Violence Achieves One Thing Only - More of It

October 23rd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Lunatics in Washington and Israel use premeditated violence as a way to stoke more of it, keep nations and Occupied Palestine in a permanent state of turmoil and chaos, then blame victims for their high crimes - perhaps the dirtiest game of all, causing genocidal slaughter and destruction as well as unspeakable human misery.

Both nations are more feared and hated than any others for good reason - pariah states by any standard, run by lunatic barbarians.

Both prohibit democracy and commit the most egregious human rights abuses. Both long ago adopted state terror and genocide as official policy.

Both serve monied interests exclusively, grievously harming the great majority of their own people. Both wage endless wars of aggression.

Palestine has been a war zone for nearly 70 years - with no letup, state-sponsored violence and persecution ebbing and flowing, at times exploding like summer 2014 and currently.

Netanyahu is an embarrassment to good governance, a war criminal belonging in prison, a world-class thug, an Arab-hating racist, a genocidist.

Palestinians are being summarily executed in cold blood, thousands more harmed and/or imprisoned on phony charges or none at all.

Most cold-blooded murders are justified by false claims of confronting knife-wielding “terrorists” - Israel’s explanation virtually every time without deviation or corroborating proof. Eye witness testimonies and video evidence most often disproves them.

On Monday, Netanyahu pledged no “concessions or tribute” to Palestinians, no conciliatory gestures to reduce tensions or try ending violence.

Nothing to curb an endless cycle of state-sponsored brutality, victims blamed for well-planned, orchestrated and implemented regime crimes - fully supported by Washington.

Both nations bear full responsibility for ongoing violence and chaos, a ruthless pogrom - Nazism against an entire population with no end of horrors in prospect.

The latest incident made world headlines occurred on Sunday. An attacker, automatically called a Palestinian without evidence proving it, was lethally shot by Israeli police in a Beersheba bus station.

Haaretz said an Eritrean was mistakenly shot after being “misidentified as a terrorist.” He apparently had nothing to do with the incident - yet targeted for being Black, then identified as a “foreign national” residing in Israel.

Southern Israeli deputy police commissioner Yoram Levi said an attacker lethally shot a soldier, took his gun and continued shooting, wounding other Israelis. Some reports said 9 or 11, others 5.

An inflammatory New York Times account of the incident headlined “Israeli Soldier Is Killed in Attack by Palestinian” - even though police spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld couldn’t identify the identity of the suspect.

The Times automatically called him “a Palestinian armed with a pistol and a knife,” part of its longstanding one-sided support for Israel, its reporting disgracefully biased, devoid of credibility.

Since October 1, Israeli soldiers and police summarily executed at least 45 Palestinians, in virtually all cases called knife-wielding “terrorists.”

The Times regurgitates official Israeli propaganda instead of explaining how Palestinians are victimized - saying in its latest article “more than 20 Palestinians (were) fatally shot,” suppressing the true number.

Failing to explain only three Israelis were killed since October 1 (not higher misreported numbers). All were fatally shot - none killed by so-called knife-wielding “terrorists.”

Yet The Times persists in falsifying incidents - claiming “five knife attacks against Israelis” on Saturday, blaming Palestinians entirely for ongoing state-sponsored violence, exonerating Netanyahu-ordered viciousness.

Notorious racist settler rabbi/deputy defense minister Eli Ben-Dahan calls Palestinians “beasts,” wants families of alleged “terrorists” expelled, their homes demolished, saying:

“Demolishing terrorists’ houses and deporting their families is the best deterrent and most efficient way to deal with terrorism by individuals.”

He urged Israelis to arm themselves with guns - “be alert and (ready to use them to) prevent (more) terrorist attack(s),” he blustered.

Israel’s deplorable new Arab-hating UN envoy, Danny Danon, lied saying Palestinian authorities teach “kids to stab Jews at school” - wrongfully blaming them for “incitement and hate” against Israel.

“Palestinian leaders have established an incubator to raise children as terrorists,” he blustered - again blaming victims for Israeli high crimes, supported by Western leaders and go-along media scoundrels.

Fascist Israeli officials openly call for assassinating alleged Palestinian “terrorists” - leaving an entire population vulnerable to extrajudicial injustice, revved up Israeli state terror, operating unaccountably as usual.

  • Feminism was once a revolutionary force, a creed born out of struggle, resilience, and the dream of a world much different from what we had been given. It was born from the pain of millions of women working, poor, Black, Indigenous, women of color who refused to take the world as it was. And yet, today, feminism is an idea manipulated, diluted, commodified, and often controlled by those very forces that it initially came into being to dismantle from the military-industrial complex to corporate media giants; feminism today hardly resembles its initial mission of radical social transformation. This has happened because things are ingrained in how our media landscape rolls along. We hardly notice how forces remake feminist discourse into more palatable, consumer-friendly, and politically neutral forms. The corporations that run the media, the intelligence agencies that shape public opinion, and the political powers that remain in control have combined a grand symphony of influence that has redefined feminism, replacing its radical edges with a glittering but hollow vision of empowerment. It is time to reclaim the radical roots of feminism to inspire a new generation of activists to fight for real change.
