All This and Heaven Too

January 21st, 2012

By Robert Singer

All This and Heaven Too (1940), directed by Anatole Litvak, staring Charles Boyer and Bette Davis, aired this month on Turner Classic Movies.

The movie, and Rachel Field's novel by the same name, is based on the true story of Field's great-aunt, Henriette Deluzy Desportes, a governess employed by Theobald, Duc de Choiseul-Praslin to care for his children.

Henriette wins the love and affection of the children and although the Duc never expresses a love for the governess, we are to assume that he loves her, as well.

And that’s before the Duc beats his wife, Fanny Sebastiani Choiseul-Praslin, to death because she refuses to give Henriette a letter of recommendation. [1]

The Duc tries to make it look like a burglar killed his wife, but no one is fooled. The Duc and Henriette are arrested.

His wife, Fanny, is the daughter of Marachal Horace Sebastiani, one of the leading political and social figures in the Orleans Monarchy of France under King Louis Philippe. [2]

As the Duc is a privileged member of society, only other nobles can hear his case. The noblemen are concerned that if the Duc does not confess the crime, and involve Henriette, the masses will blame the government.

While under arrest, the Duc takes poison and on his deathbed, denies his own guilt and the involvement of the governess.

According to historians, the people of France were so incensed that the monarchy was unable to extract a confession, within a year the Orleans Monarchy (The February Revolution) was overthrown.

Charles Boyer and Bette Davis give the audience a superlative performance lasting 140 minutes, but the idea that Henriette is responsible for the downfall of King Louis-Philippe, in the words of one reviewer, is a historical gaffe.

Had Jack Warner understood that the February Revolution was the belated second phase of the July Revolution (1830) then Warner Brothers might not have paid Rachel Field $100,000 (in 1940 dollars) for the film rights. [3]

Historians agree that the July and February Revolutions were the last stage of the mother of all Revolutions: The French Revolution.

The storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789 brought about radical and social change based on Enlightenment principles of citizenship and inalienable rights for the profane (the common man).

According to our filtered history books, the French Revolution was a popular uprising by peasants, serfs, and the working class (the Third Estate).

The French Revolution
At the beginning of the Revolution, kings, monarchs, and the despots of our history books held supreme power. By the time they ended, the human rights movement replaced centuries of tyranny and oppression for the common man.

Is that possible?

Revisionists are still trying to explain why the despots of our history books wouldn’t use the Guillotine to dispense with such a heretical movement.

Roger Chartier wrote in The Cultural Origins of The French Revolution, the popular notion that the Enlightenment that caused the Revolution makes the mistake of post hoc ergo propter hoc – “after the fact, therefore because of the fact.” Thus, Chartier and other historians claim it was the French Revolution that made the Enlightenment possible.

“The French Revolution will only be the darkness of night to those who see it in isolation; only the times which preceded it will give the light to illuminate it.” The whole social edifice of Ancien Regime France collapsed at a single blow, and the fact that this was in the midst of one of the worst El Niño episodes of the millennium is something that should be taken into account when examining this history.”, de Tocqueville 1952, p. 249

Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité
In the summer of 1789, when France rose up in revolt, it wasn’t over intellectual, social, or political issues; it was food. The country was in the midst of a famine caused by abnormal weather.  The common man was having trouble developing his natural talent and potential because he was hungry.

Although popularly believed to have begun due to a public uprising over lack of food and government representation, the record is quite clear that the revolution was instigated by cells of French Masonry and the German Illuminati (The House of Rothschild). [4]

“If one desires to point to a major world event proven to have been inspired by secret society machinations, one need look no further than the French Revolution, which devastated that nation between 1787 and 1799.”

William Bramley in The Gods of Eden wrote, “during the first French Revolution, a key rebel leader was the Duke of Orleans, who was grand master of French Masonry before his resignation at the height of the revolution.”

“The Masons… originated the Revolution with the infamous Duke of Orleans grand master of French Masonry, at their head.” Rule by Secrecy: The Hidden History That Connects the Trilateral Commission, the Freemasons, and the Great Pyramids, by Jim Marrs.  The Masonic book A Ritual and Illustrations of Freemasonry by Nesta H. Webster.

