Netanyahu Says He’ll “Live Forever by the Sword”

October 30th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Let’s not mince words. Israel is racist, apartheid, fascist police state, Netanyahu heading one of the world’s most ruthless regimes - fully supported by Washington, partnering in each other’s high crimes against peace, fundamental human rights and equal justice for all.

On October 26, Haaretz headlined “Netanyahu: I Don’t Want a Binational State, but We Need to Control All of the Territory for the Foreseeable Future,” quoting him saying:

“I’m asked if we will forever live by the sword - yes,” he responded, explaining what’s already well known. Long ago he scoffed at the so-called peace process, calling it “a waste of time.”

During his reelection campaign last winter, he summarily rejected Palestinian statehood - never on his watch, he declared.

“I think that anyone who is going to establish a Palestinian state today and evacuate lands is giving attack grounds to the radical Islam against the state of Israel. There is a real threat here that a left-wing government will join the international community and follow its orders,” he added in a circulating video at the time.

Haaretz said his latest remarks came during a Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee meeting. MK Betzalel Smotrich asked him why he wasted time talking to Abbas. His response stopped short of explaining it’s to give orders to his installed puppet.

He repeated the long ago discredited Big Lie, claiming Palestinian extremists want Israel destroyed. Rogue states need invented enemies to justice their ruthlessness.

He addressed his proposed scheme to ethnically cleanse hundreds of thousands of East Jerusalem Arab citizens - forcibly displacing them, revoking their citizenship on the phony grounds that they pose a terrorist threat, as well as his way to restore calm.

He blamed lack of Justice Ministry “progress” on the matter. PLO executive committee member Hanan Ashwari commented on his scheme, saying “(t)his alarming escalation, an inhuman and illegal measure, must be stopped immediately.”

“Should this be adopted, such a measure will transform the actual status of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to ‘non-existence,’ and it will deprive them of the most basic rights and services, including shelter, healthcare and education. This would also provoke confrontations with serious ramifications throughout the region and beyond.”

The New York Times and other media scoundrels systematically ignore mounting Palestinian deaths, injuries, mass arrests and suffering at the hands of a brutal occupying power, waging premeditated state terror against an entire defenseless population.

Since October 1 alone, Israeli forces and settlers murdered over 60 Palestinians in cold blood, sweeping claims of countering knife-wielding assailants grossly exaggerated.

The Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association holds Israel entirely responsible for ongoing violence, vicious collective punishment. From October 1 through the 25th, it reported daily mass arrests throughout the Territories - 942, including 144 children.

Around 6,300 Palestinian political prisoners languish under hellish gulag conditions, horrifically mistreated, including 270 children and 36 women. Administrative detentions without charges or trials “are alarmingly increasing on a daily basis,” Addameer explained.

It said detainees aren’t “receiving enough food, hygiene products, clothes, mattresses or pillows in addition to the overcrowding in cells and other inhuman and degrading detention conditions.”

From October 1 through Sunday, over 2,245 Palestinians were injured - 645 from live fire, another 1,600 from potentially lethal rubber or plastic covered steel bullets, thousands more from toxic tear gas inhalation.

Israeli forces continue committing daily high crimes - with full support from Washington, EU countries and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, complicit in ongoing Israeli ruthlessness.

At least 30 Palestinians were kidnapped for anti-occupation harshness social media comments, charged with incitement or held uncharged under administrative detention. Not a single Israeli was arrested for posting anti-Palestinian racist remarks.

Addameer explained the case of 18-year-old Mohammad Burqan, shot in his left eye by an Israeli rubber bullet. Emergency surgery couldn’t save it. “Following his injury, Israeli special forces physically assaulted him and repeatedly punched him on his head and kicked him on his stomach,” the human rights group explained.

Despite his critical condition, he was painfully chained to his bed and interrogated for four days, again for days at a detention center after release.

“Burqan informed Adv. Farah Bayadsi from Addameer during a visit in Mascobiyya detention center that he suffers from severe headaches and dizziness,” said Addameer.

“He was not able to eat for days as he could not open his mouth due to the pain in his jaw and he has been bleeding from his nose at night which has prevented him from sleeping.”

“Adv. Bayadsi confirmed that Burqan was not receiving medication or medical treatment since he was transferred to Mascobiyya detention center despite his critical medical condition.”

Numerous examples of these type incidents repeat with disturbing regularity, notably throughout October. Israel is a ruthless police state, collectively punishing an entire Palestinian population for not being Jews - denying victimized people fundamental human and civil rights everyone deserves, guaranteed under international law.
