Americans Mindless About the Grave Dangers They Face

February 22nd, 2016

Stephen Lendman

Never before in history has the danger of possible humanity destroying nuclear war been greater. Fundamental rights Americans think they have don’t exist.

They’re deplorably out-of-touch, the most over-entertained, uninformed people anywhere, controlled by neocon infested bipartisan governance, lunatics threatening their welfare, security and world peace.

Public ignorance is shocking, why America gets away with high crimes at home and abroad. Lawless interventionism is longstanding policy. .Endless US wars on humanity rage. Human and civil rights are fast eroding en route toward disappearing altogether. Police state injustice rules, tyranny by any standard, heading toward becoming full-blown.

Anyone considered a threat to regime authority risks arrest, imprisonment or death. Thousands of political prisoners languish in America’s homeland gulag, the world’s largest, one of its most brutal - supplemented by global torture prisons, Guantanamo the tip of the iceberg, what media scoundrels never report.

Torture is official policy. So is money-controlled one-party rule. Elections when held are farcical. Voters have no say whatever.

A truth emergency exists. Suppressing it is official policy. Managed news misinformation and Big Lies substitute for legitimate journalism.

A free press is pure fantasy, real news, information and analysis entirely absent on issues mattering most - available only through reliable alternative sources.

Mainstream one are too corrupted to fix, serving wealth, power and privileged interests exclusively - presstitutes making street whores look good by comparison.

American exceptionalism is code language for justifying the unjustifiable - might over right, waging endless wars on humanity, flouting rule of law principles, raping countries at an unprecedented rate, colonizing them, destabilizing scores of others, advancing its imperium, the human cost considered a small price to pay.

Belligerently challenging Russia and China risks global war. Humans may become the only species ever to destroy itself if US madness isn’t challenged and stopped.

Ordinary people have power when they use it. Famed anthropologist Margaret Mead (1901 - 1978) once said never underestimate the power of committed people to change the world - the only way possible, from the grassroots, never the top down.

Disruptive power today is vital - civil disobedience in defense of liberty. Resisting tyranny is a universal right - nonviolent revolution the only solution.

When government betrays its people, they’re entitled and obligated to change it. Martin Luther King called challenging injustice “the highest respect for law.”

Passivity is no option. Victor Hugo once said “nothing (is) more powerful than an idea whose time has come.”

Survival today depends on replacing tyranny in America with freedom, equity and justice - entirely absent in today’s society, a gangster state run by bipartisan criminals, an unparalleled global menace.

  • Feminism was once a revolutionary force, a creed born out of struggle, resilience, and the dream of a world much different from what we had been given. It was born from the pain of millions of women working, poor, Black, Indigenous, women of color who refused to take the world as it was. And yet, today, feminism is an idea manipulated, diluted, commodified, and often controlled by those very forces that it initially came into being to dismantle from the military-industrial complex to corporate media giants; feminism today hardly resembles its initial mission of radical social transformation. This has happened because things are ingrained in how our media landscape rolls along. We hardly notice how forces remake feminist discourse into more palatable, consumer-friendly, and politically neutral forms. The corporations that run the media, the intelligence agencies that shape public opinion, and the political powers that remain in control have combined a grand symphony of influence that has redefined feminism, replacing its radical edges with a glittering but hollow vision of empowerment. It is time to reclaim the radical roots of feminism to inspire a new generation of activists to fight for real change.
