Two song/videos have captured the hearts of Egyptians and are a way for us to join in the bitter-sweet euphoria of their magical moment in history. The most widely watched video/ song is "The sound of freedom" by Eid Amir/ Many Adel. Here it is with subtitles.
(My translation) I came and vowed not to go back And wrote with my blood in all the streets We made listen those who weren’t listening And defied all the strictures/ forbiddens Our weapons were our dreams Tomorrow is clear before us For a long time waiting Looking for and not finding our place In all the streets of our land The sound of freedom calling.
The poetry read out in the middle is by Abdel-Rahman El-Abnudi: (My translation) Oh dark Egyptian hands, extending discriminating amid the roar, breaking the poster frames under the sun at this appropriate time. The brightness in the sound of the crowd… see Egypt the family of the nation of old men, entrenched old men, vicious, they eat our country, and are alike insatiable, greedy, looking the same. Creative youth arose and turned its autumn into spring and realized a miracle, awakened the killed from the killing. Kill me. My death will not return your country again. I am writing with my blood a new life to our homelands. My blood, it and the spring, the two in the colour green and I am smiling from my happiness and not unhappy.
Amir and Adel certainly were opportunists in the best sense of the word, quickly writing a song, preparing the staging it as part of the demos. It's rather fluffy music, a remix of the famous "We Are the World" video of 1985, but i realize they didn't have much time. They're not well known. It captures the euphoria that people still feel.
The best song that came out during the revolution which I quote in US-Egypt: 'Why?'.
How (Why)? by Mohamed Munir
How to make you happy with me, dear? Your name is beloved but you continue to upset me. How can you not feel my basic goodness?
I don't feel in your love any reason (impulse) Nor does my truth in loving you console me How is it I raise your head and you put me down?
I am your oldest street I am your hopes better than those that abuse you I am a child dependent on you Lost in the middle of the road/ life.
If love of you was my choice My heart would long ago have changed you for another But I vow I will continue to change your life for the better Till you are content with me.
How can (why do) you leave me in weakness? Why are you not standing at my side? I live my life in this condition so I don't have to see fear in your eyes. On your land and sea, how can I protect your back While sleeping with my own back exposed, humiliated and embarrassed?

Over 13,000 angry union supporters gathered at the capital building in Madison, Wisconsin for a 17-hour public hearing on the issue. The protesters are calling for opposition to the bill, and an end to Walker's governorship as a whole. But in Tennessee, where their oil billionaire republican governor is moving forward with the same plan to strip unionized state workers of their rights there hasn't been a peep out of the sheep.
Good riddance to Mubarak and all Zionist Running Dogs. The revolution is coming, not just to the Mideast but to the whole world against International Zionism and Globalism. The arraignments of Eli and Avi Werdesheim on criminal charges was held this morning, Feb. 16, 2011, in the Circuit Court of Baltimore City. They are accused of assaulting, last November, a fourteen-year old African American youth. At that time, the defendants were members of “Shomrim,” a Jewish patrol group. The Werdesheim brothers pled “not guility,” and have denied, through counsel, all wrongdoing. Protesters on both sides of this issue showed up at the Court House this morning. The trial date for the Werdesheim brothers has been set for May 2, 2011. BLOCKBUSTER EXCLUSIVE: NUCLEAR TERROR-”THE KHALEZOV EFFECT”
NUCLEAR TERRORISM IS HERE, AMERICANS HAVE DIED AND OUR GOVERNMENT HAS LIED
Dimitri Khalezov talks about nuclear terrorism, 9/11 and who is responsible for terror attacks that have killed thousands of Americans.
What if someone could prove that the terrorist bombs, Oklahoma City, Beirut Marine Barracks, the Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia, the Bali attacks and more, many more weren’t car and truck bombs at all, not the kind we were told, what then? Buildings thrown into the air like toys, mushroom clouds rise a dozen miles, explosions larger than anything known previously, many times larger than the biggest bomb, even larger than exploding munition ships from World War 2. These have happened over and over, been misreported in our news, nuclear attacks, new precision weapons that emulate conventional explosives. http://www.veteranstoday.com/2011/02/10/gordon-duff-nuclear-terror-the-khalezov-effect-video/

"What a powerful book ! Everyone who has believed the "official" story for us going to war against Iraq - must read this book. It's clear after reading Susan's book that the intelligence was not there for an invasion of Iraq. Since 9/11, brave people that told the true facts on Iraq - like Susan Lindauer - were silenced. The Patriot Act was - and still is - being used as a weapon against our citizens to control the narrative on the "War on Terror"... Susan is courageous and a true patriot for publishing this book - her story of abuse by our government needs to be read by the President and every Congressman before the next vote to extend the Patriot Act is taken."

Cops in America are heavily armed and trained to be bullies, routinely hurting people. After a number of mistakes committed by SWAT teams breaking into the wrong home of citizens and constant confrontations with people, are police overstepping their boundaries? Former Reagan Administration advisor Paul Craig Roberts says people who are attracted to police forces are bullies and sociopaths. anthonyww713- "The police protect and serve the state. They do not serve the people. The police are paid to build evidence against citizens. The police are never here to help anyone except themselves."
With all the commotion over the invasiveness of the naked-body scanners used by the United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA), one question that has been ignored is who is profiting from TSA’s use of the body scanners? Mark Hemingway and Tim Carney at The Examiner discovered the shameful answer: George Soros, Michael Chertoff, and a number of lobbyists. Both Soros and Chertoff are profiting from the naked-body scanners by way of the company Rapiscan, whose contract is worth $173 million. Lobbyists for this company include Susan Carr, a former senior legislative aide to Rep. David Price (D-N.C.) who is coincidentally chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee. Former Homeland Security secretary Michael Chertoff was “flacking for Rapiscan,” writes Tim Carney of The Examiner: After the undie-bomber attempt on Christmas 2009, Chertoff went on a media tour promoting the use of these scanners, without disclosing that he was getting paid by Rapiscan, one of the two companies currently contracted by TSA to take a nude picture of you at the airport. Just days after the attempted Christmas attack, the New York Times explained: Screening technologies with names like millimeter-wave and backscatter X-ray can show the contours of the body and reveal foreign objects. Such machines, properly used, are a leap ahead of the metal detectors used in most airports, and supporters say they are necessary to keep up with the plans of potential terrorists. "If they’d been deployed, this would pick up this kind of device," Michael Chertoff, the former homeland security secretary, said in an interview…. http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/economy/commentary-mainmenu-43/5240-getting-rich-from-the-naked-body-scanners
