Israel Flagrantly Violates Core International Law

August 29th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Israel wages daily war on millions of Palestinians, filling its gulag with thousands for their political beliefs, including politicians for belonging to the wrong parties.

Currently, 14 PLC members are imprisoned - six on fabricated charges and kangaroo military court convictions, eight uncharged, untried, solely for their political affiliations. None committed any crimes.

Israel is an apartheid police state, far worse than South Africa’s former regime. A previous article said the following: In 2002, Archbishop Desmond Tutu visited Israel. He was "very deeply distressed" by what he saw. He condemned Israeli apartheid. It's worse now than ever.

It "reminded (him) so much of what happened to us black people in South Africa," he said.

He described "the humiliation of the Palestinians at checkpoints and roadblocks, suffering like us when young white police officers prevented us from moving about."

He said Israel would "never get true security and safety through oppressing another people."

He attacked US Jewish political power groups, saying:

"People are scared in this country, to say wrong is wrong because the Jewish lobby is powerful - very powerful."

"Well, so what? The apartheid government was very powerful, but today it no longer exists."

"Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Pinochet...and Idi Amin were all powerful, but in the end they bit the dust."

"Have our Jewish sisters and brothers forgotten their humiliation? Have they forgotten the collective punishment, the home demolitions, in their own history so soon?"

"Have they turned their backs on their profound and noble religious traditions?"

Israel must either "strive for peace based on justice, based on withdrawal from all the occupied territories" or perish Tutu said.

Many others agree. Netanyahu heads a fascist police state - a rogue regime, racist, ruthless, lawless, Arab-hating, wanting Israel exclusively for Jews.

On August 22, Maan News headlined “61-year old female Palestinian held in solitary confinement.” Fathiyeh Abd al-Fattah Khanfar is held in a “ ‘tomb-like’ room in unbearable living conditions” at Al-Ramla jail, according to her lawyer Hanan al-Khatib.

She suffers from foot and back pain as well as a trachea infection. She’s isolated in a cockroach-infested room without “electrical appliances.”

She’s forced to sleep on a thin, dirty mattress atop concrete. She’s denied family and other contacts. She has no access to water or bathrooms with permission from hostile guards.

She’s experiencing torture while being denied needed medical treatment. She’s a mother of seven. She committed no crimes.

In 2011, she was fined nearly $8,000 and imprisoned for 11 months for allegedly trying to deliver a (pre-paid cell phone service) SIM card to her incarcerated son - followed by nine months of house arrest.

Maan News said she and her son Rami “are two of nearly 6,000 Palestinians” in Israeli prisons, including 24 women and hundreds of children (on average about two arrested and detained daily).

Palestinians face harsh police state persecution - viciously abused for not being Jewish. The world community does nothing to hold Israel responsible for its high crimes against millions of victimized people.

  • The Pretender's Magic is their diversity in musical range. Mystifying the sultry blues of "Blue Sun" to the punk-infused anthems like "Brass in Pocket," the band slips into these heterogeneous grooves with greased skids. Chrissie's wide-ranging influences pair with The Pretenders, evolving while retaining core elements of its personality. The eclectic portfolio will consistently deliver a "new" live surprise. Sorry, but there is no raucous Lynyrd Skynyrd "Play Free Bird" here. Everybody has a favorite, many favorites. The diversity of the songs makes every new and old fan curious to learn more about one aspect or another of the band's expression.
