« Turkey Concealed Its Oil Smuggling Complicit with ISIS | A Crisis Worse than ISIS? Bail-Ins Begin » |
by Stephen Lendman
Just societies would praise Turkish Republican People’s Party (CHP) opposition member Eren Erdem as a national hero.
Turkey under Recep Tayyip Erdogan is a fascist police state, one of the world’s vilest.
James Petras nailed him cold, explaining his “long and ignoble history of betraying political associates, trading partners and military allies; of pledging friendship and then bombing his ‘friends’ and murdering citizens; of negotiating ‘in good faith’ and then killing rivals; of playing democrat then behaving like an ordinary demagogic dictator.”
He’s bombing Syrian and Iraqi Kurds on the pretext of combating ISIS, his regime allied with a scourge vital to eliminate.
Russia documented clear evidence of Ankara’s involvement in smuggling stolen Syrian and Iraqi oil cross-border to Turkey for refining and black market sales, mainly to Israel - Washington turning a blind eye to his criminal enterprise, complicit with ISIS.
He’s been directly involved in arming them, supplying them with deadly weapons, including toxic chemical agents. His purported war on terrorism is a complete hoax - just like America’s. Both countries support what they claim to oppose.
A previous article discussed Erdem accusing Ankara of high-level involvement in smuggling materials used to make deadly sarin gas to ISIS and other terrorists.
Interviewed by RT International, , he blew the whistle on high-level state criminality, saying evidence shows “(c)hemical weapon materials are being brought to Turkey and being put together in Syria in camps of ISIS which was known as Iraqi Al Qaeda during that time.”
“These are all detected. There are phone recordings of this shipment like ‘don't worry about the border. We’ll take care of it,’ and we also see the bureaucracy is being used.”
None of this could go on without involvement at the highest levels of Turkey’s regime, including Erdogan and other top officials - profiting hugely by conspiring with ISIS, along with many other nefarious operations.
Petras described him as a wannabe “21st century Pasha,” building and living in “the largest luxurious presidential palace in the world.”
He enriches himself hugely the old-fashioned way, by all forms of grand theft he can concoct - besides threatening world peace by his outrageous geopolitics, including shooting down a Russian Su-24 bomber in Syrian airspace and ordering a near-confrontation between Russian and Turkish vessels in the Black and Aegean Seas.
Perhaps he has something more significant in mind, complicit with Washington. He’d never confront Russia belligerently without US permission and likely direct involvement.
He wants all internal critics silenced - journalists, opposition MPs and others. Erdem faces treason charges after exposing Turkey’s involvement in supplying ISIS and other terrorists with materials to make sarin gas.
Ankara’s chief prosecutor opened a case against him following RT’s interview. Turkey considers exposing regime crimes acts of treason and espionage. MPs have parliamentary immunity. For Erdem, maybe not for long.
According to the Turkish publication Today’s Zaman, Ankara’s chief prosecutor’s office “will send a summary of proceedings to the Ministry of Justice on Thursday.”
“If the summary of proceedings is sent to Parliament, the process for stripping Erdem of his parliamentary immunity will begin. Erdem might be prosecuted over treason if Parliament votes in favor of the removal of his parliamentary immunity.”
Erdem defended his actions, accusing regime officials of a smear campaign. His information is based on what an investigation conducted by a Turkish court uncovered in 2013.
At the time, five Turkish citizens were arrested, released a week later after the local prosecutor was replaced.
Erdem said he’s getting social media death threats. “The paramilitary organization Ottoman Hearths is sharing my address (on Twitter) and plans a raid (on my house). I am being targeted with death threats because I am patriotically opposed to something that tramples on my country's prestige,” he explained.
He faces possible long term imprisonment for courageously exposing regime wrongdoing.
Turkey under Ergogan is a virtual cesspool of high-level criminality, supported by Washington - bipartisan US officials guilty of their own high crimes, one fascist regime supporting another.
