US Extends Anti-Russian Sanctions

December 28th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Analysts believing recent G20 sideline talks between Putin and Obama, followed by Kerry meeting Lavrov and Russia’s president in Moscow changed anything better think again.

Washington’s longstanding anti-Russian agenda remains unchanged - aiming to replace its sovereign independence with US-led Western puppet rule, what Moscow won’t ever tolerate.

The latest evidence of US intentions came Tuesday. A hostile US Treasury statement extended earlier illegally imposed sanctions.

Turkey’s Erdogan: Slave Trader

December 28th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Erdogan is an international criminal. His illicit activities are wide-ranging, perhaps involved in virtually all major internal illegal activities - including waging war on regional Kurds and complicity with ISIS.

Writing for the German publication Neues Deutschland, Roland Etzel said world leaders ignore his war on his own people.

“Erdogan expressed readiness to do a dirty job at the Syrian-Turkish border. His reward is Europe’s silence about Turkey’s crimes,” said Etzel.

They include:

training ISIS fighters on Turkish territory;

arming them with heavy weapons and munitions; supplying them with deadly sarin and other toxic agents;

More Evidence of Turkish Complicity with ISIS in Selling Stolen Oil

December 28th, 2015

By Stephen Lendman

Turkey is a pariah nation, a tyrannical crime syndicate masquerading as a nation-state, run by international outlaws.

Democracy is pure fantasy. None whatever exists. President Erdogan governs like a mafia godfather, intolerant of opposition and criticism.

Nothing of consequence goes on without his direct knowledge and approval. Various illicit activities let him, his family, and other top regime officials profit hugely.

His minions are involved with CIA agents and US special forces in training ISIS recruits on Turkish territory.

Their fighters move freely back and forth cross-border to Syria and Iraq. They’re regularly provided with arms, munitions and other supplies.

Turkish officials maintain the fiction of delivering humanitarian aid to so-called moderate rebels. No one can find them. They don’t exist.

IMF Chief Lagarde to Stand Trial

December 27th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Charges are unrelated to her greatest crimes - representing the US-controlled IMF and Western monied interests at the expense of beneficial social change.

The agency is a bandit operation, the loan shark lender of last resort, force-feeding economic and financial harshness on nations in return for loans - followed by new ones needed to pay debt service, an endless cycle of debt peonage, monied interests profiting hugely.

Ordinary people suffer greatly as expected. So do debt-entrapped countries, forced to obey harsh IMF diktats - incompatible with social democracy, civil and human rights.

Nations are strip-mined of their resources, material wealth, state enterprises, and other crown jewels - transferred from public to private hands, hollowed out into dystopian backwaters, their people able to have jobs transformed into serfs.

Fear-mongering Fast and Furious

December 27th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Most Americans are too uninformed, out-of-touch and indifferent to real threats they face, not phony headlined ones happening with increased frequency.

They’re easy marks for daily state-sponsored propaganda fed them, regurgitated by media scoundrels ad nauseam - turning a long ago respected profession into presstitution, destroying its credibility altogether.

State-sponsored Islamophobia rages by design. Virtually all instances of alleged threats or violent incidents are polar opposite how they’re portrayed.

False flags are a longstanding US tradition, originating in the mid-19th century, 9/11 the mother of them all, San Bernardino the latest incident, Los Angeles on Tuesday the latest phony scare.

Kerry’s Duplicitous Moscow Mission

December 26th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Russia urges mutual cooperation among all nations - on the basis of each one respecting the sovereignty of others, none demanding its interests matter most at their expense, the way Washington unilaterally operates.

Expect Kerry’s latest mission to Moscow to accomplish nothing. Two nations have fundamentally opposite agendas.

Russia is the world’s leading peacemaker, going all-out to resolve conflicts in Ukraine and Syria diplomatically - impossible to achieve given America’s belligerent agenda. It wants endless wars of aggression for unchallenged global dominance, including all independent governments replaced by pro-Western ones - mainly Russia and China, its two main rivals, standing in the way of its ultimate goal.

Obama Vows Escalated War OF Terror

December 26th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Post-9/11, America deceptively launched what it called a Global War on Terrorism.

It’s a war OF terrorism on humanity, using its military might along with rogue NATO and other partners, currently supporting ISIS and other terrorist groups in Syria, Iraq and elsewhere.

Following state-sponsored false flags in Paris and San Bernardino, US Middle East aggression escalated, on the phony pretext of combating ISIS. Speaking from the Pentagon on Monday after meeting with his national security advisors, Obama lied claiming US “armed forces continue to lead the global coalition in our mission to destroy the terrorist group ISIL.”

Gloomy Putin World View Comments

December 26th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Putin’s straightforwardness make his remarks in interviews and addresses important to note. Despite his continued efforts for normalized East/West relations, Washington remains a major stumbling block.

Obama and John Kerry say one thing. US policy is entirely different, including pressuring other nations to go along with its agenda, no matter the harm to their self-interest.

“Europe’s problem is that it doesn’t have an independent foreign policy,” Putin explained. Its nations refuse to assert their sovereign rights when it comes to East/West relations, bowing to Washington’s will.

On Monday, EU officials announced renewed sanctions on Russia for another six months. According to the European Council web site, “(o)n 21 December 2015, the Council prolonged EU economic sanctions against Russia until 31 July 2016.”

No objections were made to a decision taken in Brussels on Friday. Moscow maintains its own embargo on various EU agricultural products in response.

US Warplanes Bomb Iraqi Forces

December 26th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

US rules of engagement violate core international laws - attacking nonbelligerent nations threatening no one, mercilessly slaughtering civilians, dismissing what it deplorably calls “collateral damage.”

Human lives aren’t “collateral.” They too precious to be needlessly lost. In Iraq and Syria, Washington maintains the fiction of combating ISIS and other terrorist groups.

It’s at war with both countries without declaring it, waging lawless aggression - striking Syrian armed forces two weeks earlier, inflicting casualties as well as destruction of arms, munitions and vehicles.

On December 18, US warplanes attacked Iraqi forces in Fallujah, combating ISIS. According to Iraqi Parliament’s Security and Defense Committee head Hakim al-Zamili:

“Thirty soldiers from the Iraqi Army's 55 brigade were killed and 20 were injured in a US airstrike on the town of al-Naimiya in the al-Fallujah province.”

Putin Has More Tricks Up His Sleeve in Combating Terrorism

December 26th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

No one paying attention to his involvement in Syria against ISIS and other terrorist groups needs convincing about Russia’s formidable military capability.

On Saturday, addressing a reception to mark Security Agency Worker’s Day, he said in less than so many words, you ain’t seen nothin yet. More on this below.

He thanked and expressed admiration for attending professionals - for “reliably protecting Russia’s sovereignty and national integrity and the lives of our citizens, who are ready to perform the most complicated, responsible and dangerous assignments.”“These have always been the qualities that distinguished employees of Russia’s security services. On this day, we invariably remember the many generations of our predecessors who served our Motherland with honor.”
