On 'Coast To Coast', George Knapp, interviewed Brent Miller who offers a comprehensive description of what could take place by December 21, 2012. Brent Miller is a scientist and the holder of over thirty U.S. patents. He is the founder of the 'Horizon Project', a group of leading scientists, researchers, physicists, astrophysicists, linguistic experts, and geologists from around the world who have been studying the coming 2012 event. Brent and his colleagues have dire warnings for humanity concerning earth's alignment with the 'dark rift'.

Through years of research and historical documentation 'The Horizon Project', has concluded that massive earth changes take place quickly over a period of days or even hours, and not over long spans of time as was previously believed.

Our solar system will reach perfect horizontal alignment with the Milky Way's galactic plane and the black hole which lies at it's center on December 21, 2012, an event that occurs every 24,000 years. Some have reason to believe it could negatively effect all life on earth. The Mayans said: "When the four corners of the earth sit on the 'dark rift', a cosmic portal will open and souls will be harvested." According to Albert Einstein, time and space are distorted by black holes.

There could be a 'Pole Shift' near the time of galactic alignment. The relocation of the poles would cause continents to rise from the ocean's depths while others will sink. The earth is not perfectly round, but slightly larger at the equator from gravitational forces, and the relocation of the poles causes the earth to change shape.

25% of the world's population now lives within eighty miles of a coastline, that's approximately two billion people who would die within forty eight hours of a pole shift from mile high tidal waves and ocean flooding.

Ocean flooding is corroborated by the predictions of 'Our Lady of Fátima'. Pope John Paul II was asked by a reporter "What about the Third Secret of Fatima? Should it not have already been published by 1960?" he replied: "It should be sufficient for all Christians to know this: if there is a message in which it is written that the oceans will flood whole areas of the earth, and that from one moment to the next millions of people will perish, truly the publication of such a message is no longer something to be so much desired."

According to the Horizon Project, almost every ancient culture on earth regardless of their language or what century they lived in has similar legends of high technology civilizations that existed before them. And the legends all speak of the destruction of those civilizations by a water based event.

During the actual shifting of the poles the planet will rotate in a different direction from the atmosphere, generating super wind storms that scour the earth of vegetation and life. Dust will fill the atmosphere from volcanic eruptions triggered by the tremendous gravitational forces exerted on the planet. The dust will block out the sun causing instant winter and possibly an ice age.

Within a matter of months another third of human life on the planet would die from lack of food, clean water, and medical supplies. With this kind of decimation there will be no 'Red Cross', FEMA, roads, infrastructure, communications, technology, and no power grid.

America and other high technology societies would suffer the most, whereas the populations in third world countries wouldn't suffer as dramatically. Poverty has taught them to fend for themselves. They already grow their own crops, keep animals like chickens and pigs, and use very little electricity.

With two thirds of the human population dead and food supplies exhausted and no way of growing more, people will begin to turn on one another and kill for food.

In ice core samples dating back 420,000 years, every 110,000 years there is a huge increase in co2 in the earths atmosphere followed by an immediate ice age, which could indicate that the rise and destruction of human civilization is a repetitive event.

"Much of the sea life would die," according to The Horizon Project, "because sea life can't live in murky waters." The oceans are also the source of half the earth's oxygen, which is produced by phytoplankton, one-celled plants that live at the ocean surface.

When earth passes through the galactic plane it will encounter a concentration of asteroids, some of planetary size, which have lost kinetic energy and no longer travel in a wave pattern around the perimeter of the galaxy like our solar system. Our earth could collide with one or more of these asteroids.

The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood, - Revelation 8:8 one-third of all things living in the sea died, and one-third of all the ships on the sea were destroyed. - Revelation 8:9

The largest super volcano on earth is in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA. It is active and could erupt from the extreme gravitational centrifugal forces exerted on the planet during a pole shift.

"The impact of a Yellowstone eruption is terrifying to comprehend." says Professor McGuire. "Magma would be flung 50 kilometers into the atmosphere. Within a thousand kilometers virtually all life would be killed by falling ash, lava flows and the sheer explosive force of the eruption. One thousand cubic kilometers of lava would pour out of the volcano, enough to coat the whole of the USA with a layer 5 inches thick. The explosion would be the loudest noise heard by man for 75,000 years."

The long-term effects would be even more devastating. The thousands of cubic kilometers of ash that would shoot into the atmosphere would block out light from the sun, causing global temperatures to collapse, throwing the world into an ice age. The world's plant life, the other half the earths oxygen generation system, would be killed by the ash and the drop in temperature. The resulting climate change would devastate the planet, making it virtually impossible to grow food for years. Professor McGuire says "There's nowhere to hide from the effects of a super-volcano. One day - perhaps tomorrow, perhaps in fifty years, perhaps in 10,000 - it will erupt; once again wreaking devastation across the North American continent, bringing the bitter cold of volcanic winter to planet earth. Mankind may become extinct."

Every eleven years the sun's north and south poles reverse causing an increase in activity which takes the form of solar flares: radioactive magnetic ejections from the sun's surface. The flares consist of medium plasma heated to tens of millions of kelvins, electrons, protons, and heavier ions accelerated to near light speed. Flares produce radiation across the electromagnetic spectrum and at all wavelengths, from radio waves to gamma rays. Most of the energy is produced in frequencies outside the visual range and must be observed with instruments.

Approximately every hundred years the sun releases larger bursts of radiation which scientists believe could happen in 2012. The solar storm of 1859, also known as the Solar Superstorm occurred during solar cycle 10. It was the most powerful solar storm in recorded history. Telegraph systems all over Europe and North America failed. A solar event of this magnitude today will destroy satellites, power stations, and the world power grid. According to the warnings, there would be no electricity for an extended period of time and food would run out in just three days. Civilization would be knocked back to the eighteenth century resulting in the complete breakdown of order and mass starvation.

On 4 November 2003, an X45 solar flare occurred. It was so large that it was necessary for atmospheric physicists to create a new logarithmic band for what they called a 'mega flare'.

Each class has a peak flux ten times greater than the preceding one. Within a class there is a linear scale from 1 to 9, so an X2 flare is twice as powerful as an X1 flare.

An X45 mega flare, many times more powerful than the solar storm of 1859, would heat the earth's surface to hundreds of degrees while exposing the earth to fatal amounts of radiation. The surface of the earth facing the sun would be sterilized of all plant and animal life. The plasma in an X45 flare might penetrate the earths protective magnetic field and blast some of the atmosphere and ocean into space, which may have happened to Mars.

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. 2 Peter 3:10

It might be possible to survive the mega flare if one is on the opposite side of the earth from the sun at the time of the event. According to Major Ed Dames and his team of remote viewers, after the flare there will be pockets of life- 'sanctuary', in Poland, Austria, and "all throughout Russia", which gives new meaning to Edgar Cayce's prophecy: "from Russia will come the hope of the world".

As we come closer to galactic alignment the temperature of our solar system is increasing and the gravitational forces are greater. This could cause solar flares to be much more intense and more powerful than anything humanity has experienced.

There are more than 400 nuclear power plants on the earth. Plutonium from Fukushima has now encircled the planet and that tragedy alone threatens life on earth. The radiation and plutonium that would be released into the atmosphere and oceans by the simultaneous melt down of 400 nuclear power plants during a pole shift, would end human life. "Plutonium, the most significant element in nuclear waste, is so carcinogenic that hypothetically half a kilo evenly distributed could cause cancer in everyone on Earth."
