"Gilad Atzmon talks of the inevitability of Israel being a state of its citizens and therefore no longer a Jewish state. This video got unjustly restricted by YouTube - seemingly because of Armenian protests at the satirical comment that the Jews should go back to Armenia (the source of the Judaism that converted the Khazars). NEVER was it said that the Jews (ie. people who think they are) were the same people as the Armenians, anymore than they think they are the same people as the Palestinians. So the comments are now closed as there is no progression in them. And they have caused a YouTube restriction!" - Morris

Former U.S. Diplomat, and U.S. Army/Army Reserves veteran, Ann Wright, a retired Colonel, described how Palestinians are being slaughtered again in the “border zone” at Gaza/Egypt. She traveled to Gaza three times in 2009. Col. Wright, who is also a CODEPINK activist, denounced the ongoing “collective punishment,” which is the fate of the Palestinians under the Israeli onslaught. In her remarks, she also referred to “The Goldstone Report,” and to the case of Rachel Corrie. See: goldstone-report.org/ and rachelcorrie.org/ For more on Col. Wright and also Gaza, go to: counterpunch.org/wright04302010.html and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ann_Wright Col. Wright’s comments were made on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at a “Teach-In on Capitol Hill,” held in Room 2168 of the Rayburn House Building, in Washington, D.C. The forum dealt with the question of what the U.S. Congress must do to end the U.S. Wars and secure a peaceful Middle East. Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich (D-OH) served as the host/moderator for the forum. "On April 20, 2010, author and political gadfly Ralph Nader gave a lecture at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), in Baltimore, MD. He spoke before a near capacity audience for over an hour. Mr. Nader spotlighted corporate power and abuses in the U.S., and how AIG, the insurance titan, is the biggest recipient of “welfare--$182 Billion!” He showed how the workers in Western Europe have long had splendid social programs, like: “universal health insurance,” that are regularly denied our citizens. Mr. Nader submitted that the American psyche is dominated by a “fundamentalist market” ideology. Corporation loyalty, he also charged, citing various examples of gross abuse, is to the “dollar sign,” and not to the country. Professor Fimin DeBrabander of MICA introduced Mr. Nader."

On a sunny Saturday, May 1, 2010, scores of individuals participated in plays, parades and protests. They also staged “storytelling” events, which spotlighted different themes, particularly, “Human Rights.” One play was held in the historic Plaza at Baltimore’s City Hall, only blocks from the Inner Harbor. Excerpts of the play are featured in this video, along with a commentary by Ms. Diane Wittner on the purposes of the “May Day” action. (Ms. Wittner is associated with the activist project, "Chesapeake Citizens." For background, go to: chesapeakecitizens.org/?id=home Activist Luis Larin is the first person speaking on camera on this video. Mr. Larin is a member of the United Workers. United Workers, a human rights organization of social justice activists and low-wage employees, staged the day’s color-filled festivities, in associate with other like-minded progressive individuals and groups. Josh Stieber described his experience in war of being trained and ordered to do evil things, and having religious authorities advise him to just trust the military. Ray McGovern asked him to speak more about this, and Chris Hedges and David Swanson offered their thoughts as well. This was during a Thursday, April 29, 2010, “Teach-In on Capitol Hill,” held in Room 2168 of the Rayburn House Building, in Washington, D.C., dealing with the question of what the U.S. Congress must do to end the U.S. Wars and secure a peaceful Middle East. One of the five panelists at the event was Jeremy Scahill. He is an investigative reporter and the author of the best-selling book, “Blackwater:The Rise of the World’s Most Powerful Mercenary Army.” During the Q&A period, he addressed a query dealing with torture. Mr. Scahill said: “Torture is ongoing under the [President Barack] Obama adminstration...at Guantanamo and... around the world.” He described in detail one of the gruesome torture techniques still currently in use to day. Shades of the Spanish Inquisition! For more details on this event and its sponsors, go to: http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/node/51592

"Kari Lydersen has penned an absorbing book, “Revolt on Goose Island.” It chronicles how 250 members of the UE, a progressive union, occupied a factory, “Republic Windows,” in Dec., 2008, located in Chicago, IL, rather then just meekly submit to its closing. It’s labor history at its best. This “direct action” came not long after AFL-CIO labor leader Richard L. Trumka denounced the evils of “globalization,” and the predatory schemes of the Wall Street boy-ohs. Ms. Lydersen’s “Book Talk” event was held at Red Emma’s Coffee House, a worker-owned store, in Baltimore, MD, on April 9, 2010."
