachy Kilbride, a social justice activist from Virginia. The 300 Men March against violence was held on Friday night, July 5, 2013, in Baltimore. With the temperature striking close to 90 degrees, approximately 500 men from Baltimore City and beyond paraded along North Avenue to help deter “violent crime” in the city. I caught up with the marchers at North Avenue and Charles Street--close to the finish line for the event. To learn more details about the march, go to: https://www.facebook.com/events/141100086087257/ Speaking on camera are: activist Duane “Shorty” Davis; a volunteer at the event; and the Rev. Ryan Preston Palmer. He’s the pastor of the Seventh Baptist Church, which is located at North Avenue and St. Paul Street.

A demonstration was held at noon, on Tuesday, July 2nd, at the Social Security Headquarters at Woodlawn, in Baltimore County, MD. Activists were scheduled to form a “human chain” outside parts of the complex to say “no” to a scheme entitled, “Chained CPI.” It has been put on the table by the Obama-Biden administration to please, some suspect, the wirepullers on Wall Street. It will surely hurt folks on Social Security and aid the notoriously greedy 1% Gang. See: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/federal-eye/wp/2013/04/18/how-would-chained-cpi-affect-your-benefits/. Its purpose is to cut Social Security benefits by “letting inflation eat into annual cost-of-living increases.” One of the speakers at the rally was Fred D. Mason. He’s President of the Maryland State and D.C. AFL-CIO. Mason said that people in this country are getting fed-up with politics that places unfair burdens on working class people and the retirees. The Chained CPI scheme, he revealed, will take “$300 billion on more” out of Social Security. Mason added: “I’m mad as hell...The people are getting mad as hell, too, and they aren’t going to take it anymore...It’s time to stand-up and fight back.” The rally was sponsored by the “Alliance for Retired Americans.”

"There will be tremendously destructive weather events and the risk of war itself will produce conflict on a scale never seen before in this world." "It will require a New Message from God to provide clarity, wisdom and Knowledge that humanity will need now if it is to capitalize on its strength and avoid capitulating to its weaknesses." Human Rights activist Diane Wilson was arrested, on Wednesday afternoon, June 26, 2013, around 2 PM, for going over the fence and landing on the lawn at the White House in a daring protest action. A member of the Veterans for Peace and cofounder of CODEPINK, she has been on “a water-only hunger strike since June 1st in solidarity with the detainees at Guantanamo.” Before the demonstration began, Ms. Wilson shared with me the reasons why she is protesting. Soon after her arrest, about 20 more activists were arrested in front of the White House. On this tape, activist Kevin Zeese gives his analysis of the demonstration. He held President Barack Obama responsible for Guantanamo and labeled him “a torturer-in-chief!” To learn more about the exact number of arrests and charges and background on today’s demonstration, check out: https://www.facebook.com/witnesstorture and https://www.facebook.com/veteransforpeace and https://www.facebook.com/codepinkalert