Why would the Illuminati be behind the French Revolution? See footnote [5] for the answer.

Conspiracy Theory
Admittedly, I can’t swing a cat (or watch a movie) without seeing a conspiracy.

But to suppose a conspiracy involving the House of Rothschild (The Illuminati) and Warner Bros. Studio to hide the fact that the French Revolution was not a popular uprising caused by a famine from one of the worst El Niño episodes of the millennium by circulating a rumor, that All This and Heaven Too was a consolation prize for Jack Warner who lost Gone With the Wind to David Selznick, taking into consideration the mentality of Bette Davis, who was hell-bent on revenge because she lost the role of Scarlett and that Antoine Litvak directed the film with the absolute conviction that a governess was “the woman responsible for the overthrow of Louis-Philippe,” I freely confess, is absurd in the highest degree.

However, knowing that Marie Antoinette never said “Let them eat cake,” and that Jack Warner, who was famous for releasing films with low production costs spent $1,370,000 (in 1940 dollars) on 140 minutes of pure Hollywood Hokum, then if it’s a choice between believing that the story of a murder of a deranged Duchess over a letter of recommendation could ever compete with Gone With The Wind or be a cause of the Revolution of 1848, then, I am forced to confess, a conspiracy between James Armand de Rothschild and Jack Warner to keep the masses from knowing that the French Revolution was not a spontaneous uprising by the Third Estate over intellectual, social, or political issues, is a viable theory.

Endnotes:

[1] Rachel Field never truly explained why Fanny’s initial disdain for Henriette rapidly escalates into a grotesque display of hatred gone mad.

[2] The Orleans Monarchy was a middle-class supported monarchy, and was far more liberal than it's predecessor, the Bourbons under King Louis's cousins. By 1847 it had grown corrupt and was suffering a series a serious scandals. The murder of Duchesse Fanny by her husband was allegedly the last real blow.

[3] The February Revolution in France was one of a wave of revolutions in 1848 that ended the Orleans monarchy (1830–1848) and led to the creation of the French Second Republic. The February Revolution was really the belated second phase of the Revolution of 1830 known as the July Revolution: the event that brought Louis-Philippe of Orleans to the throne of France as a constitutional monarchy.

The House of Rothschild, the Illuminati and The Mysteries of the Freemasons
The "Illuminati" was a name used by a German sect that existed in the 15th century.

Dr. Adam Weishaupt, A Human Devil, was born on February 6, 1748, the son of a Jewish (Khazar) rabbi had been indoctrinated into Egyptian occult. He studied the power of the Eleusinian mysteries and the influence exerted by the secret cult of the Pythagoreans.

Weishaupt also studied the teachings of the Essenes, and acquired copies of the Kabal, The Major Key of Solomon and The Lesser Key of Solomon, which revealed how to conjure up demons and perform occult rituals.

On May 1, 1776, under the direction of the newly formed House of Rothschild, he united all the different occult groups and founded the Ancient Illuminated Seers of Bavaria, derived from Luciferian teachings, which became known as the Order of the Illuminati.

In 1776, one of those coincidences that don’t happen very often happened:

  • May 10, 1776 the Continental Congress authorized the thirteen colonies to form local (provincial) governments.
  • Jul 4, 1776 The Declaration of Independence is signed.

In 1777, Weishaupt joined the Eclectic Masonic lodge "Theodore of Good Counsel" in Munich, and near the end of 1778, he came up with the idea of merging the Illuminati and the Masons.

The Freemasons practiced the occult and professed to have the 'light' received from Satan. By the middle of 1779, the Freemasons were under the complete influence of the Illuminati and the Rosicrucian Order.

Rosicrucians believe that “true knowledge of the universe can only be known by the elite”, who in turn have a responsibility to share this knowledge with the masses.

Freemasonry uses the metaphors of operative stonemasons' tools and implements, against the allegorical backdrop of the building of King Solomon's Temple, to convey the knowledge to the masses.

The Mason’s system of morality, veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols, serve only one purpose. They keep the profane (masses), “who aren’t fornicating and reading the papers” [Albert Camus], busy deciphering the symbols and clues that lead nowhere… until the time of the end.

