Eric Zuesse
Where can one go in order to find honestly reported news in the English language? I have long searched to find the answer to that question; and here is what I have discovered.
Newspapers and other 'news' media in the U.S. and throughout the world are so unreliable that I have long been searching in vain at www.onlinenewspapers.com/ to see even just one English-language newspaper about national and international affairs that is honest -- meaning, to me, reliable in truthfulness, and reporting all events that seem to me to be historically important, in order for anyone to be able to understand where the world is actually trending, and how it’s trending the way it is.
Then, I finally discovered one such newspaper, except that it's not in the English language; it's in German, but it can be read in English via the automatic translation feature in google chrome. So, I now introduce it to you here below, for your consideration to become your major news source, as it now will be mine.
In my view, this newspaper is far superior to any in the English language, and is well worth the linguistic clumsiness of reading an auto-translation in order for this newspaper to serve as my primary news-source, rather than The New York Times, Guardian, or any English-language newspaper. I am now using this newspaper to supplement the only reliably honest English-language news-sources that are on the Web, which are the following six general news-sites in English: rinf.com, and washingtonsblog.com, and opednews.com, and globalresearch.ca, and smirkingchimp.com, and thepeoplesvoice.org. (Though I submit my own news reports to virtually all English-language ‘news’ media, those are the only ones that didn’t blackball me after I started to report on Obama’s coup in Ukraine, and on the May 2nd massacre in Odessa that was organized and hired by the new Obama-installed Ukrainian Government, and on the subsequent ethnic cleansing war that was waged by this new Ukrainian Government to get rid of the voters for the man whom Obama had overthrown. You can read about all of those matters at those sites, as well as at the specialized news site, ukrainewar.info, which I and several other independent journalists have recently started to bring together the best news coverage of the war in Ukraine. All of the other ‘news’ media in the English language (other than Russia’s sites such as RT, and Vineyard of the Saker) have been essentially blacking-out the truth about this year’s events in Ukraine, or else blacking out other key truths (such as Obama’s fight since just before he became President to weaken Social Security, which Huffington Post and a few others had allowed me to publish), and they possess therefore no reliability, in my opinion.
I’ve not yet found anything that is dishonestly covered in the following newspaper, and so I shall be reading this newspaper regularly, from here on.
Here, then, below, are the main headlines and summaries this past weekend in Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten, or German Economic News, auto-translated here via google, with the pictures removed, presented below in order to give you a fair idea of the main stories that this newspaper was covering this past Saturday and Sunday, and of the angle or focus in each of these news-reports. I highlight in heavy type the main headlines within these summaries. After the weekend’s stories are listed and summarized, I shall present (without boldfaces) below that, the news stories since the weekend.
I start with the weekend’s stories so that, if the U.S. ‘news’ media have ignored a particular one of them, you will already be able to know that, since all of the weekend’s stories are already at least two days old.

The Big Sellout: G20 nations decide massive privatization
For IMF chief Christine Lagarde of the G 20 summit was a great success: privatization on a large scale is in the interests of global corporations and the financial industry. (Photo: AP)
The G20 summit promoted an astonishing fact to light: Because most states fight against over-indebtedness, they cannot finance additional infrastructure projects. Now the [political] leaders themselves want to turn to private investors. The states acting as an area under the control of the IMF, a World Government, will lead to an unprecedented, global wave of privatizations. About the detour of user fees that taxpayers will have to pay for this strategy [in addition to their funding the losses of any investors through the IMF].

Ukraine adopted a new law to be labeled according to the livestock according to EU law. Poroshenko guarantees the meat and dairy consumers as a "safe product". The cost will be taken over by the state, which de facto is on the verge of bankruptcy. Therefore, "aid money from Brussels" will be used to subsidize Ukrainian agriculture. In sum: I find this news-medium to be far more honest than any in the U.S., such as the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Atlantic, Nation, Mother Jones, Harper’s, New York Review of Books, NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS, NPR, Fox, MSNBC, CNN, Bloomberg, and AP. In my opinion, this German newspaper ought also to become a major source of news for the best “alternative news” sites and journalists, including especially the six that I listed above, but also for the high-quality more-specialized news sites, such as voltairenet.org and orientalreview.org. Of course, journalists at other ‘news’ sites, such as Nation, National Review, New Republic, Truthout, and Raw Story, don’t need to bother themselves about separating out propagandistic agendas that drive the ‘reporting’, because they’re being paid to add to that, rather than to overcome it. Journalists who try to overcome it cannot find employers, because employers in the ‘news’ business aren’t in it to spread public understanding but to shape public understanding to fit the agendas of their sponsors or funders. Their real market consists of their advertisers or their funders. Any consumer who buys a subscription to such a ‘news’ source is funding his/her own deception by those advertisers or funders. For some reason I’ve not yet figured out, German Economic News manages economically to survive. Perhaps Germany isn’t quite as corrupt as U.S. and UK are.
