Russia Bashing’s New Twist: Alleged State-Sponsored Doping

November 12th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

A previous article discussed doping accusations without corroborating evidence. It’s habitual in irresponsibly bashing Russia.

The Western founded and run World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) accused Russia of state-sponsored doping of athletes - a thinly veiled politically motivated scheme to ban Russia from international athletic competition, especially the 2016 summer Olympic games.

Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said “(w)e know about it from the mass media, and rely on the disproof voiced by our sports ministry.”

Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) president Nikita Kamayev said “(i)f If we speak about the allegedly destroyed doping samples, I see only a raw report and declarative statements without any proof. This also goes in regard to accusations of bribes offered by athletes. I see no logic here. All accusations are ungrounded at the moment.”

Russia’s sports minister Vitaly Mutko called conclusions in WADA’s report “baseless” and “really fictional. The Russian doping agencies today are really independent from the government.” “We only collect samples that are then stored in a laboratory and are supervised for decades. It is not Russia that now heads the anti-doping organization.”

Obama and Netanyahu Plot Next Moves

November 12th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Longstanding US/Israeli imperial partnership overrides how both leaders feel about each other - undisguised loathing no matter how they tried hiding it Monday in a media photo op.

Business as usual alone matters. Both nations partner in each other’s high crimes - endless Middle East wars, raping one country after another, wanting all independent governments removed, vassal ones replacing them, regional resources stolen, populations exploited.

No nations threaten peace and stability more than America and Israel - fascist rogue states pretending to be democracies. Regimes wanting world dominance may end up destroying it.

Was Downed Russian Airliner a Terrorist Act?

November 12th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

It’ll be some time before the cause of the downed Russian Kogalymavia Flight 9268 is known for sure and announced. Mounting evidence suggests terrorism.

A bomb on board appears most likely, yet to be proved or disproved. Mechanical or structural failure, or a surface-to-air or air-to-air missile are the only other possibilities - unlikely unless determined otherwise.

The ongoing investigation will discover precisely what happened. If terrorism, what then? How will Putin respond? Key is whether it’s possible to assign blame. More on this below.

Tass reported Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev saying “(t)he probability of a terrorist act…is held as a cause of what happened.” What’s likely doesn’t indicate certainty until the ongoing investigation is complete enough to know one way or the other.

NYT Fears Greater Putin Resolve Against Terrorism

November 11th, 2015

By Stephen Lendman

The Times is a US administration/Pentagon house organ, featuring press release journalism, a voice for wealth, power and privilege exclusively.

It’s a leading Putin critic - maliciously bashing him irresponsibly, substituting misinformation and Big Lies for legitimate reporting and opinion.

It fears evidence showing terrorism responsible for downing Russia’s Metrojet airliner (yet to be proved or disproved) may steel Putin’s resolve for greater efforts to defeat it - involving him more in Middle East affairs, challenging Washington imperial agenda effectively for the first time in memory.

US Increasing Troop Strength in Europe

November 11th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

US policies are consistent, the greatest ever threat to world peace and stability, verboten notions, endless wars prioritized.

On November 8, the Wall Street Journal headlined “US Military Officials Aim to Bolster Troop Presence in Europe” - to deter a nonexistent Russian threat.

Pentagon commanders “proposed sending more forces into Europe on a rotating basis to build up the American presence and are stepping up training exercises to counter potential Russian interference with troop transfers in the event of a crisis with Moscow,” said the Journal.

Hyping a nonexistent Russian threat combined with provocative actions risk direct East-West confrontation. NATO commander General Philip Breedlove said decisions on greater US troop deployments will be made “in the next couple of months.”

War on Russian Athletics

November 11th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

The Montreal headquartered World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is Western founded and run. Its first president, Dick Pound (1999 - 2007), is a Canadian lawyer and former McGill University chancellor.

John Fahey succeeded him in 2008, a former Australian premier and finance minister. Craig Reedie followed in 2014 and remains president - a former British Olympic Association chairman, currently an International Olympic Committee representative.

Their respective countries are part of Washington’s anti-Russian coalition, irresponsibly bashing Putin’s policies, engaged in lawlessly bombing Syrian infrastructure targets and killing civilians - a war crime far more serious than doping allegations lodged against Russian athletes, along with accusing its top officials, testing labs and security services of coverup.

Most Israelis Favor Killing Palestinians

November 11th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Propaganda works. Government statements and Israeli media one-sidedly highlight Palestinian “terror” attacks, mindless of reality on the ground.

Most Israelis have no idea or concern about what’s going on inside Palestine - including longstanding occupation harshness, state-sponsored terror against an entire population, a new generation of Palestinian youths demanding freedom, justifiably resisting collective punishment and denial of their fundamental rights.

A new Tel Aviv University/Israel Democracy Institute Guttman Center for Surveys Peace Index poll shows three-fourths of Israelis don’t understand how horrifically Palestinians are persecuted - in contrast to Arabs overwhelmingly fearing it acutely. Jews live normally. Palestinians have no control over their daily lives. Most Jews shockingly agree with the following statement: “(A)ny Palestinian who has perpetrated a terror attack against Jews (true or false) should be killed on the spot, even if he has been apprehended and no longer poses a threat.”

The Uprising Against Assad Was Engineered in Washington

November 10th, 2015

Eric Zuesse

A terrific news report by Jonathan Marshall at Consortium News provides the first-ever presentation in the West of the event that sparked the demonstrations that sparked the Syrian civil war, and of the entire origin of that war.

Unlike so many online ‘news’ reports that are merely authoritarian trash because they don’t link to any of their sources (they rely instead upon dumb readers’ faith or trust in the ‘reporter’ or in the publisher, such as The New York Times or Fox News), this one from Marshall is top-notch: not only does it provide intelligently skeptical readers with instantaneous access to documentation for each one of its key points, but those sources are credible ones. Taken all together, the sources, and Marshall’s presentation of them, constitute a solid historical account of how the war to bring down Syria’s leader, Bashar al-Assad, actually started.

Reckless US/NATO Saber-Rattling

November 10th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

When lunatics run the asylum, all bets are off. America can’t bear the thought of other rising powers challenging its unipolarity - so much so, it appears willing to risk humanity’s destruction to maintain sole dominance of planet earth, its resources and populations.

Russia, China and the vast majority of other countries support multi-world polarity, nations working cooperatively with each other in peace for the betterment of all.

Washington wants none of it, demands all other countries accept its dominance, obey its diktats, pay homage to the master of the universe - or else. Endless wars of aggression, raping one nation after another shows it means business - maintain independence and you’re next.

Myanmar Elections

November 10th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Myanmar is no democracy. Junta power rules, civilians representing it since 2011. Expect no change post-election, most Myanmarians unaware about the absence of democratic ballot choices.

On Sunday, they voted in general elections, touted as the first free ones in 25 years. Ignore the hype and lionization of Aung San Suu Kyi, a Western darling, alone enough to raise red flags.

The so-called pro-democracy icon is a fraud, a US/Soros-funded Western creation, a useful stooge, representing business as usual monied interests - an unworthy, disreputable Nobel Peace Prize winner like Obama and legions of other notorious honorees.

She heads the so-called National League for Democracy (NLD), falsely claiming to support democratic socialism, polar opposite its agenda - contesting for Myanmar’s presidency (she’s constitutionally barred from holding) against ruling Union Solidarity Development Party chairman (current president) Thein Sein, a former military commander.
