Heading for total destruction of Subcontinent

From all indications, it appears that the Indian Government is gearing up for launching an attack against Pakistan despite some voices of sanity advising against the misadventure. Latest to add to the worries of those against the war hysteria created by New Delhi is a report that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh chaired a secret meeting of Nuclear Command Authority last Saturday meaning that the Congress led Government has closed all options but war.

After the Mumbai tragedy, Indian Government moved quickly, as if in a pre-planned manner, to pressurize Pakistan for reasons best known to it but apparently to build up public support before elections. It held meetings of Cabinet Committee on Security, Services Chiefs, Ambassadors posted in world capitals and now the more worrisome Nuclear Command Authority. This clearly exposes intentions of the Indian Government that it could go to any extent, even to the use of nuclear weapons, despite its tall claims that it would not be the first to use these weapons. Indian Airforce is busy in carrying out precision bombing practice to be ready for an attack.

Sensing the grave dangers, former US National Security Advisor and an aide to President-elect, Zbigniew Brzezinski had been compelled to speak about the consequences of war between the nuclear armed neighbours and asked the incoming Obama Administration to assist the two countries towards improving their fragile relationship. He was right while saying that any war will destroy both the countries.

In the emerging dangerous scenario, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi though hoped that India would not commit the mistake of carrying out "surgical" strikes, yet at the same time warned that Pakistan would be compelled to respond if it happens. Since the Mumbai incident Pakistan had adopted a reasonable, balanced, cooperative and non-aggressive approach and offered to take action if New Delhi provided proof of involvement of elements on its soil.

But the Congress-led Government, including Party President Sonia Gandhi and other leaders appear to be following the path of confrontation despite some sane voices opposing war which would have the danger of assuming a nuclear dimension and that means total destruction of the Subcontinent.

Therefore heavy responsibility lies on the Indian leadership and it must think twice before going for any misadventure because if a war breaks out, then both the sides would use their military might causing innumerable losses beyond one’s imagination. There is still time that sanity prevails, both the sides must resolve the issue through extending cooperation to each other and save the Subcontinent from total annihilation.

Mystifying the sultry blues of "Blue Sun" to the punk-infused anthems like "Brass in Pocket," the band slips into these heterogeneous grooves with greased skids.
