On Thursday afternoon, Dec. 3, 2009, advocates for social justice held a rally in front of the White House. Graylan Hagler, a longtime fighter for peace and justice. He said: “Let’s build a world filled with justice...We need to push and shove to make people do what is right...If we can reward the banks, then we can surely reward the workers in this country.” Rev. Hagler strongly objected to President Barack Obama’s plan to send 30,000 more U.S. troops to Afghanistan. The politicians are not in Washington to serve their country, they became politicians in order to line their pockets. They serve the people who are looting America into collapse, the military industrial bankster gang who used 9-11 to enslave America, and who now wage war after war, using America like a club to beat and rob smaller countries of their resources. On the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, antiwar activists gathered in a light rain, at the War Memorial Building, in Baltimore, MD, just opposite the City Hall Plaza. The purpose of the demonstration was to protest President Barack Obama’s LBJ-Vietnam-War-like decision to escalate the conflict in Afghanistan. He has ordered 30,000 more U.S. troops to that country, which is well known as a “graveyard of imperial powers.” I talked with Jim Baldridge, who is with the “Veterans for Peace” and the “Vietnam Veterans Against the War.” He spoke out strongly against Obama’s latest war-related conduct. Activists from “The Pledge of Resistance,” “Baltimore United for Peace and Justice,” and the “ANSWER Coalition” were at the rally.

He said: “I believe [President Barack] Obama is worse than Bush! Bush was a buffoon... a puppet. [Dick] Cheney was behind him. But, Obama [came out of] Harvard Law School...He speaks in complete sentences...And, this guy is taking us, this country, into deeper and deeper quicksand.” Activists from “The Pledge of Resistance,” “Baltimore United for Peace and Justice,” and the “ANSWER Coalition” were at the rally.

A war that will do nothing to protect our security.

A war that will result in the deaths of thousands of Americans and Afghans.

A war that will eat up resources that should be going to jobs, homes, schools, health care. A war that will hurt rather than help the people of Afghanistan. Join us in the work ahead to work to stop the funding for this war. We CANNOT remain on the sidelines anymore. This war MUST end. Baltimore’s Mayor Sheila Dixon was convicted on Dec. 1, 2009, by a jury of her peers, of stealing gift cards, worth about $525, intended for the “poor and needy.” As a result, she will forfeit her office, lose her $83,000 a year pension, and could go to jail. Her crime paled in significance to the massive wrongdoings of the Wall Street Mob, but, the State Prosecutor underscored to the jury: The Mayor was stealing “from the children of Baltimore!”
