B’Tselem Researcher Persecuted by Israel

January 26th, 2016

Israel tolerates no criticism of its longstanding brutality against Palestinians, terrorizing and imprisoning thousands for political reasons, extrajudicially executing targeted individuals.

Israel arrested B’Tselem researcher Nasser Nawaj’ah days earlier. He committed no crimes. On Thursday, Jerusalem District Court Judge Moshe Yoed Hacohen ordered his immediate release.

Israel refused, continuing to illegally detain him. His lawyer Gaby Lasky filed an urgent motion under the Contempt of Court Ordinance against Samaria and Judea district police.

“The Court accepted our position that my client’s arrest was a false arrest, since Israeli courts have no jurisdiction in the matter,” she said.

“This is the second instance that has ordered his unconditional release. The police are intent on continuing the pressure on human rights activists under arrest.”

On Friday, Lasky’s Contempt of Court motion was rejected. She appealed to Israel’s Supreme Court to free Nawaj’ah. He’s one of many thousands of victims of Israeli viciousness.

On Thursday, longtime PA Israeli collaborators Saeb Ereket and intelligence head Majid Faraj bragged about PA security forces allegedly foiling scores of potential Palestinian attacks on Israelis since last October, detaining around 100 suspects extrajudicially.

A joint statement by Hamas, Islamic Jihad and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine blasted what they called “an insult to the struggle and sacrifices of Palestinians.”

Collaboration with Israel “reflect(s) the (deplorable) state of monopoly exerted by the PA over the Palestinian national decision.”

It “disregard(s) the national consensus that rejects all relations between the PA and the Israeli occupation.”

Illegitimate PA president Mahmoud Abbas is a notorious longstanding Israeli collaborator, benefitting hugely by serving as its enforcer, chosen for that purpose.

Why Palestinians tolerate him and likeminded cronies they’ll have to explain. Israel’s war without mercy on Palestine continues without letup - at least 164 extrajudicial murders since October 1, many thousands of Palestinians injured or arrested.

Israel justifying lethal shooting to prevent stabbing attacks were refuted numerous times by eyewitness testimonies and video footage, official Big Lies revealed.

Extrajudicial executions are war crimes under Geneva and the Rome Statute. Israelis remain unaccountable. Palestinians continue suffering with no relief in sight.

  • The Pretender's Magic is their diversity in musical range. Mystifying the sultry blues of "Blue Sun" to the punk-infused anthems like "Brass in Pocket," the band slips into these heterogeneous grooves with greased skids. The diversity of the songs makes every new and old fan curious to learn more about one aspect or another of the band's expression.