Ancient knowledge allowed the Knights Templar (and their successors, the Illuminati) to see a future where middle class obsessed with consumerism would weaken Mother-Earth (Gaea).

East-west feudal society had consumers in the “Third Estate”, but first they would need to be “enlightened” with a philosophy and movement based on respect for the dignity of man, concern for his welfare, and the creation of favorable conditions for a just, social “middle class” life. [6]

At the beginning of the French Revolution, kings, monarchs and the despots of our history books held supreme power. By the time it ended, the human rights movement replaced centuries of tyranny and oppression for the common man. Men began to think government was not something kings exercised by divine right and then Maximilien Robespierre started the French Revolution.

The order was given to Robespierre in book form by Rothschild’s agent Adam Weishaupt and his associate Xavier Zwack. The History of the House of Rothschild by Andrew Hitchcock, The Establishment By Ted Lang, Rothschild Timeline - iamthewitness.com

Roger Chartier writes in The Cultural Origins of The French Revolution, the popular notion that the Enlightenment that caused the Revolution makes the mistake of post hoc ergo propter hoc - "after the fact, therefore because of the fact."

Thus, Chartier and other historians without a 20th century environmental perspective of the middle class trashing the planet could not understand why the despots didn’t get out their Guillotine and dispense with such heretical movement.

Once the “Third Estate” (97% of the east-west population) was liberated they became the consumers of our consumer society.

We should be thanking those kings, monarchs and the despots for not cutting off our heads but be sure and blame them for the environmental damage and pollution that according to a United Nations report the GEO4, threatens the planet with Ecocide.

The GEO4 reports the planet and humanity are at serious risk due to “the dangers of climate change, water scarcity, dwindling fish stocks and the pressures on the land and the extinction of species.”

[6] August 26, 1789 - “The Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen” (The Declaration)

The Declaration, the quintessential Enlightenment document written by Marquis de Lafayette gave the emancipated profane a sense of entitlement to the resources of the world. [7]

Lafayette, the man who had been initiated into the Masonic fraternity by George Washington was also a member of the Jacobin Club, the radical nucleus of the French revolutionary movement.

“The Declaration of Human Rights, which was created in France and gradually adopted around the world, was discussed, conceived and written in Masonic lodges before being released to the public. One can retrace those Masonic origins by the use of symbols, who bear little significance to the profane but extremely important to the initiate.” Jacques Ravenne , a pseudonym of a high- ranking French Freemason and author with intimate knowledge of the history and culture of the Order.

Located in a suburb of Toulouse, the “Place de la Révolution” is probably one of the most blatant displays of Illuminati designs in existence:  A huge pyramid hovering atop a map of the world conveys the message of  “what is left to do” rather than “what has been done”. Sinister Sites – Illuminati Pyramid in Blagnac, France

In front of the pyramid are two bronze tablets, which shapes are very reminiscent of Moses’ 10 Commandments. Instead of the Commandments there are engraved astronomical and planetary images. The rectangle slab of bronze uniting the two tablets bears the biggest accomplishment of modern Illuminism: Declaration of Human Rights)

The Declaration contains a great deal of Masonic, Illuminist and alchemical symbols such as (starting from the top): The Eye of the Great Architect in glory, the Ouroboros (snake eating its tail), the Phrygian cap (the red hat under the Ouroboros) and the fasces.

Entitleté

The profane middle class, thanks to the House of Rothschild are afflicted with The Narcissism Epidemic: Living in the Age of Entitlement [7] throughout the last 200 years, rant the same mantra:

Instead of meeting the needs of the people, the private credit monopoly of rich and predatory moneylenders are preying upon the people for the benefit of themselves.

We the people (former serfs, servants and slaves) are not only entitled to be fed, clothed and car-ed but our civil rights include being cur-ed: We are entitled to health care too!

Thus, Chartier and other historians without a 20th century environmental perspective of the middle class “trashing the planet” could not understand why the despots did not use their Guillotine and dispense with such heretical movement.

Thank those kings, monarchs and the despots for not cutting off our heads, but blame them for the environmental damage and pollution, the forces of "modernization” caused once the “Third Estate” (97% of the (French) population) was liberated they became consumers and then after World War II, hyper-consumers.
