Obama is rolling the dice and playing the numbers

October 2nd, 2010

One thing is for certain, anything that comes out of Washington DC regardless of political alignment or the person spewing it, or even if it’s from political pundits within the MSM all of it contains numbers.

There is a fascination for numbers, and there are numbers attached to almost everything these days. I invite you to pick up any recent news story from any news source you prefer and read the top three political stories and I will almost bet the farm there is mention of numbers in the article somewhere.

Whether it’s Obama’s approval ratings which contain low numbers or the national deficit which contains too many numbers there are numbers all over DC. Now that election time is again upon us we will also be seeing how much the black tie political fund-raising dinners cost per plate which get you your 1 minute photo op with your favorite political. Then there will be the numbers in terms of how much each candidate has spent on their campaign and how much it will cost to investigate any wrong doing within that same campaign once the final votes are counted in terms of numbers. Then once in office all of these newly elected politicians will also spend their time worrying about their own approval numbers.

These politicians will also submit new bills that are all identified by their house bill numbers which all of these bills will contain even more numbers inside. These numbers inside will indicate what the bill will cost and polls numbers indicating how much the bill is needed by the number of people it will serve then a few more numbers on who and how the new bill will be paid for. Let us not forget there will be a number from the CBO indicating what the entire bill will actually cost and how much money the politicians were paid to create the bill and finally how much the bill will add to the national deficit in terms of numbers.

There are also numbers in other areas in politics as well, such as the number of days Obama has spent on vacation, the number of Czars he has appointed, the amount it cost to pay the White House staff and even the amount of money (in numbers) the Secret Service and the presidential motor pool cost per hour. I once even remember an article when Obama was staying in some fancy hotel during one of his vacations mentioning his egg breakfast cost tax payers almost $46.00 dollars.

I will say that if Obama continues to play the numbers as in gambling on the nation’s future with his out of control spending and allows the deficit numbers to continue to skyrocket I can almost guarantee his approval ratings will continue to fall to new all time lows. Mr. President, take a hint, low approval ratings are bad numbers for any politician.

I’m not sure about you but I think Obama’s been trying too hard to be #1 while not realizing through his actions and highly numbered spending sprees that his political days are indeed numbered.

Oh and betting the farm as I did earlier, well let’s just say it’s only worth ½ of what it was last year, which was half of the value the year before due to the increasing economic troubles and the housing crash that has affected millions of people even with all the numerous dollars thrown to the problem but on the bright side I still have about $4.00 dollars in my pocket!
