Yemen is Obama’s war, naked aggression letting Saudis, other rogue Gulf States and Israel do his dirty work - enforcing blockade to restrict humanitarian aid, flooding the region with weapons and munitions, providing intelligence for terror-bombing, designating targets to be struck, civilians being massacred in much larger numbers than UN reports claim.
War in Yemen is US-sponsored slow-motion genocide, putting most of its population at risk. Yet something this important gets scant scoundrel media coverage, most often none at all - including on the following incidents. RT International reported Saudi warplanes (bought from America, armed with US munitions) terror-bombed a huge pro-Houthi/pro-ousted President Abdullah Saleh rally in Sanaa on Saturday, the nation’s capital.
Unknown numbers of civilians were killed or injured. One participant said “(s)uddenly they started bombing, and the crowd started running…People (were) screaming.”
Earlier in August, Riyadh terror-bombed a school and Doctors Without Borders hospital, causing numerous civilian deaths and injuries.
MSF said it’s pulling out of northern Yemen entirely. It’s too unsafe to operate there despite Saudis and other combatants given coordinates of their facilities to avoid incidents.
Civilians and nonmilitary related sites are being willfully terror-bombed. Yet media scoundrels virtually ignore what’s happening. It deserves regular feature front page coverage.
On August 22, Fars News reported on a separate incident, involving Saudis use of chemical weapons, killing or injuring an unknown number of civilians in Sanaa’s ninth district.
According to General Abdel Sattar al-Sa’deh, “(a) number of Yemeni people have been killed as a result of inhaling poisonous gases in the chemical attack.”
“This is for the first time that this kind of poisonous artillery shells are fired at residents of the Ninth district and the villages of Qoubareh, Qoul Ali, al-Ma'di, al-Asarat and al-Aqran.”
Monday NYT, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal editions have plenty of political coverage, lots on other topics - nothing on US-sponsored slow-motion genocide in Yemen.
