The ‘fiscal cliff,’ Congress, and the spineless, groveling U.S. corporate-stream media

January 15th, 2013

By Larry Pinkney

“The Alice-Wonderland nature of this pronouncement is not lost to me, but after careful and extensive consideration, I find myself stuck in a paradoxical situation in which I cannot solve a problem because of contradictory constraints and rules—a veritable catch 22 . . . I can find no way around the thicket of laws and precedents that effectively allow the Executive Branch of our government to proclaim as perfectly lawful certain actions that seem on their face incompatible with our Constitution and laws, while keeping the reasons for their conclusion a secret.“ —Judge Colleen McMahon, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York (January 2013)

Barack Obama , who is the ongoing chief executive and commander-in-chief of the United States government and military, has, along with his corporate Democratic and Republican party cronies, destroyed the very essence of transparency in government and the adherence to national and international law.

Obama, using his time-tested bait-and-switch tactics has once again callously bamboozled the everyday ordinary Black, White, Brown, Red, and Yellow people of this nation.

The Executive Branch of the U.S. Government is, in fact, the chief executive, Barack Obama. He is the bane of this nation, of humankind, and of Mother Earth. He has, in the name of “hope,” “change,” and moving “forward,” obliterated not only the Constitution of this country, but has made a mockery of international law. Barack Obama, the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, and the corporate-stream media have demonstrated that they are the unabashed enemies of plain ordinary everyday people of this nation and of this planet. The time is NOW to say NO MORE!

The U.S. Congress, both Democrats and Republicans, have substantively, overwhelmingly and repeatedly shown that they are the tools and rubber stamps for Barack Obama. While these two corporate owned symbiotically-joined political parties feign political skirmishes, they are substantively the same party—opposed to the interests and needs of everyday people.

Moreover, the corporate-owned news media, including MSNBC, FOX News, CNN, PBS, ABC, NBC, CBS, ABC, etc., are all part and parcel of the fake Democrat/Republican (left/right) paradigm of control and manipulation of the populace of the populace of the United States. Additionally, much of the so-called ‘alternative’ media plays precisely the same game—to the detriment of the ordinary people of this nation and world.

Barack Obama recently likened himself to a “moderate Republican.” In reality however, Obama is the most dangerous drone missile, ‘kill list,’ NDAA signing 21st century neo-fascist that this nation and world has yet to encounter.

The Constitution of this nation has been made into a sick joke. The ‘left need only apply’ so-called ‘progressives’ and ‘liberals,’ along with the de facto leadership of their rightwing allies, continue to pimp and manipulate the pain of the everyday people irrespective of color.

Obama’s surveillance and political repression state continues to be very much alive and well in the year 2013, as described by Charles Cooper, in his January 2, 2013 article, The Snoop State’s Still Alive and Well (Anybody Notice?) The people of this nation must cease being a herd of sheeple and become thinking, reasoning PEOPLE!

We, the people, cannot and must not depend upon the groveling, spineless corporate-stream ‘news’ media to tell us the truth. Indeed, substantively, NOTHING the U.S. media says is in the collective interest of everyday people. The so-called ‘fiscal cliff,’ like its predecessor criminal trillion dollar corporate bailout (i.e., rip-off), is meant to divert the attention of the people of this nation away from who the real perpetrators of both poverty and (national and international) violence actually are.

The Institute for Public Accuracy, via Allgov.com, dated January 3, 2013, reports that “Unconstitutional Surveillance Powers [Were] Made Law While You Were Focusing On ‘Fiscal Cliff . . . The U.S. Government will continue to spy on Americans’ private communications without a warrant for another five years—and without oversight provisions that were shot down in the U.S. Senate . . . While most Americans celebrated the holidays, President Barack Obama, on Sunday, December 30 [2012], quietly signed into law a five year extension of the FISA Amendments Act of 2008, which made it legal for the National Security Agency to perform warrantless wiretapping, something originated under the George W. Bush administration.”

Barack Obama, the U.S. Congress, and the corporate-stream media have all conspired to bring about the codification into law institutionalized fascism in the United States.

While the vast majority of people in this nation remain in a corporate-government induced stupor, the very essence of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” have been made utterly null and void.

The year 2013 is the next stage of 21st century style fascism in this nation, and the only viable force that can reverse this reality is we, the everyday ordinary people. If the people do not awaken and take action to regain our humanity and concomitant civil and political rights, this nation is doomed—and quite possibly the entire planet.

This year of 2013 must become the year of awakening and resistance—while there is yet time!
