Life, Liberty and Property: Let Freedom Ring

June 22nd, 2010

By Robert Singer

My articles cover politics and the financial and environmental implications of our consumer society and I make a prima facie case that:

The Federal Reserve isn’t evil because they print our money and make us pay interest on the principal,

They are evil because, until October of 2008, the monetary policy that created money out of “thin air”, so we could live the American Dream, put humanity at the “unknown points of no return.”

According to the GEO4, a massive United Nations report, the planet is in “dire environmental straits and we have probably passed the “unknown points of no return” because humanity’s footprint [its environmental demand] is 21.9 hectares per person while the Earth’s biological capacity is, on average, only 15.7 ha/person.”

There are only three possibilities for how we passed the “unknown points of no return”, and the first two make no sense:

  1. Those scoundrels of our filtered history books, The Global Financial Elite (TGFE), behind the Federal Reserve, Rockefeller, Kuhn, Loeb and Morgan were inept, corrupt or just “stupid when they gave up their real wealth: raw materials, commodities, copper, iron ore, petroleum, lead, copper, silver and gold in exchange for $500 trillion of the fiat currency (monopoly money) they created out of “thin air” so Americans could “trash the planet”. (Dem Bones is Connected To De Debt Bone)
  2. TGFE are really benevolent and wanted their former serfs and slaves to have the highest standard of living for the last 75 years. (Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité – Providence, Miracle or What Really Happened)

We probably passed the “unknown points of no return” because our last President Bush was deadly serious when, after rejecting the global climate change targets of the July 2008 G8 summit, he said, "Goodbye, from the (then) world's biggest polluter."

George W. Bush connected to the Federal Reserve and TGFE, while president lost the war on terrorism and the war in Iraq, but was winning the war waged on the environment.

Therefore, you might conclude I have a tin-foil hat conspiracy theory for those scoundrels behind the Federal Reserve and TGFE convincing us to go shopping for useless toxic “stuff”.

But to suppose a conspiracy to environmentally damage and pollute the planet taking into consideration, national, international, state, regional and local governments then adjusting for the intricacies of population diversity, mentality and attitudes with all its inimitable contrivances, that an ecocide conspiracy could have been orchestrated by TGFE, seems, I freely confess, absurd in the highest degree.

THE GULF OIL SPILL: A Matter Of National Security?

June 22nd, 2010

Dr. Tom Termotto

Why does the US Federal Government continue to allow British Petroleum (BP), a serial criminal among oil companies, to control the biggest crime scene in American history?!

Why hasn’t the Barack Obama Administration (BOA) simply taken complete control of the situation, moved BP out of the way and capped the well, permanently?! Instead, they have allowed BP to tell the US victims how and when to clean up BP’s very own crime scene (BP is part of the government-empowered unified command structure currently keeping scientists from doing their work in the Gulf and journalists from photographing oil slicks).

INVESTMENT FRAUD: DON’T LET SCAM ARTISTS RUIN YOUR DAY

June 22nd, 2010

Bryan Sayers

As if sour news in the Gulf and about the economy were not enough, the advent of the summer travel season also brings with it the latest renditions of con artist schemes designed to ruin your day. For those of you who have managed to save in these tough times, you must be doubly aware of the potential for investment fraud. The FBI ascribes over $400 billion in annual losses to this criminal activity alone, and this figure does not include legitimate promotions that trick you into buying overpriced items as if they were valuable collectibles.

Updating Lynne Stewart's "Love Struggle:" Part II

June 22nd, 2010

by Stephen Lendman

Human rights attorney Stewart spent her career observing the American Bar Association's Model Rules, saying all lawyers must:

"devote professional time and resources and use civil influence to ensure equal access to our system of justice for all those who because of economic or social barriers cannot afford or secure adequate legal counsel."

Also to practice law ethically, morally and responsibly to assure everyone gets due process and judicial fairness, what the poor, underprivileged, society's unwanted rarely ever are afforded unless lucky enough to have an advocate like her. What failed her after being bogusly indicted, prosecuted, convicted, and jailed, awaiting final sentencing in July, perhaps later for reasons of health. More on that below.

Are Foreign Lives of Equal Worth to Ours?

