1984 / SEE THE MOVIE AGAIN, SEE OURSELVES NOW

On rewatching George Orwell's 1984, the movie, starring John Hurt and Richard Burton ~ I was amazed, once again, at how prophetic Orwell was and could not help but compare our present endless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to Orwell's Oligarchical collectivism where war is not meant to be won ~ it is meant to be continuous:

Watching the movie 1984 yesterday was an interesting and spellbinding experience ~ I just wanted to quickly review it and ended up spending the whole morning deeply engrossed in its message and astonished as to its significance as to what's happening in our world right now.

George Orwell was a master of wit and satire, critically observing the politics of his time and prophetically envisioning the future. He devoted much of his life to various causes critical of capitalism, imperialism, fascism, and Stalinism, but in the end what he “most wanted to do is to make political writing into an art” and that he did, inspiring countless authors in the process, including myself. As Orwell wrote in the preface of his other published work ( Animal Farm ) “Liberty is telling people what they do not want to hear."

There are so many themes in this timeless 1984 classic, starring John Hurt and Richard Burton, that fully resonate with today's times ~ particularly when O'Brien gives Winston Goldstein's book ~ and discusses the growing resistance. The book is entitled The Theory and practice of Oligarchical collectivism. And in the latest example of Corporate tyranny and intimidation from Big Pharma ~ the FTC and FDA have teamed up to threaten Dr. Andrew Weil with criminal arrest and prosecution over his true statements about an immune boosting formula containing astragalus (an herb that can help protect you against the swine flu). http://www.naturalnews.com/027303_the_FTC_America_vaccines.html

Here are some excerpts from the before mentioned Goldstein book ~ Ignorance is strength ~ poverty and ignorance keeps the Oligarchy in control. ( Think the Mainstream press who are increasingly the mouth organ of the Oligarchy ~ as they were in the build up to the illegal war with Iraq )

Who controls the past controls the future ~ Who controls the present controls the past ( Think the Obama administration's reluctance to examine the torture and abuses of power by the Cheney/Bush administration.)

War is waged by the ruling group against its own subjects ~ the object is to keep the Oligarchy intact. ( Think Patriot act and illegal domestic spying and withholding of information ~ which still continues today )

The War effort is planned to keep society on the brink of starvation and poverty ~ thus beholden to the Oligarchy ( Listen to Gerald Celente talk about the reality of our current Depression which the Oligarchy continues to ignore ~ but Celente also predicts that there will be a spiritual awakening which will be the key to our survival ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8CvK5l7o5U

Reality is in the mind of the collective party which is immortal ( Think Henry Kissinger ( a member of the Oligarchy ) saying " It's not a matter of what is true that counts but a matter of what is perceived to be true." and then think of the continuing 9/11 cover up. )

I sincerely believe that Winston at the end of the movie is saying ' I Love You ', from deep within himself, to his lover, who has just left the restaurant, and not to the party who has demanded his love and allegiance, through physical and emotional torture ~ thus implying that Love is more vital than Hate and that love eventually triumphs because it is deepest within us all.

As such, Orwell's 1984 movie portrays the consequences of a world without love ~ cast in the grey colors of a Sunless world of ego consciousness where fear, control and hate reign in a mindset of barren rote survival. With love, the green shoots and Sun reappear, if only for a moment, for just a glimpse of a Unified Field of love and soul consciousness, that exists not only beyond time and space but also beneath our deepest fears, is enough for humanity to resist, prevail and evolve.