June 22nd, 2010

By Adil E. Shamoo

When a U.S. civilian is murdered in a foreign land or in the United States, we rightfully feel angry, sad, and some of us demand vengeance. These are normal, primordial, and instinctive feelings of group loyalty and herd mentality that have bound communities and countries for thousands of years. Should such human traits, which are often beneficial, emotional and irrational, continue to justify the retaliatory killing of innocent civilians in the 21st century?

After the tragic murder of nearly 3,000 U.S. citizens on 9/11, the United States toppled the Taliban in Afghanistan and killed and captured hundreds of al-Qaeda leaders and members. However, Afghanistan lost as many as 32,000 citizens since the U.S. invasion in 2001.

Amnesty International Regarding Mordechai Vanunu

June 22nd, 2010

Eileen Fleming

In a 18 June 2010 report Amnesty International accused the Israeli authorities of subjecting jailed nuclear whistleblower Mordechai Vanunu to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment by holding him in solitary confinement. The 56-year-old, who spent 18 years in prison for revealing details of the country's nuclear arsenal to a UK newspaper in 1986, was sent back to jail for three months on 23 May on charges of contact with a foreign national, and almost immediately placed in solitary confinement.

Amnesty International has called for his immediate and unconditional release.

"Mordechai Vanunu should not be in prison at all, let alone be held in solitary confinement in a unit intended for violent criminals," said Malcolm Smart, Director of Amnesty International's Middle East Programme.

What sort of Christians become Zionists?

June 22nd, 2010

Stuart Littlewood

“We categorically reject Christian Zionist doctrines as a false teaching that corrupts the biblical message of love, justice and reconciliation” – The Jerusalem Declaration

Not all Jews are Zionists. Many reject the Zionist project and fight against it.

So why on earth would a non-Jew wish to be one? Indeed, how could a genuine Christian seriously consider becoming a Zionist? It has puzzled me for a long time. The two ideas are incompatible, are they not?

Horrific Conditions in Los Angeles County Jail

June 21st, 2010

by Stephen Lendman

In July 2008, the Southern California ACLU released a "Report on Mental Health Issues at Los Angeles County" Jail by Dr. Terry Kupers, a practicing psychiatrist, an expert on long-term isolated prison confinement and correctional mental health issues. He's also written numerous articles on these topics, and been an expert witness on the mental health crisis behind bars, what he wrote about in his book "Prison Madness."

In May, he toured the LA County Jail system where most inmates aren't convicted and are awaiting trial - Men's Central Jail (MCJ), Twin Towers 1 & 2 (TT 1 & 2), and the Inmate Reception Center (IRC). He interviewed 18 prisoners in private, confidential settings; others in more casual, cell-front ones; and discussed issues with mental health and custody staff.

'Cops' Run Amok, Suppress Video Tapes of Police Abuse

June 21st, 2010

by Len Hart, The Existentialist Cowboy

‘Police States’ are what they do! One of the things police states do is deny citizens a voice even as they seek to control information themselves. Lately and not surprisingly, police seek to suppress video tapes of police officers in the act of abusing people, beating them up, depriving victims of Miranda and other rights. There are efforts to make illegal the use of video cameras to expose police brutality and mis-conduct. How convenient!

I am of the opinion that police --presumably 'public servants' as we have been taught --ought to be video-taped, documented in any and every way possible. There is simply no reasonable compromise on this point. Either we are a free people or we are not! You are either for a free state or you are for a dictatorship that the right wing, the GOP in particular, is intent upon imposing upon us. It really matters little who occupies the White House; the U.S. government is owned!

Castro is right, so is Helen Thomas

June 21st, 2010

By Khalid Amayreh in occupied Palestine

Zionist supremacists from Tel Aviv to Los Angeles are ganging up on two elderly targets these days. The first is the 84-year-old Fidel Castro, a man who apparently made up his mind about Zionism more than six decades ago. And the second is 89-year-old veteran American journalist Helen Thomas.

Castro’s crime was a few passing remarks he uttered recently, saying that the Swastika has become Israel’s real flag.

“It would seem that the Fuehrer’s (Nazi leader Adolf Hitler’s) Swastika is today Israel’s banner.” The ex-Cuban leader added that “the hatred felt by the state of Israel against the Palestinians is such that they wouldn’t hesitate to send the one and a half million men, women and children of that country to the crematoria where millions of Jews of all ages were exterminated by the Nazis.”
